We adopted Shorty the sweetest doggie too.

What an amazing resort! We just spent 8 days here and couldn’t have been happier. Loretta is an absolute star—so warm, welcoming, and attentive—and the rest of the team were just as lovely. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure we had a relaxing and enjoyable stay.
The resort has everything you could possibly need: a fantastic bar and restaurant, a pool for guests, snorkeling equipment, kayaks, scooters, and rental cars—all right there on-site. It’s laid-back, friendly, and incredibly well run.
We felt so at home, we booked our next stay before we even checked out! Huge thanks to the team for a truly unforgettable experience. We can’t wait to return!

Absolutely amazing resort!
We just spent 8 days here and loved every minute. Loretta and the whole team were fantastic—super friendly, helpful, and made sure we had everything we needed. The resort has a relaxed vibe and everything on-site: great bar and restaurant, guest pool, snorkeling gear, kayaks, scooters, and car rentals. We felt right at home from the start. In fact, we loved it so much we booked our next stay before even leaving!
Thanks again to the whole team—can’t wait to be back!

Loretta was incredibly helpful in accommodating us after a mix up with our booked accommodation elsewhere. She was so welcoming and friendly. Just awesome. The Resort is fantastic with everything you would need. The staff were always smiling and friendly too. Best Ika Mata and Island Fries on the Island! Already booked for next year.

100/10 experience! I came here with my family and absolutely loved it. The atmosphere and vibe was so relaxed as it was an adults only resort. The restaurant/bar (Shipwreck) was amazing as well; the food and live music was awesome. You can see a live cultural show every Monday. Loretta the manager there was so accommodating and very lovely! She made us feel right at home and catered to us everyday. Also, the dogs that live here are so lovely and friendly🐶 the sunsets are so beautiful and happens right at the beachfront! Highly recommend staying here!

Gotta be the best value for money in Raro! Sitting in the incredibly authentic ‘Shipwreck Bar’you start thinking Tom Hanks is gonna wash up on the shore with Wilson in tow! My room was literally steps away from the shore and the sunsets are to die for! Food and beverages are surprisingly good value and your host Al is a real knockabout guy! We won’t stay anywhere else third year in a row this was!

Fun place to stay. The office people were friendly and helpful. Good breakfast included with fresh fruit and variety of cereals and spreads and juices. Lovely location. Watersport equipment available for no charge. Lovely beach right in front of shipwreck bar and also a nice warm swimming pool. Would come here again so that is a good recommendation.

Had an amazing time staying at Aroa Beachside Resort. Loretta and her team were so welcoming, and everything was well organized. They went out of their way to help us even when mucked up our booking due to the timezone difference to NZ. It was so convenient to cafes, restaurants, and takeaways. We also ate at the Shipwreck bar multiple times, and the food was great. It's a basic menu but super tasty! The bar shuts at 9 pm, so it was quiet after that. The pool is nice and new. The rooms were tired but the linen and bathrooms were clean. Room 10 was a great room with a beautiful view.

Really funky, relaxed place, rooms fairly basic but everything works as expected and beach front rooms have an amazing view. Nice new pool area and a great restaurant bar area (Panhead and Montieth's beers yea! ) with a good vibe with people coming and going for lunch and dinner. Staff and management were very accommodating and friendly. Weather wasn't that great this time around so will have to come back again and stay for sure.

Loretta and the Shipwreck team were amazing, any reasonable request was attended to. Food, cocktails and personalised service was excellent! Definitely will be recommending to family and friends. Will stay here again on our next visit to Rarotonga.

Beautiful location, right on the beach. Being able to see and hear the ocean from our room was a big highlight of the trip for me. Rooms are great and have everything you need. Staff are friendly and helpful. Resident dogs Luna and Lar are absolutely sweeties and very well behaved.

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful resort in Rarotonga! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The room was spotless, spacious, and had the most breathtaking ocean view — waking up to that every morning was a highlight of our trip.
The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive, always ready to assist with a smile. Their warm hospitality made us feel truly welcome and well looked after throughout our stay.
It was the perfect place to relax, unwind, and enjoy the natural beauty of the island. We would highly recommend this resort to anyone visiting Rarotonga!

Wonderful place, friendly staff, comfortable and clean rooms. Step straight out the rooms onto the beach and into the coral lagoon. It's a small, chilled vibe with a family feel.
The Shipwreck Hut provides meals and drinks, with evening live music.
Within easy reach, by island bus, car or scooter of the main town Avarua and other attractions.
Will definitely return!

We absolutely loved our stay at Aro’a Beachside. The location on the beach is just perfect. Great snorkeling and sunsets. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to look after you. The rooms were clean and spacious. The food, cocktails and entertainment was excellent at Shipwreck onsite. We can’t wait to come back.

We loved the location of A'roa, the lagoon was beautiful.
The service was great, friendly and professional. Friendly doggos hang around, but get territorial in the evening barking at passerby on the beach. If you are not a dog lover this may be a turn off.
The room has everything you need to be comfortable, except we had a ceiling leak (loud drip) after heavy rain. Staff were notified and we told that it is hard to get people to fix things in Rarotonga.
We could hear Roosters crowing from about 4am onwards! This didn't disturb us though, we laughed about it.
The food at the bar was average, I would eat elsewhere or self cater.

We loved this resort and had a cute studio room only steps from the beach. The Shipwreck bar is lots of fun, and the food was great—especially the Ike mate. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms have a bit of a rustic vibe, which I love, but if you’re accustomed to fancy 5-star places, go somewhere else. We’ll definitely go back here again.
