The story of this place is amazing and speaks of the faith and ability of a group of human beings to make a kindness to Mother nature.

Some of the accommodation is a little tired, while still being comfortable. The real stars are the wonderful staff, who are all extremely knowledgeable about local natural history and very helpful. The grounds are well kept and we saw agouti and armadillos along with many different birds.

Los Pinos was an excellent stay. Our cabin was beautiful with rainforest views on each side, and staff was very friendly. They were very helpful in planning our activities around Monteverde, and Los Pinos itself was easy walking distance to many restaurants, shops, and bars.

Good. I haven't stayed there. But I know them are very beautiful and quiet with beautiful gardens. And very comfortable rooms.

This place is gorgeous. We were warmly greeted and guided to our cabin. The cabin is well equipped with a kitchen, ample shower and lush green gardens. Just a walk doe. The street are the restaurants and market. It was like a dream.

Good value for money Individual cabins very spacious, comfortable, equipped and private. Breakfast is not included. In front is a bakery for breakfast very rich.

Beautiful hotel, all individual cabins, rustic but with comforts of home! Very friendly staff, wish we could have stayed longer!

The cabins were very, very clean and the family which owns the hotel are extremely kind. We stayed there in October 2015 and in one morning we were late in getting ready for a tour. Without us even asking, the gentleman at the from desk drove his cart to our cabin to pick us up and drive us quickly to the awaiting tour bus. They were extremely kind during our whole stay and if I ever stay in the city again, I will stay here.

Nice and romantic cabins with full kitchen and comfy bed. The place is very clean but a little outdated. Also, there no A/C in the small cabins nor a TV which for the most part is not necessary as is very chilly in the mornings & afternoons. However, I heard that the family cabin are fully equipped. Closely located to the downtown of Santa Elena (10-15 min walk about 5 in taxi $3). At the reception Rafael was very friendly and help us book all of our tours and taxis and provide us with tips for public transportation and places to eat.

Absolutely amazing wish we had stayed here the whole trip. Great price. Really cool self-sustaining community. It has its own solar power as well as a purified spring water safe for drinking and hydroponic Greenhouse gardening that you can purchase vegetables to cook back in your cabin.

The best place to stay in Monteverde. The cabins are clean, comfortable and with privacy. The care is excellent and the price affordable. Almost like being in paradise.

We are at Los Pinos as I write this. We have a family cabin and it is perfect. The location is awesome and the staff we have interacted with so far has been outstanding. The cabin exceeds our expectations and they have three hydroponic green houses that we can harvest fresh veggies for our meals and snacks. There are lush gardens, birds and creatures throughout the grounds. It is everything they advertise it to be. Not an over the top luxury hotel, but an awesome, comfortable, home away from home with a great location and super courteous staff. We strongly recommend this great place!

Great place. Clean. Large garden full of vegetables (for you to eat). Kid friendly. Tiny hiking trail. Centrally located and tranquil.

This was my favorite stay in Costa Rica. First, I loved being in the mountains and the cloud forest. Second of all, this place prides its self on sustainability. The cabins and grounds reflect this. There's even an organic farm on the property where you can go and pick your own vegetables to cook with in your cabin. Take the nice hiking trail on the grounds up to a beautiful view of Monte Verde where you can see all the way down to the Pacific, then swing through the farm and pick some veggies for a meal or salad. The cabins at Los Pinos are GORGEOUS. Absolutely beautiful. They are secluded from each other so you won't see your neighbor. They are literally crammed in the middle of the jungle, as the jungle comes right up to the deck of your cabin. The cabins are spacious and rustic. Again, this was my best and favorite stay in Costa Rica; I can't say enough good things about it. The location of the resort is a block away from a fantastic bakery, a few blocks away from some small general stores and a grocery store, and there's some restaurants a little past that. You don't need to have a car to get to food or even some shopping when staying at Los Pinos (we didn't have a car the entire time in Costa Rica). You will not be disappointed with Los Pinos, and your stay will help you fall even more in love with Monte Verde.

Loved it! It was rainy and chilly during our stay but they had extra blankets so we were toasty. We hiked the trail to the look out point and saw a gorgeous sunset. We also made dinner in our kitchenette and watched HBO in bed. Great spot.

This is a fine place to stay if you are okay with rustic accommodations. Los Pinos is not to be confused with a resort. There were mouse feces on the kitchen counter, and a live squirrel inside the cabin at 5:00 this morning. This could be a great choice if you are traveling with a group of friends, as our cabin had three separate bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. I probably will find another spot if I ever return to Monteverde, but other people seem to love the place.

Un lugar lindisimo. Lo recomiendo.

The best place to rest in Monteverde. It is excellent.
