Were at this hotel with family in June 2017.
The hotel left a pleasant impression, the rooms are pleasant clean, everything is relatively new. Very beautiful sea view from the room! And, as far as I understood, there all the rooms (except the 1st floor) have balconies and sea views. The room has a kettle, a minimum set of dishes. In about 30 minutes walk is (starts, because its territory is large) a beautiful Vorontsov Park and Palace. This is the main attraction of Alupka and in general what you can go here for!
Features of the hotel (it's not flawed, just need to know) :
Is quite high above the road. If you go up on foot, you have to go up a pretty steep long staircase.
There is a bus stop (10-15 minutes on foot) nearby, from where the city buses go in any direction. There are also grocery stores.
No food is included in the cost of living. There is a local cafe in the hotel where you can pre-order something for breakfast, dinners. But there is no permanent ready menu there, only by pre-order. Not fast, not cheap (.
If you eat not in the hotel, the nearest cafes/dining rooms are not close — about 20-30 minutes on foot on the local ascents (descents/ascents — it is generally a feature of the whole UBC).

It's a great hotel! A beautiful view of the sea!
The rooms are clean and comfortable! Very friendly staff. There is a cafe with good home cooking on site.
Smoking is a mess!
Smoking on balconies, in cafes! The administration doesn't care!
Instead of mountain air, you will breathe air conditioning! On each balcony an ashtray, and the administration in the eyes of non-smoking holidaymakers says that smoking in the hotel is prohibited.

Traveled to the Crimea with his family. We decided to stay in Alupka for one night, but stayed for a week. The forest is a great hotel with clean rooms, nice staff and magnificent views of the mountains.
