I can’t say enough good things about this place. We were looking for a place to have a drink and watch the sunset when we came across BijBlaw. We got a table by the water and the view was simply spectacular.
The service was above and beyond. I ordered a bottle of cava. The manager opened it for me and when I tried it, was quite warm. I politely told him to not serve it yet and just let it get cool in the ice bucket, but he insisted on getting me a new bottle. He did and it was much better.
We then had several snacks: the gambas, the ceviche and the risotto. The first two were good, solid. But the risotto was probably the best I’ve ever had. All of the food was fresh and had such delicate flavor notes and textures.
Superb service, amazing food and such a nice view. 10/10

We stayed at BijBlauw expecting a boutique experience worthy of the premium price. Unfortunately, the reality was far from what the hotel presents online.
Our room was simply not clean on arrival — dust and dirt in corners, dirty fan, cockroaches and insects in the room, and no towels for the sunbeds. The bathroom had no door, only a loose curtain offering zero privacy. Our terrace was directly next to loud ventilation units we were never informed about before booking. For a hotel in this price range, this is unacceptable.
We raised all these issues immediately and repeatedly. It took a lot of effort before anyone took action, and even then, the feeling was that we were the inconvenience for bringing up legitimate problems. Only one person, Sira, showed genuine care, initiative and hospitality. She tried her best and deserves recognition — but one good team member cannot compensate for structural issues and lack of management accountability.
We ended up checking out early because the stay was affecting our holiday in a negative way. Yet despite the early departure, the hotel still charged us for all nights already stayed and offered no formal apology, no goodwill gesture and no compensation, even after clearly documented issues on day one. At this price point, that level of service and attitude is simply not acceptable.
The location is stunning, and with proper standards and management responsibility, this could be a fantastic hotel.

We visited BijBlauw for both dinner and breakfast, and while dinner was decent, I didn’t love it as much as I’d hoped. The service was a tad slow but nothing too bad. The location and ocean views are absolutely top notch though. Especially during the day. Breakfast the next morning completely won me over. The smoothie special was so fresh and delicious, easily my favorite part. I’d definitely return for breakfast again, but I’d probably skip dinner unless they revamp the menu. Either way, it’s worth a visit for the setting alone.
This review is solely based on the restaurant as we did not stay at BijBlauw.

We were promptly greeted and seated. Views are amazing and I think this the reason people give the 4.9 star reviews because it is not the food. My wife asked for a side of herbal butter. They never brought it with the meal and she literally had to get up and find someone. They never returned to fill our drinks, water or anything. She had to get up a second time to find them and ask for a check. Then it took another 20 minutes for the lady to bring the bill. There may have been 4 other couples in the restaurant so 0 stars for customers service and 0 stars for quality of food. Do yourself a favor and find another restaurant with a view!

Beautiful room with stunning sea views! It is an excellent place for breakfast lunch or dinner with breath taking views. Great place to eat dinner and watch the sunset. They are in a great location and in walking distance to many other nice restaurants and bars. The staff is great and extremely helpful. I highly recommend staying here.

I chose BijBlauw for a peaceful solo vacation. A boutique property, with a sea side location. But on the first night, I woke up around 1am to find my room door wide open. I absolutely locked it before bed. I had also heard movement beforehand that sounded like someone trying to get in. (The noise of someone trying to get into the room woke me up abruptly. It wasn't subtle or vague. ) The door at this hotel is heavy and doesn't open easily by accident, so this felt like an attempted entry.
I reported the issue immediately and asked for:
• Security footage review (12-1:30am, Room 4)
• A safety plan for the rest of my stay.
• A partial refund due to the breach.
The hotel responded promptly at first, but ultimately claimed:
— No one was seen on the camera (though they refused to share the footage)
— Their night guard saw nothing.
— The door likely wasn't closed properly (it was) I checked in twice before going to bed (I am traveling alone)
— They could not offer a refund.
While they insisted there was "no indication" of a threat, the simple fact remains: I woke up to an open door while traveling alone, after hearing clear tampering sounds, and no one could explain why.

Came here for dinner with a view and I must say it was an excellent choice! The view is spectacularly beautiful at sunset. The food and drinks were deliciously tasteful for somewhat of a reasonable price.

