Main Square Hostel

I’ll start with the negative… the bathrooms. For an entire hostel to have two boys toilets and two showers, it created queues in the morning. The toilet seats were so hot because they were getting used to much. The shower glass (between the two showers) has scratches on the paint so you can see between them… good if you like that, bad if you want privacy.
For the positives. Basically everything else :) Location was great (a little noisy with bars until around 10pm). Taxi/Bolt drops you off on the other side of Main Square as no cars are allowed, so you have to walk. Staff were nice at check-in (otherwise they ignored you) and Breakfast was decent for a hostel. No bed bugs — despite all the other reviews.
Overall, the hostel isn’t great, but for Zagreb, it’s okay.

I called a day before arriving, saying I was traveling with a bike and ask if they could store it for one night while I stayed in the hostel. The guy I had on the phone told me if it was juste for one night I could leave it in the lobby.
On the day when I arrived, a lady was at the reception and without even saying hello, she told me I could not enter with a bike (I had to carry the bike on the 3rd floor). I explained that I called the day before and someone told me it would be ok. She wouldn’t listen to anything.
In the end I had to found another hostel for the night last minute.
Very poor customer service.

Had a great experience staying here. Facilities were good and staff were warm. Met some cool people and had a cool time. Had a slight ant infestation in one corner of the room and a friend I was bunking with needed help changing his mattress cover and a particular member of staff on reception over the Easter weekend was a huge help with both of these problems. I would write his name but I can’t actually remember. Dude was French (I think) and medium height so shoutout him.
