The Tifakara was one of the most amazing hotels we've ever stayed at in my life! To start they have an amazing hot tub and swimming pool surrounded by the beautiful forest. It's quiet clean and peaceful. The rooms are like no other! The bathroom shower is partly outside but still secluded where you have your privacy. The deck is spacious and if your a nature person this is definitely the spot to be. Frank & Jose worked at the front desk and were there to help anytime we needed help or advice about activities and going in to town and they also would book the activities for us so we had nothing to worry about. Breakfast is included during your stay and was delicious everyday served with fruit and orange juice along with pancakes French toast etc. We will be coming back! Thank you for everything!

Quiet. Missing some important things to organise and improve. The surrounding nature and the proximity to la fortuna waterfall is the best!

STAY AT YOUR OWN RISK! My husband and I stayed at the Tifakara on our honeymoon in January. When booking the place, it had everything we were looking for. In the Jungle, Restaurant and Bar, a little ways away from town but still close, and most of all I fell in in love with the photos of the open rainforest showers. Upon our arrival we were happy to see how quant and beautiful the property was. We did notice the dogs that bark next door and also construction on property with noise and mud but that didn’t bother us. Our rooms were nice, and the staff seemed very friendly. Later on in the evening, after returning from town we wanted to settle in by the pool and enjoy a drink from their bar. We were then informed that they don’t have a bar or restaurant anymore (just breakfast). This totally caught us off guard, because that was one of the main reasons we booked this place, but we got over it. Our second day there, we returned from a day of adventures and were getting ready to go enjoy the hotsprings. After collecting our stuff, we asked the guy at the front desk the best place to go. We then left. Upon returning, our whole honeymoon got shattered. We walked into our room to find muddy foot prints in our room that led right up to where the safe was. The safe with all of our cash and personal belongings was stolen (well over $3500 in cash and valuables). That was when everything came crashing down.

After the upgrade everything was great! Standard rooms would not have been fair to the value for money. Breakfast is, as is usually the case, a choice of different things. We had tried the traditional, the tropical and the burritos. The toucans in the garden were great. Less than 5 minutes to the waterfall

This is a great little place to stay and well appointed for the price. You are well taken care of by the staff here. Know that you loose some things with a bargain rate: rooms were a bit cramped and rough on the finishes, it's outside of town so you are going to have to get a taxi to do anything, there is not much to do there. However it was a great value for the prices and I'm glad to stay away from the noise of Fortuna.

Hotel rooms are small, dark, wet, and noisy. Casitas are plagued by never ending construction. Restaurant is closed. Dog pound next door. Restaurant next to dog pound tries to drown out the barking with bad never ending thumping rave music. Result. … paradise ruined. Too bad because the owner is a great guy.

Improved in some respects. In reserve two nights they have not made the room; Breakfast included is cheapie…

Terrific stay! The accommodation was more than perfect, Frank at the front desk was the most helpful, I can't recommend it enough.

My Daughter and I stayed here about ten days the beginning of August. Everything was wonderful the food, the room and the management frank was awesome even went ziplinning with us when I was scared to try to drive to the area. There is lots of hot water great ac, plenty of food, exotic drinks. The gardens were breath taking and its only a ten minute drive to town. The manager booked our outings and was able to get us very good tours at great prices. The pool was clean and all the facilities along with the room was clean. The staff was beyond impressive, helpful, friendly, and went above their duty to make sure you are comfortable and happy. I will stay there again when we go back to LA fortuna.

Great quiet secluded hotel yet close to everything! Frank, one of the staff members, was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. He suggested many places to visit and restaurants to try. Everything he suggested was perfect. The hotel itself has comfortable beds and clean restrooms. It is only about a five minute walk or less to La Fortuna Waterfall. It is located about two miles from the center of the town of La Fortuna. It has a great view of Arenal Volcano. It is a little pricier than it should be though. Other than that it is great place!

Absolutely wonderful! Room was great! Food was fantastic! Great place to stay. And the staff was incredible! Thank you for such a wonderful time The only negative I had was the fan above the bed didn't work.

Small and beautiful. Not too big where there's too many people running around. Perfect. Nice and calm. 5 min away from the waterfall. Great food. Staff has amazing service and personality. Definitely returning here on my next visit!

Tifakara lodge was a great place to stay in la fortuna. The service was great, and breakfast is free. The rooms are cozy and we had a great view from the balcony. The best part was it was about a 5 minute walk (uphill) to the waterfall (which is what ti-fakara means). It is not an Uber fancy place, just a nice clean place to stay, with wonderful staff, nice rooms and a beautiful location.

By far my favorite hotel that I had the pleasure of staying at while traveling through Costa Rica. The service, accommodations and value were nothing short of incredible. There were two parrots that belonged to the property I was able to meet and there were so many other wildlife. Frank and his wife (managers) went above and beyond to help me plan my daily activities. The breakfast included, was a full meal with options of American or CR options with juice and coffee. It was hard to leave honestly lol. I will definitely be returning and telling all my friends and family about this true gem.

Really helpful staff, breakfast was good. Great place to stay if you want to be away from fairly busy Fortuna. Great access for hiking and the waterfall.

Peaceful… beautiful … Personal service. Excellent… own cabana in the rainforest with a balcony. Must do again.
