The location is top notch, such a nice view. The beaches have nice sunbeds and showers. And the staff speaks English really well.

When the website says “rustic” they mean worn out. The hotel is trying to be a nice resort and they are working on some updates (new dock and waterline) However, it is a dump. Our room had ants and spiders and we checked it after 1 day. The staff was accommodating for our early departure, which is why I give it 2 stars. Stay at your own risk.

Stay at Island Hotel Katarina turned out to be a very pleasant surprise, rooms are a bit outdated, but staff is very nice and helpfull, surroundings is beautiful (island and also Rovinj), but greatest thing is — food is great, it is like hotel restaurant should get some michelin stars… every meal is a surprise, with lots of new and very fine things to try… trully, a nice gastro weekend for us…

Very nice place to have quiet and relaxing holiday at the small island full of trees and greenery. Excelent food and very professional and attentive staff, especially at the reception.

Stunning location and views! Hotel rooms are looking rather tired but the cleanliness cannot be faulted, and the view and location make up for it. Family rooms offer ample space. Animation team work tirelessly to keep guests (young and old) happy. All staff are polite and hard working. Pool area is immaculate. A shop within the hotel would be very helpful, along with more regular evening entertainment and at peak times more frequent boat departures to/from island as these get very busy with public travellers with no priority given to guests, although boat crew do try very hard to accommodate all. All in all a beautiful destination!

Breakfast — variety of food poor. Selection of food not topped up. Evening meals — I can only comment on one night of waiter served meals which resulted in waiting 45 minutes for the main course to arrive. It wasn't worth the wait the quality was very poor. Following this we dined out every night. Our room was a standard room which was a reasonable size. The shower area extremely small with the controls needing to be on a different wall to the shower head. When trying to stand under the shower head due to the limited width of the enclosure ones back or arm altered the flow and temperature of the shower control lever. Pads on the loungers in the grounds would be nice Would I come back — yes but only on B&B. We enjoyed our evenings dining in the some of the many restaurants in town. Whilst there is an evening bar at the hotel with limited seating outside most people go into town. Everything else was great from the boat service, all the hotel staff and also the island.

Very nice location and an island directly before Rovinji. The communal areas and the park are great, the rooms really are in urgent need of refurbishment. The staff is always friendly and helpful. If they refurbished and made it up to a current three star standard this would rate five stars.

Very kind and affordable price for everyone if you plan to make a quiet and relaxing holiday.

Beautiful hotel situated on an islet, well connected with ferries with the mainland. The Italian food leaves to be desired, but everything else is great.

Beautiful location, beautiful charming property, albeit dated, nice pools. Good food. Comfortable rooms but to be renovated.

Hotel should have taken the assessment by Markus Kugler to heart, because nothing has happened to like us.
Bottom line: Fantastic location, beautiful facility and good food with friendly service. An ideal hotel for lovers ♡

Great location and hotel, loved the staff.

The price — to-performance ratio is wrong with this hotel unfortunately at all.
First of all however: Hotel on the island of Katharina is beautifully situated and the General facilities (lobby, reception, dining halls, swimming pool) are beautiful.
The staff and the quality of the food or The room that looks different. The staff is consistently rather unfriendly and stressed out.
Breakfast: Low selection, bad coffee, thin juices of the good stuff (fruit, etc. ) only limited quantities available. The staff moves with his views and removes the dirty dishes from the tables very loud and unmotivated.
Lunch: Very good kitchen. The service staff is unfortunately due to many bus tourists, come on tour on the island (one here is like an animal in the Zoo, except that we were not fed), more than overwhelmed. With an additional order, you had to have almost scared.
Dinner: The buffet for regular 140 KN (CA. € 20, —) joins the breakfast buffet (boring)
Rooms: very old, no air conditioning, under the beds very dirty
Internet: 40KN (nearly €6) per hour costs. It was not possible to use in several instalments. A cancellation was always from the front desk (Tip: avoid tonka, because she is full of confidence, however, has no idea of her job and is also unfriendly) be performed.
Boat transfer: Caution! can be weather permitting from 2 sides of the island.

Hotel Katarina is certainly not the most modern in Rovinj, won our approval but with his personal care, extremely attentive staff, and wonderful location. The rooms could be renovated, but the helpful cleaning staff is doing everything. So that the guest feels at home. Anyone looking for an unspectacular, private and cozy hotel, where the guest is welcome and is not handled as a number, is here well advised.

Had a rest last year-end of August-beginning of September, with a girlfriend. Everything was really good, the food is excellent, the staff is discreet and friendly. The beach is just a fairy tale, you forget about everything. The weather was just amazing! It was the unforgettable days. In General, the trip only the positive and the sea of memories, will go still there and not once.
