This review was deleted, but this needs to be seen. If I could describe our experience here in one word, it would be tragic. If I had a time machine, I would go back in time and stop the decision of even allowing myself to make a reservation at this so-called “resort. ” Where do I begin, the location of the resort is the reminiscent  of a Japanese prisoner of war camp. As you land, you decide to hop in a Van that feels like a sauna, pulling up after an hour of driving to a dirt road full of bumps and ditches which guides you through the wilderness of Baru. I have to emphasize how garbage the experience is mainly due to the 20 minute drive on an unpaved, dirt road. But I digress, the resort’s only high points were Pepe and the rest of the staff along with the breathtaking views and vistas. The rooms were clean and spacious. However, this does NOT make up for the rest of the sins this resort commits. The slop they serve can barely be called food at the buffet. The buffet did its best job of attracting every form of insect to breed. Not only was the food abysmal, the process of making reservations at the various al la carte restaurants was prehistoric at best, and grossly incompetent at worst. You have to wake up at 8 in the morning only to be greeted by an incredibly ridiculous line in the lobby which also home to possums, to make a reservation at a restaurant that barely raises the bar of trash they insist on serving. The place was also a breeding ground for stray cats.

Amazing hotel, super recommended. All very friendly, we had no inconvenience. We'd come back a thousand times.

This hotel is really bad. The food sucks. I got sick from the food. There was six black-outs in two days. The people that work at the jet ski stole money from me and never paid me back the cash that they owed me. If you are planning on coming keep in mind that most of the workers don't speak English. If you get "Plus" there still is bad Wifi connection not any at all. The drinks here are bad and they keep the drinks siting out so I always see bugs in and flying around the drinks. Even though there are a lot of bad things when the guest service comes they do a nice job cleaning the rooms and the beds are very comfortable. The safety isn't the best here either but there is a lot of security. The pools aren't cold they don't cool you down at all. The beach and the pools have curfews so if you trying to go on a late night swim don't because they will kick you out of the water. The only clubs and places to go is in the city which is 45 minutes to an hour away. They beach is very nice the water is very warm and it is clear so you can see the fish. Overall the place is not the best but it was worth being with the family.

The beach is beautiful, the water crystal clear, the place is a paradise. The hotel and its rooms are very comfortable. The food offer in the buffet restaurant is very varied. The pools are spacious and the entertainment activities varied. Some rooms are very remote and there are many stops to move between the different areas of the hotel which can be uncomfortable for people with reduced mobility or the elderly.

This hotel is terrible, not only is it trashy. On first approach we were treated with an over crowded buffet with people vomiting on the floor and no one cleaning it up. Only to find the service is non exsistent, hardly any drinks available, or bottle watered was not allowed. To find after the second day after having to eat at the only restaurant, I found myself and serval other guests ill. Not being able to eat for two days and not allowed bottled water when needed made this experience terrible. For the price paid for “VIP” it is an absolute rip off. Stay somewhere cheaper and buy your own drinks and food of your own choice. Do not bother!

We loved it here… we are coming back! There is so much to do and the food and drinks are good! The entertainment is fun and the staff was super nice. Not many people who speak English! Download Google translate… But we still had an amazing time! Do go across the water to the free beach part for food and drink.

Beautiful place for the family or to plan a couple. The service and the customer service is unbeatable; the food is delicious, the drinks unlimited, the beach is quiet and captivating. Destination of many argentines and uruguayans in the first months of the year.

It is important to rip off in mind that if you have a physical problem, keep in mind that because the distances are long between rooms, remaining, pools and beaches. In addition there are a lot of stairs and I saw no elevators. Another thing that in my opinion they have to improve is the quality of the drinks whether drinks, juices or sodas, it's all very watered down.

Great Value, the food is good with lots of variety, the rooms are very clean and we'll kept, can't beat it for the money. I would say it's 4 star but for what you pay it's more like a 5 star. The spa services are great just missing a hot tub but who wants that in this heat when you already have an amazing steam room.

Great food, large clean facility, friendly staff. One thing however, do not trust the staff to bring your luggage to the lobby for your departure; you will make it late to the airport. Just bring your own luggage to the lobby.

