Central Motel

This hotel has the best city location in Avarua — the capital of the Cook Islands. It is a 5 minute walk to supermarkets, nightclubs and wide range of shops. The rooms are quite spacious and the beds comfortable. The rooms has good air-conditioning. I was also allowed to access my room at 9:00am, well before check inn time — I really appreciate the management team, for making this possible. There is a small pool, which appeared to be clean and well maintained. However, there was some negatives. I saw a large cockroach in the bathroom. Although, they claim to include free Wi-Fi, it a very limited service. They includes 2 vouchers, which just Ok to view email. If you want to watch a video for about 5 minutes, the voucher is gone. However, reliable internet and affordable internet is a big issue in the Cook Islands. There is only one channel available on the TV. Don't be put off by the exterior of the building, which is not the best. The rooms are OK, and have all the essentials. The rates at this hotel are very favourable, when compared to pricey resorts, a long way from the centre of Avarua. I would still recommend this hotel for location and price.

Amazing Manager who was really helpful navigating my check in and late check out. Nice clean, comfortable bed and great shower pressure. Nothing fancy but everything you see and ideal location so close to town.

The motels are very handy to everything. Central and convenient. But they are desperate for some TLC outside. They're overgrown, and the concrete needs a damn good scrub. The rooms are very clean, the bed very comfortable and there is a small fridge and microwave, and very good aircon. The shower worked well, once I disassembled the head and cleaned it. Wasn't sure about having to clean the dishes in the bathroom basin.
At just over $160 a night, it was a steal!
