Location was great, way access to the train station, and walking distance from a lot of nightlife. Facilities were clean. The bar on the roof is a great place to mingle with other travelers, and drinks are cheap.

Service and bathrooms are beautiful. Rooms have very limited circulation even with a fan, so it was a little warm.

Very friendly staff from owner to lady's that keep the hostel tidy. Located close to resturants, clubs, parks and more. Free breakfast in the morning was nice and you can bring your own food and cook through out the day also if you like. I have decided to move to Colombia and if I do not have an apartment lined up when I go back I will be sure to stay here again until that process is complete.

Good rooms, nice baths and toilets. The rooftop terrace has a nice vibe, this is not really a party hostel though. Best Wi-Fi I have had on my South America trip until now.

What a great hostel! Super friendly and helpful staff, and right in the middle of the true heart of poblado. It has everything you would expect from a quality hostel, including a common room, kitchen, amazing terrace, excellent hot water in showers and breakfast, beer for sale.

Great time in purple monkey. Stayed there for 11 days over the christmas time. Staff were amazing. Bar is cheap. Super clean. Can bring friends over for a party. Quite after 12. Perfect place to explore medellin. Great place to meet people.

This Hostel has a great vibe, was very clean (it seemed like staff was always cleaning the kitchen, bathrooms, showers, and floors), safe, has a nice upstairs open patio area, and has hot water in the upstairs showers — just be careful when someone else starts their shower, or stops, as it's all connected and you'll be sure to get quite the temperature change. The staff was great too, Julio was very accommodating and made us feel welcomed. One really cool feature: the pull out storage lockers had charging outlets in them, which was really handy to charge your electronics while they are locked away. Definitely recommend you check out this hostel if you're staying in the El Pablado area.

Nice place to stay temporarly, staff is friendly and they have breakfast for free (you have to make your own breakfast) It is also really close to the poblado metra station as well as exito supermarket!

— — — — BED BUGS — — — — — After finding bed bugs in my bed I asked for a fresh bed. As the hostel was full they offered to change my sheets. I accepted and showed the first staff member the bugs. A second staff member came to see the bugs, I showed her. Our conversation was calm and polite. Then a third older woman came, upon entering she called me a liar and said it was my fault for being a dirty person. I did not appreciate this accusation and denied it. In the process I raised my voice. The woman yelled that I had to leave immediately. I attempted to explain the situation to the owner. He responded by saying the older cleaning woman had worked 7 days a week without a day off in 3 months. Our conversation was calm and polite. He stated that he had to side with his staff. I was then kicked out of the hostel at 10:30pm at night. While I can understand his position I did not appreciate this treatment. I went to a hostel across the street. There I met three other tourists who had left the purple Monkey due to bed bugs that day.

Nice showers and holds good events. Also nice bar area. Not quite a party hostel but somewhat close, don't expect to get too much sleep if you're a light sleeper.

The hostel has an excellent vibe, lots of chill out areas and plenty more areas for the more lively bunch. The breakfast is pretty standard but there is enough to help yourself with and if you come prepared, you shouldn't be disappointed. The beds are amazingly comfy with plenty of space to lock your valuables (including a drawer to charge your valuables safely). The staff are absolutely fantastic here, one of the ladies refused to let me clean up after myself and would just always be on hand to help you with whatever you need. The amazing man on reception also ran 4 blocks to chase me after I left as I forgot my kindle and iPod… Talk about a stand out guy. Absolutely love this place and WILL be staying here again when I return.

Really good hostel! It is very clean and one of the best breakfasts I have had in a hostel in South America. Additionally, the staff are very friendly and attentive. The bar crawl with Julio is very fun. He puts a lot of time and effort into the event and makes sure all the guests are well taken care of. Overall an enjoyable stay.

I stayed on this hostel a for a few days. It was really clean, organized and well located inside the city. Near by clubs, restaurants, bars, malls, markets, gyms, public parks an that kind of stuff. But the thing that make me fall in love with the place was the staff, they were not just kind, but also really helpful and funny, their charisma and warmth with guests was just exceptional, made really good friends there. Otherwise the hostel haves amazing turistic guides for what you can do while you enjoy the city and how to get to the places.

Juan the receptionist (staff) was very raciste, after noticing that I was the only one who was charged money of the room upfront (common think in Colombia even though the 2 one I went never asked me upfront, I paid when I check out) so I went down and tried to understand the situation, so I asked him about the 2 girl that check in the room (german girl) why he didn't ask them to pay upfront as I did hear him telling them that they can pay when they check out and before that I did her 2 other german guy as well speaking that they have to pay the guy as well the next day when they check out, so initially he answered me About the guy that they where already their before and so he know them, so I asked what about the 2 girl, then he did tell me : hooo I see what u think, I told him : ok tell me then, he say yeah I know u think because they are blond and german and u are … (didn't finish his phrase but of course we understand), I answered: well yes that what I think then prove me wrong, I mean I gives u the reason why I think you are racist, well tell me im wrong and explain to me, anyway so e keep arguing and he keep telling me that was in my head, blablabla, of course the discussion went up on tension then he start telling me : if u where french u wouldn't act like you do!, I said: what do u mean? (by if u where french), he said : yes u giving me a french passport you are not even french, I know people like you Immigrant, u not even french!