Clean resort, not very many English speaking staff or people so pre download Spanish on your Google Translate for easy communications. Rooms were clean and nice. Be prepared for some stair climbing though. The Scuba team was amazing and very patient with some newbies, taking the time they needed rather then taking the money and letting them run. Highly recommend the scuba!

Incredible value for the price. Rooms are big and clean, drinks were plentiful and tasty. Food was by far the best I had at any all inclusive (Cuba, Honduras, Mexico) Beach is beautiful, you need to lay a towel down before 8 to get a decent location. Staff were friendly, english is a bit of a issue but I found it easy to work around.

So far so good! On day 3 & we've had an amazing vacation. Lots of wonderful staff & guests. Would come back & recommend to others!

They've let it deteriorate in their facilities. I got a room with a leak in the shower that kept me awake. They painted it very chambón staining everything. The decor in the rooms is very regular. The service as for crowds. Good toilet. Lack of management.

The hotel is imposing as it is built on different levels. Surrounded by jungle and the friendly attention of the. Employees. The spacious, very comfortable rooms always offer a good view.
The sea is fabulous, one can be hours.
The only problem is the place where the shows do, very uncomfortable the stands, you can not enjoy.

Although it was only one day, it's worth staying in this hotel if you are looking for tranquility, comfort, excellent weather and food. Very friendly staff and the beaches are very clean, plus they are private. It's a place to disconnect from the rest.

Good service, beautiful hotel. Only criticism I have is that they charge the Wi-Fi and the safes! It is a basic service in any hotel, and with what it costs this hotel, should be included.

Nice place, nice experience. Food is OK but nothing fancy. There's a lot of activities and amenities. Also, you can rent boats, kayaks and sailboats. The bar is good but short in options. Is a nice place for families or couples looking for good vacations in the Caribbean.

This is an all-inclusive hotel about 75' by road from Cartagena. We stayed there for 4 nights. It's ok in most of the provided services. The staff is nice and ready to attend customers' requests. The place is clean and has beautiful sea landscapes. The Wi-Fi internet is charged apart, which is already criticable, but its low quality and short coverage make it basically a rip off. It only works semi-properly in the hotel lobby, but no one mentioned/warned us about that before charging the service.

An upscale resort with beautiful views from many rooms and white sandy beaches and great swimming pools. Attentive staff. Good dining with a great selection but don't expect what you are used to at home if you are not a local.

Loved it, had an amazing room with ocean front view. Food was very good. The ocean was one of the best, crystal clear warm water. Great walks on the beach. Temperature was around 35 degrees every day. Long ride from airport but well worth it.

We traveled from Spain to meet Baru, we had spoken very well of this hotel and the experience was disastrous first:
-Room service is bad they manage very late and one day at 11 o'clock we arrived at the room not had previously arranged call on 4 occasions and we went to the reception of the hotel and not thereupon arranged…
-We speak with the staff to speak to the Manager and they made us wait more than 30 minutes and not attended us. A total disgrace…
-At the restaurant waiters in dinner began to sing and to use a water drum bottle for more than half an hour.
-There are several restaurants where is required upon reservation in the morning and very bad service take to serve, to serve and a total lack of control.

A true all inclusive. The animators are the most. Varied food. Great beaches.

Amazing hotel on Péninsula de Baru between mangroves and white sand Caribbean beach!

Amazing! I went on vacations with my husband and my two daughters (11 months and 3 years old), it was so relaxing, the girls enjoy the beach, the pools and the entertainment for kids every night give us a break, the show for adults were pretty good too. The food was good and all the staff is always looking after you and you needs. We Love it! make sure you have a lot of singles for the tips :) I hope the Decameron Organization help the town around the hotel, by land the ride to the hotel is a little overwhelming.

Excellent place to enjoy while you rest, I believe that to the fullest. The high number of satisfied — domestic and foreign — tourists make a very good opinion of this great hotel. Very careful services in any of its many sites.

I did not know that we had excellent resorts such as these so close to home. It is worth to know and to enjoy in family or in couple a week here.
