Best to walk sections of the lake over several days. If short on time you are able to walk around in 2.5-3 hours or so. It starts to get busy at 5pm and peaks around 6-630pm (depending on what time sunset is). Time accordingly.

Too crowded. Along with the West Lake bank, there are so many legendary buildings and sites. Shuttle service is well planned and organized. The music fountain is not impressed if you have watched the water fountain in Las Vegas.

West Lake truly is one of the most romantic place in China. I've spend one evening just strolling around West Lake and I feel that this place is really amazing. The park is very clean. The trees, the bridges, the pavillions, the temples, and also the lake itself are really beautiful. I really had a goot time here.

Located to the west of Hangzhou, West Lake is one of the main ornamental freshwater lakes in mainland China and is also a lake-type cultural heritage in the World Heritage List. I love this place. Best place to enjoy the evening and sunset. We don't need to pay money (except if you want to take the boat). I went here 2 times and every evening there were a group of people who danced (i guess)

We visited here last month and it still forms a vivid picture in my mind every time I think of the pristine lake with such a picturesque background. I would recommend everyone to visit this before it becomes as much as a tourist attraction as the Great Wall of China!

The most beautiful lake u will ever seen. This lake is crystal clear and changing colors (reflection) depends on seasons. Im visiting in summer and the lake scenery is amazing. The on-site staff is nice and helpful. Recomended!

As one of the Emperor's of China said: there is a paradise in heaven and Hangzhou on Earth! I must admit the unique beauty of this place! The nature is mesmerising, the cultural experience is unforgettable! I must tell you — a must see place! I take one star off because of the crazy crowds of people…

I really like this lake. Very nice and quiet and in the evening around 20:00 there is also music with water fountains and lights a very nice show however you have to get at least 30 mins first to take place.

Just loved this place for it's serenity. Take a ride or just walk around. Amazing food options available near it.
