Review of Hotel Arenal Springs Resort & Spa 4*

We went here for our first time out of the US for our honeymoon. We stayed at a total of 4 hotels on our trip. This hotel was by far the best all around because of 3 things… the people who work there (Allan in particular and one other person who taught us Spanish at dinner. I forget his name : (), the absolutely beautiful pools/hot springs/ swim up bars and our room, and how safe we felt there. There was a hotel we stayed at after that was, on the outside, over the top. Private beach and automatic window shades and on and on. But the staff were terrible. There were bugs in the room and food was gross. The arenal springs hotel was the best because you just can't beat good service and gracious people. The little details they did for our honeymoon and how well they maintained the grounds and how quiet it was… So irreplaceable! The downsides. It is far from town and anything in walking distance so we had to take a lot of taxis. The breakfast was a bigger spread but I wished there were some options like oatmeal or fresh veggies. A vegan option like banana chia seed pancakes (egg free). My husband was happy because he had waffles and fruit and eggs and breads but I was stuck with fruit and rice and beans for 4 days. The other thing is the restaurants there. The really expensive one or the Italian one which was better priced but everything had gluten or dairy there. This was why we had to go to town a lot! Overall, I would definitely go back. I miss the staff already. Thank you to Allan and the other man who were so friendly and made us feel at home.
