This iconic place in Barranquilla, is open again, recovering the beauty of the city's architecture. It's like time travel and walking through great ballrooms, beautiful and the attention is excellent.

I lived in Barranquilla for 8 years in 80s. After all this time we stopped by Hotel el Prado. Although Hotel is under goverment control, its beatiful outside and inside. We loved the pool area and the palms around it. Service and food was excellent. Bar service is top world class. The Hotel is currently under full renovation, so rooms are brand new. The only black spot was, since Hotel is undergoing renovation, one migth be fully awake early in the morning due to work being done in up floors. I recommend the Hotel.

Splendid architecture. A little sloppy, but not much can be done as it is architectural and cultural heritage. There is a new tower with all the comforts. The restaurant service was a little late. But there is an attitude of change that is the important thing.

The city's emblematic hotel, popularly known as the sandy, gives us a passage into the past almost a century ago, preserving the elegance of the 1920s we discover why Barranquilla became the most important city of the time. With its green spaces, it becomes the best hotel for everyone. Its immense pool gives us the feeling of being free in mind, body and soul. The best hotel without a doubt. I recommend it.

One of the historic hotels in Barranquilla, pitifully in the middle of legal lawsuits, which has made it deteriorate considerably. The pool area is still nice and the pizzas are very good.

The pool is beautiful. Pretty deep to be from a 3mts hotel. The food is delicious… for nothing expensive. Very nice service from the waiters. The bathrooms are rather feitos, just understandable by the age of the hotel. I hope you sell fruit salads.

Several times I have gone there to pass or to have a drink. It is noticeable that it is a traditional place in the city and feels a very nice atmosphere. It has been restored and renewed.

A historic and emblematic hotel in the city where very prestigious events and Carnival events have a swimming pool, spacious rooms, bar bar, a pizzeria and most importantly a friendly staff willing to give you the best customer service and the best Attention to make you feel comfortable and at home.

Very good hotel and its food has improved a lot, should lend a little more attention to the facilities and q many of them are quite deteriorated.

I always liked this hotel for what it represents for Barranquilla.

Just paint and wall arrangement. Obsolete rooms. An emblematic site with architectural richness. It should look better. Flats in poor condition it is possible to get tiles in Pompeii neighborhood Las Nieves. And crystallize floors.

Very nice. The rooms are excellent. The only thing is that the employees apparently do not give them a training to cater to the tourist on issues like the places to meet in the city.

A nice place. It is possible to visit even if you are not a customer by asking permission at the entrance. The interior garden is very nice. I advise you to have a drink. The "Café Machiato Frio" is a killing (very very good)!

We have stay at the hotel a couple times. Our stay at the Hotel del Prado has always been a wonderful one, my family enjoyed the pool and plaza. The rooms decor were a bit outdated, but we did not spend much time in them, only to sleep and shower. The food and service was very good and we will certainly come back once we visit barranquilla again. There is so much history and detail that it adds a certain charm to this hotel.

It is a very nice place, however its facilities are old and accessories like lights and chandeliers in bad shape. The air conditioner in the auditorium doesn't work very well so when the attendance is pretty big it gets to get very hot.

Great historic site. The plaza is beautiful, and the pool is very well maintained. As a whole it's better than most hotels in the area. But the rooms. Really need to be updated. Shower head was broken. AC unit above the door wasn't sealed, and leaked on you when you opened the door.

It is a hotel with a lot of history in Barranquilla, but the bad administrations and the hotel unions have led to a decline in the hotel's infrastructure. Compared to the new luxury hotels in the city, there is a giant gap but it is also a very good hotel.

It is a different hotel with the charm of the traditional, guests must prepare for remodeling spaces and basic rooms. The friendliness of all the staff is to highlight and the pool is a place to enjoy a nice dip or a cocktail and a beer to the surroundings, the area is safe and with several options for eating and shopping nearby.

What a fancy place! We had delicious cocktail drinks by the pool in shell loungers for a few hours. Was nice to be out of the sun and laying somewhere comfortable. The staff was very attentive and the grounds of the hotel were gorgeous.

What a joy to see how this treasure of our city has been rescued. You can see the changes that the new administration is implemented with a lot of dedication and respect for our heritage. Excellent attention, and the new exquisite pizzeria recipes.

It was disgusting been there. The room that they gave us for a full price was a dump, worst than the worst motel in the world. Images talk more than thousand words. Dirty, wrecked and nasty.

If your looking to step back in time and stay at a beautiful Hotel then this is the Hotel for you. Exceptional service and a wonderful experience staying there.

Being a Colombian native and from Barranquilla, I had such high hopes for this hotel. There wasn’t one single good experience I can count from this hotel, first when they say free Wi-fi they mean in the lobby area since the signal is so weak it does not reach the rooms, there are no ice makers in the whole hotel, if you want ice you have to go buy it across the street. The breakfast food seemed to be reheated every other day and the staff is not very attentive in the restaurant. There is no staff after 4 pm for any housekeeping needs or emergencies. But what distressed me the most is that I was changed from rooms due to the mattresses being in horrible state and they were all in the same state, you can see the actual springs through the fabric, needless to say it was impossible to get a restful night sleep when those springs are poking you all night long, which is sad since a comfortable bed is the least any hotel should offer regardless of how many stars they have. I have gotten better rest at less expensive hotels in the USA. There is no mini bar service and if you want water, you have to go and buy it from an outside store, management is a total joke since all they say is “I’m sorry, but there is nothing I can do about that” for every issue. I could not stay for the length of my stay under these circumstances so I moved to a different place for the rest of my stay in Colombia.