I celebrated my 61st birthday with a 6-night stay at the BijBlauw Hotel, and I couldn’t have chosen a better place for such a special place.
The room was beautiful, minimalist yet warm, and incredibly comfortable. But what made it truly special was the personal touch—a surprise balloon setup waiting in my room for my birthday! That gesture meant the world to me.
Thank you again for making my birthday so memorable.

We made reservation for dinner. Parking is a little tricky as the street parking gets busy as there are other resteraunt. The entrance of the resteraunt is between the two buildings. We got seated beside the sea side. Make sure you book a time when sunset. Server is polite and friendly. Food is amazing and we tried a few entree. Daily catch is sea bass and it’s very good. We tried the tenderloin and it was cooked perfect. Somehow the temperature is not hot enough in the center. Truffle risotto is also good. Overall, price is reasonable and portion is decent.

Beautiful and very clean, beds were very comfortable the place was very quiet. Staff were extremely hopeful and they made you feel very welcome. I would definitely again. The location is perfect to walk to most of the locations and restaurants.
Just a few things that I would add for more comfortable. Very minor add a garbage can in the room area, The lighting in the bathroom a little brighter. Also a place to set your luggage and a better location for your clothes to be hung. Keeping in mind the bathroom is very big and comfortable the patio is huge.

Steak for 2 was very good, you may want to tell them one step up on your done-ness. Ordered medium, and it came back medium rare but I don’t mind! Very nice calm spot for a meal. Will be back for breakfast!

This is a beautiful boutique hotel directly on the Caribbean Oceanfront. The hotel has a great restaurant that overlooks the ocean. This is a great place to eat dinner and watch the sunset. I highly recommend adding the daily breakfast to your stay. The food is delicious and a great way to start your day off. We stayed in the Deluxe Double Room, Sea View. Our room number was 14 and the room was very spacious with nice amenities. The room also comes with a large terrace that has beautiful view overlooking the Caribbean Ocean. The terrace has 2 sunbeds, a small table, a large table with chairs, and 4 oversized chairs overlooking the beautiful ocean. We enjoyed eating breakfast in the mornings and having a glass of wine at night on our personal terrace. The staff was amazing from the time we arrived till the day we left. They were very accommodating and gave great recommendations for places to eat, beaches to visit, and other activities. The hotel is in a great location with many restaurants and shopping in walking distance. I highly recommend staying at BijBlauw. My wife and I had an amazing stay and definitely plan to come back and stay at BijBlauw.

If you are looking for a hotel room in the city center, this is definitely a good option. Please realize this is a converted hystorical building, and not a purpose built hotel. That is exactly what gives it its island character and vibe, but also comes with concessions. Not a problem for me, but ig you are expecting a hyper modern and efficiently laid out room, this is not for you. I was amazed that they actually offer a beach. There is also a small pool. The restaurant is very cosy and romantic, overlooking the sea.
We had some issues with internet and consequently internet tv, which were resolved by a very attentive staff, but this is apparently a recurring issue caused mostly by the internet provider.
Car parking in the direct vicinity can be a challenge though.
If you are looking to stay in the city center near the Pietermaai district, at the sea, and don't have a car, this is an ideal spot.

My friend and I stayed here in early March 2025 and it was a perfect stay. We had the 2-bedroom apartment above the cafe which was absolutely perfect with a coffee machine and washing machine and we loved sitting on our balcony looking at the ocean. The staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating especially when we needed adapter plugs. Communication in the lead up was amazing and they answered all my questions overnight. A great location with plenty of street parking around (free) and restaurants. The restaurant at the hotel was also amazing. Willemstad is only a 10-minute walk in and we felt super safe. Make sure to book and stay here!

Review for restaurant only: Location and atmosphere are a 5 and our service was great. Very attentive and well humored. But the food was really disappointing. We had 2x the ‘homemade’ pasta vongole with chorizo. There was no chorizo, 1/3 of our vongole were empty and it was 100% store bought tagliatelle, which is not the pasta I would select for this dish. The sauce was not bad but it was watery making it messy to eat and the portion was not generous (I’m European, not American, and still the portion was not generous).

Review of the restaurant only: Planned to take a lunch here but skipped it due to extremely slow service and lack of hospitality. We got a beer after a long time and the attitude of the waiter was like «I do not like customers». We did not get a menu nor a welcome smile when we arrived. The management has a job to do. A «smile course» is really needed. And finally, the beer was extremely expensive, 10$ for 0.27 bottle. So, why go here? A thumb up for the barkeeper, which actually had a smile to offer, and the wonderfull sea view…
