Refugio Explora Verde

We really enjoyed staying with Claudia and David, it felt like a home stay but so much privacy with a nice outdoor stay. We could enjoy some home cooked meals which were delicious!

We had a great time in a place surrounded by nature, peace and rest! David was super attentive at all times with a wonderful team. We hiked through the hidden valley, climbed, stayed at the camp. Super recommended, it is a wonderful experience!

Absolutely amazing experience! If you want to be in the middle of nature, beautiful views, not too far from waterfalls. David and Claudia are 2 beautiful souls that do everything in their power to make your experience everything you wanted. The most outstanding thing for me was the fact that you can tell every little detail was made with so much love! Truly a hug to the soul. Thank you guys!

A beautiful place to rest, the quality and warmth of its owners Claudia and David makes you feel at home.

It's a super quiet place, the attention is fabulous, the glamping are lindos. Se disconnect from the noise of the city, super everything.

I had the joy of spending new year there with my family and sharing with very nice people, the place is spectacular as well as the attention and atmosphere, we went to the Lagoon which is very close, and the village in general is very nice. I would definitely enjoy that experience again.

We chose Refugio Explora Verde as we hoped to use this as a base to visit Chingaza NP. Unfortunately, we were not aware of the rugged nature of the terrain, so this was not really an option. Nonetheless, David and Claudia suggested various other options to see birdlife in the area, which we tried. Finally, on our last day, David offered to take us to Chingaza in his 4x4, which we considered an amazing offer. The four of us had a great outing, even if we did not make it all the way to Chingaza, which we now know to be a serious driving challenge over very rough roads. But this is a good example of the accommodating nature of this wonderful couple. They really are prepared to make your stay enjoyable.
The lodge is beautifully situated, like an eagle's nest, overlooking a vast valley. It very comfortable and spacious. We enjoyed the remoteness of the refuge. In addition, Claudia produced some lovely meals, which we really enjoyed.

Positive: All meals were very enjoyable. David and Claudia went out of their way to help us find ways of finding bird watching locations, which is our passion. The view from the refuge over the valley is breathtaking. Lovely peace and quiet. Negative: No opening windows in our room. The road to the lodge is in a poor state of repair, so once there, you don't want to leave!.