This was the best hostel I stayed in. In South America. The atmosphere is great and the bar on the roof is awesome. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the Beds are super comfortable. I love these guys!

I loved this hostel. It was amazing. Everything was great. I was warmly greeted by a great staff. They took care of all my needs and accommodated me. The rooftop bar was so fun and the place had the best atmosphere! Best hostel in Colombia.

about 10 minutes from Parcque Lleras nightlife definitely recommend.

We booked for two nights and ended up stopping over a week!   Everything about this place was perfect, from the friendly staff (big shout out to Julio and Jeferson! ) who helped us with absolutely everything, from booking flight tickets to ordering pizzas!   The hostel only opened a few months ago and everything is so new.   The mattresses are really comfortable and the plug sockets under the bed mean you can leave your stuff charging in the day when you go out knowing that it will be safe when you get back.   The hostel has a great vibe, its not a party hostel but still has a sociable environment and we met lots of new friends there.   The rooftop bar is big and fun but closes at midnight so those who want to party can walk 5 minutes to the nightlife area and those wanting to get some rest can do so.   The neighborhood is quirky with lots of art galleries and the restaurants we ate at were really good too (much better than those chain restaurants around Lleras park) Once a week they put on a free movie night on a giant screen on the terrace which given the warm medellin evenings is the perfect activity for a night in.   We also really enjoyed the football tour which was arranged through the hostel. The whole hostel is really clean and the cleaning staff always say hi when they see you which really makes you feel at home.   We didnt want to leave!

We had a great time here! The staff go out of their way to help, the beds are really comfortable and the roof terrace is the perfect place to meet people. Definitely recommended!

It is the best hostel where I stayed, very nice located in one of the best areas of medellin and near the lleras and metro, very clean, the staff is very good always ready to help you, beds comfortable, rich breakfast, very good Wi-Fi, the atmosphere is incredible its bar is great, they have very good football tour and on the terrace movie nights, a place to come back and recommend without hesitation.

The hostel itself is quietly located and close to El Poblado metro. As far as cleanliness, it could have been better. I was satisfied and happy until I went to sleep and got attacked by bedbugs. I had to show the owner, he switched my bed immediately and apologized, offered to allow me to treat my clothes with the drier before leaving. However, on the second bed, I got bit again. I am checking out tomorrow but will not be coming back. I hope that I don't have any contamination in my clothes and luggage and that's not something you want to worry about on vacation.

Super hostel I had an amazing time here. I would definitely recommend this hostel. If I came back to Medellin I would stay here again. Jefferson is a little legend behind the front desk always ready to help.

Looks at first sight nice, but there are many cockroaches. One ran at night over my body. The staff was very unfriendly. They didnt do something. After a lot of questions they changed my bed. Dont go to this nasty hostel!

This hostel is awful. I got bed bugs at this hostel, which is unfortunate but it happens and it's not the hostel's fault or mine. However, they did not deal with the issue appropriately at all. They were so horrible it was unbelievable. I slept in the bed for two nights. After the first night I thought they were mosquitos bites, but after the second night with 50+ bites, I realized they were bed bugs. I asked to switch beds but they said the hostel was full. I asked to sleep on the roof or the couch and they said no. They were completely disinterested in dealing with the problem. I had to ask them a few times to find me another hostel for the night but everything was full because it was Friday night in Medellin. They kept telling me to just sleep in the same bed bug bed again. The next day, the owner refused to give me a refund for any of the last 3 nights, citing that I'd used their electricity and free breakfast (all of 2 eggs and some fruit). Most pathetic excuse ever. And he tried to blame the bed bugs on me which is just rude and impossible because I had just arrived in the country only days ago from home. All he offered was to do my laundry. Terrible human being with zero hospitality or social skills. Aside from that, the rest of his staff are useless, the dorm rooms are insanely stuffy and hot, and there is little info from the staff.

Spectacular! Everything you could want from a hostel, great staff, very clean and tidy and the rooftop bar is great fun!

I've stayed here two months after the opening and It was fine. The staff was nice but it didn't feel like they know a lot about attractions around town and if they did they didn't offer the cheapest ones. The breakfast is great, the rooms are nice and the showers are outside with hot water depends on the hour.

Good hostel, we'll run and breakfast is help yourself. The beds are comfy showers are outside, however they have strong pressure. Would recommend staying here. Also book direct the owner is smart and gives you a discount!
