The staff went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. I would definitely stay there again on my next trip to San Jose, CR.

Rooms are typical of Residence Inns in the US. Staff is friendly and hotel is in a great location. There are several restaurants and upscale shops in walking distance.

My husband and I had the pleasure of visting Costa Rica on June 11-15, 2018. Our stay at the Residence Inn was wonderful! The free breakfast by far exceeded our expectations. Clean rooms and great staff throughout the hotel. The availability of complimentary laundry facilities was awesome. The location was perfect walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Most of all, we want to recognize Paula. Paula worked in food services and greeted us with a smile and by name each morning we had breakfast. She was very professional, yet personable. She answered questions and followed up to see how were enjoying our stay. We had to give Paula a hug before we left, as she really stood out as a person that enjoyed her job and loved to provide excellent customer service.

Rooms are very nice, very convenient location, staff are friendly, facilities seem great.

Good place, nice rooms, places to eat very close, exc the service buffet breakfast, pool with a lot of chlorine smell and very windy should be indoors.

The hotel was very nice and the location was excellent. The breakfast was very good. Getting in and out to the hotel is complicated due to the heavy traffic that prevails in the area during the day.

Decent place. Small bar with limited selections. Food wasn't great. Service was nice.

A comfortable hotel in the excellent location of Avenida Escazú. The pool is a good plus for sunny days.

Super expensive for what you get. Located in a very exclusive area of San José, this hotel is quite a bluff for what you pay, same as most restaurants I could visit in the area. I love pricey restaurants and hotels, but you need to get value for the money you pay. I stayed at the Residence Inn Escazu as I was travelling on business for Bacardi, which has offices next door. I did my reservation through the Marriot website directly, a month in advance, and they applied a daily rate of USD 280 excluding local taxes. When I arrived to San José and my colleagues told me the rate they had paid booking through the Bacardi travel agency I spoke to the reception to request the application of the Bacardi rate. Apart from the lack of perception of a manager on duty overseeing the operations, taking responsibility for issues reported, the response was slow and not helpful, their attitude was far from having any interest or sympathy for the guest. Apart from low value for money paid, it was painful the personnel's lack of reckon with the customer's claim. Doubtless, I will not recommend or stay at Residence Inn Escazu again, having many other options in the area (Intercontinental, Holiday Inn, etc) ; This experience damages the image I had of Marriot hotels. The personnel at the bar and breakfast area was however kind and showed a completely different attitude, with a clear customer service oriented behaviour.

For training it's an interesting place.

I have been staying at this hotel for over 2yrs now. Traveling there about every three months. It’s staff is by far the best, most caring staff I have met! Marco and Paula are over the top with hospitality. Anything I need from the hotel, they are happy to accommodate. Won’t book anywhere else in Escazu or San Jose.

Staff is very professional and friendly. The room very nice. It is within walking distance to many restaurants.

It’s clean, safe and really accommodating. The breakfast is limited but overall the food was good. Service was super.

Great hotel close to good restaurants and a movie theater. I really liked the space and the fridge for drinks and leftovers. I was in the area for 9 days for dental work with Goodness Dental. The Residence Inn was close to the clinic and was really comfortable for my wife and me. I plan to stay here again when I return. The only negative was the noise from the highway… which wasn't bad… but thought it was worth mentioning.

The location is great. You're literally right in the heart of a very busy shopping complex. There is literally a Starbucks, IMAX movies, eateries, etc here. The people at the hotel ate sooooo accommodating. The buffet breakfast is amazing! The hotel itself is very modern and the rims are spacious. You must stay here!

This hotel is wonderful! The hotel was clean. The staff is top notch! There is free washers and dryers. We stayed here for a medical procedure recovery period of 11 days. It is my first time leaving the USA and the staff at the hotel where helpful, most speak English as well. The food, especially the free breakfast is wonderful. There are many shops and restaurants within a couple blocks of the hotel. It is an extremely safe area with lots of families. CIMA is a block or two away, my husband made many trips back and forth while I was in the hospital. My room was quiet. There are English TV channels. My husband worked from the room so we used upgraded internet for a small charge. We took the coffee and ox cart tour and it was wonderful. The staff was very helpful setting up transportation for the things we needed to do. I definitely would suggest staying here!

Traveled to Costa Rica for medical tourism and stayed here for 9 nights and couldn't have asked for better service. Staff were all friendly, bilingual, & willing to assist with anything. Shout out to Ronny & Joice in the bar/restaurant and Josie at the front desk for assisting with booking tours with many options available for pickup at the hotel. Yummy breakfast & homemade meals. Area around hotel is still being developed but many restaurants, shops, & a movie theater within walking distance. Room we stayed in has a full size refrigerator, dishwasher, & small cooktop stove. Wal-Mart within walking distance (1 mile). Highly recommend!

Nice place but beware of hidden charges. We were booked for two nights. Our flight was delayed and we could check in only around 5 am the next day (essentially we stayed only one night). While we knew they would still charge us for two nights and that's fair, they slapped an additional $85 penalty for not checking in on the first night! WHY THIS DOUBLE DIPPING? Fought for weeks via Expedia to get this money back but no luck. I will never use this place again because of such practice!

One of the best Residence Inn locations I've stayed at. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Full breakfast included, with an omelet station. Internet is great. All in all, highly recommend it if you're staying for a few days in San Jose!

Great place to stay, very exclusive area, nice restaurants around, you can go shopping at Multiplaza Pacific Mall (a cab will take you there for $2). Movie theater, starbucks… 10/10 location to relax on a bussiness trip. I fully recomend this hotel.

This hotel is fantastic for business travellers. It is not a great location if you are a tourist bringing a family (just because this is the city, and you want to be out in the country/on the beach), but if you have business to attend to in the San Jose area, I can't recommend this hotel enough. The suites are super. Room Tip: Get the suite if you can.

This place was great I loved it the staff was awesome food was great, and I even bought a nice painting from the hotel lobby, I will return!
