Terrific food, wonderful service and relaxing atmosphere!

We stopped here one night while staying in Flamingo Beach and had a nice dinner on the rooftop. They served by far the best drinks we had during our trip — a fresh mojito with the mint flavor but not the little chunks of mint that you end up sucking up your straw and eating and a margarita with just the right amount of tequila and not overpoweringly sweet. If you don't have time for dinner, I would highly recommend stopping by for a cocktail. The food was fresh and seemed to have a more traditional Costa Rican flavor. We really liked the ceviche flavored with pineapple. The mains we ordered were nice but a little bit lacking in flavor in my opinion (could just be the way Costa Ricans eat). Service from the manager was courteous.

I played my first ever solo show at Mariner last night and had the time of my life. The whole wait staff is wonderful, helpful, fun and funny… and Max the manager was a most gracious host and a supporter of local musicians. Nice cold beers, great food, reasonable prices, playing tunes with my friends on the upper deck overlooking Potrero Bay as the Papagayo Winds whistled through. Life is good at Mariner!

Nice place, food was good, service couldn't be worse. Seems like waiter is very unhappy with his job, wasn't nice and all he wanted is clients to pay and leave. Sadly first and last time.

Awesome Terrace dining! From the wonderful manager Max to the waiter Charlie to the chef, the food is spectacular and the drinks were great!

Spectacular food and ambience — I have never had shrimp prepared so deliciously. Our waiter Charley, was great too.

I know the Mariner Inn from Larry and Lin (sorry if is not well-written) were the owners. On that occasion I liked the hotel very much. All staff very helpful, the food delicious and the hotel simple but for my taste it had everything I needed, apart from having affordable prices which is an aspect that is scarce in the area of Flamingo. That was in January of 2015. In April 2016, my parents, by my recommendation, they stayed and were delighted with the hotel. Already by this time, the owners were some young boys who were twins and one of them is named Joaquin. Now in January I went back to the Mariner Inn with the illusion of meeting with the hotel that I knew since forever and I'm going to say something. The person who received me, who was Max, was friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, especially the nachos. I found a hotel more groomed but got the job done and a lot of the changes with which I came across. No longer serving breakfast because the restaurant is open until 2 pm then I had to go to breakfast in Marie's where he was entitled to a 10% discount on the invoice; the swimming pool are open to the public when they open the area where the restaurant; the menu I found it very limited although the food was delicious as always and as I read in a comment written in this section, the day that I went I had to leave the keys to the mercy of Loneliness because that day the only person that saw was the lady in charge of the cleaning.

Great food for the price compared to others in the immediate vicinity. Casual atmosphere with a nice view on the patio. Family friendly and very good service. My wife is a vegetarian and was very pleased with the veggie pasta option.

Visited twice for dinner. We are a party of 10 and each time the staff immediately put tables together to accommodate us as we had no reservation. Great food, great specials and very friendly service!

The Mariner Inn is a great spot in Playa Flamingo! Great indoor area and outdoor area with a pool. The staff is amazing and the food is wonderful also! We just popped in for some live music, New Zealand Lager, and some delicious nachos! The rooms are super nice and in a perfect location—playa Flamingo is the prettiest beach! Definitely check them out when you are in the area!
