Stunning hotel couldn’t fault it. Beautiful building, great location just outside the old town walls and close to everything, staff were lovely, roof top pool is perfect for escaping from the heat and rooms and clean and spacious. Highly recommended!

Beatiful place with a nice Room and service, neigborhood its safe and close to every thing in city. In a few steps of hotel you can find restaurantes, câmbio Exchange and drinks. Extrapoints for José a great hotel receptionist always ready with the best tips for city.

Cannot ask more for the price. 13 minutes walking distance from the touristic area, which is good for people who wants to have an idea of the real life, but it can be an issue for people who don’t like to walk in the heat. It’s next to the best pizza in town, Beer and Laundry, so don’t worry if you read that your hotel’s restaurant is only able to provide breakfast. If you are European, you won’t mind the size of the rooms. Its all about perspective.

The sheets were dirty and had dried blood on it. I requested to have the sheets changed, but it wasn't changed even after the room service the next day. When I brought it up with the front desk, they said they *might* change the sheets next day. I asked to do an early checkout but they wouldn't refund me for the remaining nights. I booked another hotel anyway, and moved there.

Small boutique hotel that is very tastefully decorated, without pretention. Very friendly helpdesk staff. Rooms extremely comfortable, pretty and clean. 10 minute walk through the park to get to the walled city center.

Nice hotel in a great location in the old town. Originally our room was on the ground floor — opening out onto the kitchen (noisy from 6am when they start preparing breakfast) this also meant we had no window with a view but they happily changed our room to the second floor the following day. Great breakfast included. Showers are a little hit and miss (first room no pressure/second room like a pressure washer) but other than that would recommend as a base for a couple of days in Cartagena.

Excellent attention. The location is very close to the walled city. The neighborhood is safe day and night. The pool is small but very clean and nice.

Muy buen precio, habitaciones muy lindas u limpias. El baño se quedó un poco pequeño y la piscina también. No está ubicado en la mejor parte de la ciudad, así que es recomendable evitar caminar cerca del hotel sobretodo en las noches. Siempre entrar y salir de la calle en taxi/carro. La calle se llama en realidad Calle de Magdalena. La vista no es la mejor como pueden ver.

Booking a boutique hotel in Cartagena is one of the best things about visiting this area. Casa Canabal was located within walking distance to the main walled city, go the opposite direction and it gets sketchy. The hotel itself is clean and looks nice. The service on the other hand needs help. To be a 4 star hotel, you can't have the current level of service this hotel offers. The website does not show the check in or check out hours. For your info, check in is 3pm, check out is 1pm. You won't find that anywhere but inside the hotel. Breakfast hours are shown on all their paperwork as 6-10am. We woke up at 6am in order to eat breakfast and get ready to go on a tour at 8am. Imagine our surprise when we found out it doesn't start until 7am, again, something their documentation contradicts. We were given 3 different rooms. The first one didn't have a door on the bathroom, something my husband and I are not cool with, so we refused the room. The second room was small, and had no windows except to the internal hallway, it felt like a cave and was very disappointing. We asked for another room, this one was the best of the rooms and was just off the lobby. We had to wait almost 2 hours for 2 people to clean the room. I'm not sure how it takes 2 women 2 hours to clean that room, but they did. The Wi-Fi is terrible at best, and only works in the lobby (sometimes). On our second day, they begin working on the lobby.

This hotel has been nicely remodeled but its still going thru its growing pains. The personnel is friendly for the most part and breakfast it's alright. It's within walking distance of Torre del Reloj and 10 minutes away from the airport. Its clean and comfortable, but the rooms on the first floor really don't have exterior windows. The check in/checkout times are not in their webpage, which rearranged my first day in Cartagena and had to wait a long time to get settled. The first room I was given was missing the bathroom door, assuming no one would ignore that, my assumption is, they were going to try to see if I said anything about it. I'm not there yet in my relationship with my wife, where I feel comfortable using the toilet without a door so I requested a new room. The second room I was given had no Wi-Fi, they offer Wi-Fi service so my expectation was to get one. I'm on vacation but communications back home are needed at the end of the day. This is 2017 not 2007. Breakfast starts at 7 am not 6 am as stated in their key card schedule. This messed up the start of my second day as I was meeting with a group early morning and had to look else where for breakfast. The third day started with remodeling in the court yard at 7 am so it pretty much messed up my last day where I was planning to wake up as late as I could to catch my flight. My take is, with some many other good reviews, I just had a bad experience.

Good hotel, clean rooms, but dirty pool.

Getsemani is small, so you can walk anywhere easily, and the old town is also an easy walk. So although the street seems bare of anything interesting, you're close to food and drinks. The room I got was tiny, with a trickle of a shower that seems to be the norm in Colombia. It was very clean and appealing in a spartan way. The pool is more of a large soaking tub, like in most hotels here. In your room you'll find some laundry detergent to use I the laundromat that's attached to the hotel. The staff were very friendly.

I was in the family suite with a friend on July 19, 2015 and I loved it because they even allowed us to be with two prostitutes and sold us marijuana is amazing.

The Resturante service is personalized very elegant and the site very private special for romantic dinners although we were with 2 children and also was well.

The quite and clean enviroment make it a great place. On the other hand there are great places around. Thefood is excelent. Definetely a five star hotel.

Very modern with an old cartegena feel!

The hotel is great, staff was very nice, the room was clean and the breakfast also good. The street where it is located, however, is not the best. Even though I did not feel unsafe walking around (and it was just 10 minutes walking to the nicest areas), it was not a pleasant walk. Regardless of the location I really enjoyed my stay there.

This was absolutely a beautiful hotel! A gem in the lively and amazing neighborhood of Getsemaní. Great location also. Within short walking distance to the old city. Great pool on the roof. The hotel staff was great at booking day trips as well which were all amazing. Highly recommended a day tour with Jhomatan. Ask Eduardo at the front desk for details! He is a guide for the mud volcano, playa Blanca, Santa Marta and other spots. Don't miss out! Don't book tours online. Trust the hotel staff to take care of this for you. Another favorite was the day trip they booked for us to hotel del isla encanto. Well worth the 165 dollar (American). Will return to this hotel! AC unit was a plus!

Amazing value, perfect location in the hip Getsemani neighborhood, walking distance from the historic centre.
the service it's fantastic, from cleaning, breakfast, reception and management.
The rooftop pool is a great differentiator, very pleasant in the evenings also.
The finishings and the details are high class. Quiet new AC, large TV.
We booked two nights, but we extended to 6 nights, it was a treat.

The hotel and services are ok… But the outside is terrifying! The people speaking loud and music all night NON STOP! Impossible get resting… Nothing recommendable!
