This place was truly a piece of heaven! Rio Celeste is already a very special place, off the beaten track and blessed with a milky blue river and clouds that touch the ground. The posada was such a peaceful and beautiful place from which to explore the area. The staff was incredible welcoming and treated us and especially our children like family. The hotel is a farm to table family hotel that is one of the original in the area. The hotel rooms are comfortable and cool with bright colors and mosquito nets. There are beautiful gardens on the hotel grounds with fruit trees, herb and vegetable gardens, flowers and a stream. The included breakfast was huge and delicious and the other meals we had were also large and very fresh made with food from the family garden. There were two pet parrots that were bilingual and fun to watch. Our children loved exploring the grounds and we loved listening to the sounds of nature and watch the clouds roll over us. It is very close to Rio Celeste and the family owns a private trail through the jungle to a place where you can swim in the river. We had a wonderful time in this magical place. It was one of our favorite places in Costa Rica.

If you want to see the real Costa Rica come here for two nights. It is out of the way but very worth the trip. You can also walk to a nearby entrance to Rió Celeste where there are no crowds and you are the only ones swimming in the river. The crew is amazing here and make incredible typical Costa Rican food. Masseuse was amazing. Rooms adorable, clean and rustic. They have Wi-Fi and TV's but who really wants them with the gorgeous views around.

You have to go with 4x4 traction vehicle since the road can be very difficult for a normal sedan due to the rains and the very rugged terrace the inn is very rustic but there lies the charm, the nature is very healthy in the surroundings one day the owners Pusi Eron a stalk of bananas at the entrance to attract the birds, which devoured in less than a day an impressive heap of bananas beware of mosquitoes, are voracious, although at night I put the net around the bed, managed to enter and attack sanguínariament E. The national park is very nice and the Rio Celeste does not disappoint, but you have to walk a lot to get to a good point.

Buen lugar muy cerca del río celeste. Super tranquilo. Hay cabinas y una zona para acampar. El camino es un poco difícil de acceso en caro. Las personas están muy amables y la zona está muy linda. Bueno para quedarse después o antes de ir al parque.

Hay que ir con vehículo de tracción 4x4 dado que el camino puede ser muy difícil para un sedán normal debido a las lluvias y a la terracería muy agreste La Posada es muy rustica pero ahí radica el encanto, la naturaleza está muy saludable evitar los alrededores, incluso los dueños pusieron una penca de plátanos en la entrada para atraer a las aves, las cuales devoraron en menos de un día un impresionante montón de plátanos Cuidado con los mosquitos, son voraces, a pesar de que de noche puse la red alrededor de la cama, lograron entrar y atacar sanguíneamente. El parque nacional es muy bonito y el río celeste no decepciona, pero hay que caminar mucho para llegar a un buen punto.

Friendly. Country. Rustic. Close to the park. These cabins and land are owned by the nicest family who really take a lot of pride in making their guests feel welcomed. Each member of the family helps with a different aspect of the business and lives on-site. The cabins are about a 15 minute walk to Tenorio Volcano National Park where Rio Celeste is, about a 10 minute walk to the park of Rio Celeste you can swim in and a 30 minute walk to a coffee farm you can tour. Even though this is waaay up in the mountains, there is a TV in the cabin and their internet always worked. Other than these features, it is an unplugged experience. The cabins are tin roofs with no A/C or heat and mosquito nets over the beds. The sound of the rain on the roof will give you the best night's sleep ever! The cabins are quite rustic, so if that's not your jam, you may be happier at a more hotel-like place. Posada means hostel, so if you go in with that expectation, you'll be pleased. The walls are not sound proof at all, so keep that in mind when talking in your room! There is hot water although the pressure isn't great, but remember, it's rustic. They accept U. S. Dollars and local currency. Take time to explore around the cabins, because their garden is outstanding! Plus the owner (the mother) has two parrots — Francina and Francisco — who live in a nearby tree who are endlessly entertaining! The restaurant (La Amistad) is right there and served amazing food!

Excellent and privileged family place. Very helpful staff. The rooms are rustic, with some other nook in the wall between the wooden slats, but it has its charm. Hopefully you can see toucans, insects and birds right there. Very rich food. It has a mosquito net in the bed.

Delighted to be here. It is beautiful, very clean, the hospitality and the Natural beauty is incredible. The food is exquisite. The warmth makes me feel as if I were at home.

Awesome quiet place. The little walk to rio celeste which is not part of the National park is amazing. You also can swim there which is not possible in the national park. I really can recommend this place.

Truly amazing stay here at this family owned and operated resort. The family is unbelievably warm, kind and welcoming. The surrounding area is BEAUTIFUL. Food is made with love and quality ingredients, mostly casados/arroz with chicken/beef/fish but def one of the best meals we had during our 2 week stay. It's a very short drive from rio Celeste and the volcano national park. Meal times have roughly set hours — be sure to ask. At night they close the gate and turn off any unused lights, keep this in mind — but not an issue for us because it was such a beautiful stay and we never have woken up more refreshed.

La Posada Rio Celeste was nothing short of perfect. This was a very unique experience for my Canadian friends and I. The hotel is family run and has a very authentic charm to it. I want to extend a big thank-you to Elias as he made our experience so great with his kindness. Additionally, my friends and I agreed we had the best dinner of our entire trip at this hotel. Thumbs up thank you, thank you!

Very special stay here :) it's hosted by a very Kindle family. The room has his charme. Don't expect a lot for 2* hotel. We had a very great time here. Very helpful. The entry to the Rio Celeste national park is very close, like 10min walking.
