Wonderful place to stay hosted by a beautiful family. The host was kind enough to give us home grown fruit and was always available for advice if required. The villa is clean, comfortable and air conditioned with a kitchenette, bathroom, large bed and mini kids bed. There is Wi-Fi and a TV too. The pool is shaded and very private. The view from the property is gorgeous — the beach and golf course. The beach is a very short walk (tolerated by a small child) and absolutely beautiful with a coffee truck, food truck, shade and toilet to keep you comfortable all day. Would love to come back next time I return to Raro.
Great place with amazing views and privacy. Close to airport and main town. Beautiful pool and lots of lovely vegetation. Excellent Wifi and main bed.

My brother and I got in touch with Eric about staying with him for an upcoming trip to Rarotonga — he gave the all clear to book flights for the dates we were looking at coming for, but asked us to not book accommodation online — instead, to pay cash upon arrival. It was only after we booked our flights and sent him the flight details that we received an email from Eric saying that his villas had been booked online by someone else for that same period so we had to find alternative accommodation. As unfortunate as that situation was, we turned a blind eye, booked somewhere else and were still keen to come to surf.
We were still keen on going surfing with him and asked for budgeting how much he would charge per surf session to take us out (we were going for 5 days and were keen to go out 1-2 times per day) — Eric replied back saying $100 NZD per session which would cover both of us (highlighted in screenshot). We had no problem with that, brought enough cash over to pay for sessions.
At the end of the first surf he states there is a transfer fee of $50 (he picked us up and drove us 5-10 mins down the road to the surf break) and it'll be $100 PER PERSON — so $250 cash per surf session. Craziest part is, I brought up his own email to show him what he said about $100 total and he blamed it on using AI to write his email replies, said he didn't read over his reply to us before sending.
