We really enjoyed the staff at this hotel. Very friendly and personable and willing to help you plan excursions or answer questions. Vivianna at the front desk was amazingly helpful and kind and Randall in the restaurant was awesome. He was very friendly and provided great service. Our room was clean but there was an odor of sewer gas or something that was a little unpleasant and we stayed in the rooms below the restaurant which are very noisy after 6am with chairs and tables being banged around above. I would recommend spending more money for the rooms located elsewhere unless you are an early riser and don't sleep past 6am.

Wonderful lodge full of friendly, helpful and professional staff. Has an air of ease and comfort. Good food at the restaurant, lovely small heated outdoor pool, beautiful grounds. Highly recommend. Bring a sweater and a rain coat — you're in the mountains/cloud forest.

Staff is very nice and helpful. The food is very good, but the menu is small. They have to truck everything in from a distance, so to minimize waste they use a smaller menu. Still the servings are good sized. The Tripadvisor says rooms are rustic. Rustic would be an upgrade. The rooms need to be completely renovated. They have tried to update, but they are beyond updates. They are small, renovations have not been completed or finished, so the room looks dirty. Price of these rooms is to high for the size & quality. Thanks.

Hotel with a lot of charm, which is located at 10/15 Min walk from the center. Beautiful garden, composed of a pond, a butterfly greenhouse and with small paths inside the complex, which allow even a small night out. Very good Restaurant. We'll be back.

Despite lacking air conditioning and television, this resort is anything but rustic. Modern accommodations with balcony views, a clean, heated pool, hiking trails diving deep into the forest, fine dining beside a wood burning fireplace and full bar, and perhaps most captivating, a small butterfly garden (stocked mostly with Blue Morphos) adjoining the lobby and visible through soaring windows — all of these combine to create the perfect lodging experience. Unless, of course, you came all the way to Monteverde to watch TV.

This hotel is tucked away in the Monteverde cloud forest. You really feel like you're in the jungle. They have a butterfly garden, a heated pool, and a meditational area. Staff was very attentive.

Amazing on all counts. Service. Facilities. Value for money. Great affordable food. Value-adds. Friendly. We tried to stay longer but they were booked out.

Extremely beautiful and romantic place with a fine selection of food. The staff makes it a priority to remember your name and what you enjoy.

Scummy pool. Extremely incompetent help. Rooms like cells. NO view whatsoever. Four hour bone jarring ride to the top of a mountain for a view that was MUCH better at the bottom. What a sad waste of time for a few flowers. Don't waste your time or money. Much better value elsewhere.

You will not be disappointed! The service and food are both 5 star! The rooms and grounds are beautiful! They have ALL the same Butterflies as the butterfly garden in town, so you won't need to go there and waste your money. Highly recommend this lodge.

Good access to the center of the town with none of the noise. Noce rooms, good food and nice helpful staff.

Place was amazingly awesome. Food was top knoch. The hotel has an amazing garden in the back with hiking trails and a heated pool. The room were the best quality with beautiful decor and an amazing view from the back window. Bathrooms were very clean and water was completely safe to drink from the tap. Only problem is that there was no AC but it's okay since the temperature outside is always perfect year round and was perfect for me. I am an AC and I had no problem with the room temperature. All we had to do was open the windows. The staff were amazingly friendly and couldn't ask for better. Iwould recommend this hotel to anyone as it's one if the best places I have ever stayed.

Great place to stay in Monteverde! Beautiful gardens and walking trails. The staff were wonderful and very accommodating. If available, dinner in the butterfly conservatory is a unique experience that is worth asking about. Excellent food, and a comfortable, lodge/cabin-style room.

Loving this place. "Rustic elegance" is what adorns the sign at the front. Crappy slogans aside, it's a real beauty of a hotel. Wonderfully friendly staff, great food and drinks, sprawling gardens and a pool, and showers with enough pressure to strip the skin from your head.

Review for the restaurant El Jardin. Great food. Great flavors. Really good snapper tacos. The grounds are very nice. I would definitely return to eat or stay.

Lovely place, quiet and great service. The room wasn't extraordinary but great as a 1-night stoo.

Clean rooms, hot showers, decent Wi-Fi for a small mountain town when not at peak hours (4mbps up 2 down) and a great view of their garden and nearby hills. Suggest you get a balcony room or enjoy the scenery from the restaurant area.

No cheap lodgings only expensive hotels.
