We stayed here 6 years ago and loved it so much that we're back again in 2025. Youri gave us the warmest welcome and made us feel at home the moment we arrived!
We rented the same corner unit (unit G or # 13 called Sea Star) with a panoramic view and private entry down the cliff to the ocean. To our pleasant surprise, some parts of the unit have been renovated, including changing the railing with glass panels on the second floor balcony so that we could take in the breathtaking view. The kitchen has been renovated and stocked with new pots and pans and anything you could think of to cook up a gourmet meal.
I could see from our villa when the local fishermen were returning to the beach, so I would just walk down and bought fresh fish from them, and cooked them at the unit.
Even though it was the most expensive rental in the complex, it was totally worth it. For that price, we enjoyed the best sunset view and the only private entrance to the ocean in the complex. I just jumped into the ocean and snorkeled in paradise while my husband lazed in our private nook at the multi-tiered platforms. There were lots of fish and live coral right in front of the villa, and it was a very short swim to the lagoon and the beach where the snorkeling was also amazing. I have gone to many beaches on the island, and the snorkeling right in front of our villa proved to be the best!

Great apartment, beautifully decorated and awesome location! The interior is so cute, with lots of art and tons of seating for guests. The patio has a great view. There are delicious restaurants nearby too. And of course, it’s so close to Playa Lagun! The beach is great, with lots of fish and coral for snorkelling. There are even some underwater caves if you’re feeling brave! All in all, this is a fantastic place to stay in Curacao!

This resort has the makings of a great place to stay, but unfortunately they have missed the mark. The buildings are of a good design. But the owners have cheapened the place to a bare bones operation. We did not mind paying for air conditioning but the owners could have made the entire building more comfortable by installing ceiling fans in the rooms. The kitchen was minimally outfitted with barely enough utensils. There was no bath soap or shampoo provided. No paper towels, no toaster, no pen, no paper. The place was absent the little touches that you would find in most other resorts. There wasn't even enough coffee filters for the whole week. I think from this recipe you get the idea of how cheap the owners are. There are better places to stay. Also the food at their restaurant was not the best. Go to the restaurant across the street. The cook there cares about the food he prepares.
It is unfortunate as the location and views were the best. This place has so much potential and it is sad that it is so badly run.

Location, Location, Location! Playa Lagoon was our favorite place to snorkel. Clear water and a large variety of fish. It was convenient to be a staircase away from the beach and walk back to a shower right inside the door of our room.
The accommodation itself was only fair. The floors were dirty and the room was a bit run down. The restaurant had very good food but was a bit overpriced compared to all the other restaurants we ate at.
The proximity to the beach offset the downsides for us.

We just got back from a week at Ocean Lagoon Resort. The resort was well kept and secure. We had a great time. The view from our condo was spectacular and the kitchen unit we had had all the things you would need. Lots of green iguanas though, but they will not hurt you. They were nice to see. Peter, the resort manager was easy to speak to and attended to our needs immediately. A three minute walk to Lagun beach were snorkelling was good. We would return.

This location offers privately owned units. Some face the ocean, some don't. Each are different and therefore, from what we could tell, have differing quality.
The ocean view is amazing. If you get a unit facing the ocean, it will be wonderful.
Electricity is expensive; you will be warned to use as little as possible. Sometimes there is a nice breeze and you can open the unit doors and enjoy it. Sometimes there is not and you may not be comfortable if you fear being charged for using too much AC and choose to leave it off and enjoy the weather.
The pool and outdoor shower are nice.
The beach is super convenient and very nice. Snorkeling there is terrific. Diving is popular.
Parking is easy. The place is safe; they lock you in every evening.
We were pleased with the on-site restaurant to the degree that the food was decent, the prices were fair, and the view is nice. One night a drum "band" randomly appeared to play for patrons and the sound was utterly deafening and not pleasant whatsoever. (We wanted to pay them to leave. ) That was weird but we suspect it was a relative anomaly.
There is a lovely stray gold kitty with big beautiful green eyes that will greet you. Be kind to her. She is wonderful. We fed her and looked after her a bit and gave her fresh water while we were there. She doesn't like to be touched (I think she has been abused) but she is very friendly and talkative. She likes soft cat food but won't eat it alone.

I've been going to Lagoon Ocean Resort for about 10 years now. The ocean views are absolutely beautiful and the snorkeling is amazing. Unfortunately, the property needs a lot of repairs and updating. But, before I point out the negatives, let me share with you some of the positives.
The onsite restaurant offers delicious food and drinks. Prices are reasonable, too. The staff that work there are super friendly. It also offers more of those beautiful ocean views Curaçao is known for. Do make it a point to dine there at least one night.
Location is in a quiet residential neighborhood. It's about a 45 minute drive from the airport and a car is required.
AC works wonderfully and is refreshing after spending the day out in the water. But just remember, the AC usage you have to pay for when you leave. It's not free.
Now as far as the rental units, that's where improvements are desperately needed. Microwave was broke and not working. Pots and pans were all scratched up with not much nonstick surface left. Sliding glass doors are hard to pull and the screens fall off when trying to move them. One of the lounge chairs had a broken leg making it unusable. Furniture is old. There is no cable with the TV and you probably can only get 1 or 2 channels with poor reception. There is only one local radio station that comes in on the radio, but it's mostly all talk.

We had visited Lagun Beach in December and noticed the buildings on the cliff above the bay so when we extended our stay in Curaçao booked six nights at Lagoon. Had an ocean view and listened to the waves, felt the cool breezes, watched the birds fly past, and watched the iguanas crawl along the stone walls. A lovely setting and a basic but comfortable apartment with a usable kitchen and two terraces. Spent one flip flop day where between walking to the nearby restaurant and down the stairs to the beach I only wore flip flops when I wasn’t bare foot. Did I mention the beautiful sunsets.
