Meant to stay for 4 nights, stayed for 16. Staff was amazing and we all had a great time. Location was perfect and close to everything Tamarindo has to offer. Knowledgeable on surf spots, restaurants and bars also. Also Tyler and Marco aren’t so bad on the eyes. 10/10 would stay again!

Beautiful hostel tucked away from the Tamarindo craziness (trust me, this is a plus) it is at the perfect distance from everything, including the beach :) Very clean, affordable, well kept hostel. Amazing staff and great experiences. They are so helpful so anything you want to do and treat you like family.

This is the first place we stayed when coming to Tamarindo. We absolutely fell in love with this hostel! It was so warm and welcoming, it was clean and everyone was great to be around. I would definitely recommend this place.

Tamarindo Backpackers is like a second home to me (and to so many people who have been their before as well). It really doesn't feel like a hostel when you stay their but a good friends home. The staff consists of some of the best people in the world! and it's also close to the beach, close enough to the town that you can walk anywhere quickly but far enough so that its not loud at night time. I would recommend anyone to stay with Tamarindo Backpackers! Thanks so much to Anne, Elias, and the whole crew for welcoming me!

We stayed for a couple of nights shortly before high season started. The hostel is 5min walk from Tamarindo downtown, so that it is located in a really quiet area (I guess particularly during high season it may be difficult to sleep in downtown hostels, so quietness is definitely a plus). Generally, the hostel is nice especially the outdoor area with a small, clean Pool, hammocks… Really chill. However, a minus for the cleanliness and the equipment in the kitchen: they have a lot of plastic dishes which look ugly really quick, there were no towels to dry your dishes or to go over surfaces, the sponges didn't look nice, so that the kitchen always looked slightly dirty. And the fridge was actually dirt, with a lot of bad food that was in there for at least a while. We have stayed at several hotels and this was on of the dirtiest hostel fridges we have seen. With a nicer kitchen, we would definitely give the hostel 4-5 stars. And another smaller minus was the lack of big lockers for the dorm rooms, the lockers were very small and only fitted a purse and a mobile phone.

I travelled through Costa Rica when the tropical storms were hitting the caribbean. The lights were out, it was pouring rain and when all seemed lost I arrived here! With no doubt one of the funniest and best welcoming hostels I had the chance to pass by. Cheers to the amazing staff! Definitely coming back someday.

This is an amazing hostel filled with even more amazing people and staff! I planned to stay here for 1 day and I ended up staying here for a week and a half! The moment I entered the hostel I was adopted into the tamarindo backpackers family and I just couldn't pull myself away. The staff went above and beyond to find a bed for me when this hostel and every hostel in town was full for the weekend; they saved my butt! Just be sure to multiply your planned stay by 8 because you won't want to pull yourself away from this place! Thank you thank you guys for an awesome time!

I first wandered into this lovely hostel in December 2016. My plans were to stay for a few days then carry on… I ended up spending 2 weeks here. Now I'm back for more! Such an amazing little spot, tucked in a quiet corner. Cozy rooms, chill vibes. The staff were always very helpful & friendly, they really made the stay special. Definitely my favourite place to visit!
