Tinto Hostel

One of the best hostels I have ever been to. It preserves its colonial and traditional buildings and made me feel part of the little town I was staying in. The service was really good too.

We spent a week in tinto hostel and we had a wonderful experience. The hostel itself is the best in Barichara. It has plenty of outdoor spaces which are shaded and breezy, as well as a nice swimming pool (the water is freezing but I don’t mind that). There are a lot of areas to relax and read a book while enjoying the views of the town and the birds tweeting, and to play cards and have dinner in the evening. The room we stayed in (private double) was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The shower is cold but that’s not an issue since Barichara is quite a hot town. The host was lovely, he gave us many recommendations on Barichara and he let us stay in a private room even though we had booked a dormitory, which was very generous :) we will definitely come again!

Wonderful hostel! A true gem in town. Our private room was clean, comfortable and very enjoyable. The whole hostel is very spacious, spread over several buildings and common areas. We were provided with all information you can imagine. Only downside is that the kitchen would benefit from better attention, it's a bit run down. But I would still happily come back here anytime. Thank you!

My favorite hostel! What an amazing place with fantastic common areas, a friendly host, and a lot of green around. Really enjoyed my time here.

Came there for two nights stayed only one,
Hostel is super cute but not clean,
And I was deceived as I found bug beds in the dormitories so I left the morning after.

Nice and green hostel.
Room was nice and big, bed comfortable but the room wasn't the cleanest with spider webs in every corner.
Javier is a nice host.
Good location.
Downside was the cold shower and the pool wasn't clean at all.
Kitchen is functional but could also be cleaner.

I can highly recommend Tinto Hostel! I originally planned to stay for a week but ended up extending my stay because it felt so comfortable and truly like home. Javier is incredibly kind and welcoming. The hostel is centrally located, making it easy to explore Barichara, and the terrace offers a stunning view over the town — perfect for relaxing.
If anything, a small suggestion would be to have one designated smoking area, to help keep the shared spaces even more enjoyable for everyone.

A really nice hostel with a pool, chill atmosphere, decent kitchen and good rooms. Javier was a lot of help especially for the walks along the Camino Real.

A big thanks to Javier for all the informations you share with us and the help you provided. The room was spacious, spotless and beautiful. The hostel's courtyard is really welcoming and is akin to a really lush forest. It's a peaceful and lovely place, really close from the town center. Couldn't recommend it more.

Originally booked one night here but extended for another because we enjoyed it so much, the room was gorgeous, there are cats and a parrot to keep you entertained, the staff were excellent and very knowledgeable on the area, overall 10/10, would recommend and would stay here again. One small recommendation would be a mosquito net in the room.

Great Hostel! — Price is amazing, atmosphere chilled, staff super nice, location perfect and beds really big. Plus they have free clementines, a pool and nice community spaces! There is no hot water, but that shouldn't be a problem after coming back all heated up from hiking the Camino Real or simply enjoying the beautiful weather of Barichara!

I loved how attentive Javier was, always available at any time of the night or the day. I kept extending my stay for several days in a row because I so much loved Barichara and really enjoyed my stay at this place. It was well kept, with super cute loving cats running around, comfy hammocks and the view from terrace was amazing. Great place to come back to from adventures during the day.

One of the best hostels I stayed in Colombia! The view from the terrace will just chill you out and unwind all stress. Javier is a great host and his hostel is simply a paradise. There is a mango tree in the hostel’s garden and mangos are collected and kept in a bowl for all guests to help themselves. Free coffee. Clean and comfy bedrooms and beds. Pool. Nice showers. All of that for a very reasonable price. I mean very reasonable!
