Hotel El Mohan

I had single room ensuite. Bathroom small, no hot water in the shower plus no force in the water. Bed was ok but slightly dirty with some marks. Wifi pretty good.  The owner was really lovely. Also offered me pick up from bus station for extra charge.

If you have to stay in Neiva, I recommend staying in this hostel. For about 40, 000 COP, I was able to stay in a private room with AC for one night and it was well worth it. Though the room is small and feels cramped at times, it felt good to have some privacy after mostly staying in dorms. The room had a bed, a TV with Netflix and YouTube, a shower and a toilet. The AC was much needed and appreciated as the heat in Neiva can get pretty bad. At night, I had to use the blinds for the window because a streetlight glares through the glass but the blinds do a good job of blocking out the light.
The hostel is located in a not so nice part of town but that doesn’t really matter. There is not much to do in Neiva anyway. Just do not go out at night and if you do want to then take a taxi. Be aware that Uber is not used here so there isn’t really any other alternative to using the taxi. Thankfully, the fares here are very fair.
I also liked the kitchen here as it had enough wares for me to use for cooking whatever I wanted to cook. Also it helped that there weren’t too many people staying here so it was pretty much always empty when I used it.
Overall, not bad. This was a decent place to stay while here in the town. The workers here were also quite helpful and provided us with a tour to the desert for one day which was lovely.

Very unpleasant temperatures.
Closer to a sauna than a hostal.
Literally 30°C outside and even hotter in the bedrooms.
And “no a/c because you’re paying only 25 000 pesitos”
