Best location in Shanghai. Near the market & bund side.
Breakfast was excellent. Buffet dinner was also exceptional.
Rooms are big & well equipped with all your basic requirements. Overall it was a excellent stay.

Very tired old hotel with rooms that have never been renovated. Breakfast at restaurant is like a make shift setup stall that cater to masses. Spread is unappetizing and food not delicious. Only plus is the great location. Scary scary ala Le meridian.

Had a two month stay in April. The service has gone down hill, rooms look and feel tired (I had a large suite)
the hotel is undergoing an exterior renovation which effected the closing of the restaurants. It used to be a wonderful place but unfortunately I have no desire to stay there again. Far too many other places in the near vacinity that are much better.

It really annoys me that if you stay more than 1 night and have schampoo/soap left in the tubs they still throw them away and give you new ones. Such a waste of plastic. Prefer the big refillable tubs in hotels but at least don’t waste the tubs when more than half is left. Then in all rooms I’ve stayed in during the year the bathtubs have had mould. Otherwise good hotel but those two things really pulls rating down for me.

Excellent location! Excellent staff! Went with a suite which gets you access to the club lounge with free breakfast, dinner tea time and 3 hour happy hour. Plus Pepsi, water, beer, etc. All day. Think they might even offer lunch. Nice pool and locker room with showers, steam room and sauna. Will definitely be our new place in Shanghai.

SPG hotel closest to People's Square. Exit No. 19 is the most convenient exit of subway station to this hotel entrance. Most rooms have gorgeous view while they also have areas to improve in terms of maintenance.

The Hotel itself is good. Been there twice now, unfortunately this visit there is construction going on. Getting to the rooms is a bit of a hussle due to elevators being really slow and there are quite some floors. If you get into the hotel, you have to take two different elevators. From the bar on floor 62 you have a very nice view over the city. The Spa is okay, nothing special tho. What is special, is the location. Its perfect for walking down to the bund.

During the daytime and if you have not turned on DND, the housekeeping crew will make rounds asking if you need anything. Location is excellent as well, next to the People's Park and shopping malls nearby, and next to the pedestrian walkway that will lead you all the way to the Bund…

The best hotel I've stayed in, the view is magnificent in the evenings, you can see the whole city of Shanghai.
Very comfortable beds, great bathroom supplies, air conditioning that works great, in the period we were staying at the Le Royal Meridien, in Shanghai we were 43 degrees and it was a very warm heat, as soon as you entered the hotel it was like being in paradise, with a Temperature approx. 22 degrees.
At the reception they were very kind, they explained to us the various functions that were available in the room and the various floors of the building.
The guys on the ground floor were very accommodating, they called taxis and they helped you with your luggage.

I think this is the old building in Shanghai five-star hotel, the hotel room is not as spacious as the imagination, there is no direct access to the elevator, but the service staff is really good, the room cleaning is also very careful, because the individual with children, washing bottles will be placed in another dry nipple, the room staff is very intimate under the pacifier mat and the table to isolate, Such a intimate little act instantly elevated my view of the hotel, if you have children, I would recommend this hotel, the transportation is very convenient, three minutes on foot to arrive very lively Nanjing Road, the hotel appearance characteristics are also quite obvious, there are two sharp long column, the room also has a large floor-to-ceiling window, the scenery is quite beautiful, It's a good restaurant worth a visit.

One of the tallest hotels in Shanghai. Situated very near to Bund area and nearby shopping street. Rooms are good. Food is good but the tariffs are very high. Need to book in advance to save cost as the cost increases drastically if you are biiking on the same day.

Very nice hotel. Awesome room with a great view! Amazing breakfast that is included! Only downside is there is construction on the first 9 floors so those are currently closed. Also, the clubs/ bars on the top floors are not very used, so not a lot of people in them.

Five-star hotel, the hotel is located in Shanghai bustling Nanjing Road pedestrian street and the people's Square, under the building is MRT People's Square station. The hotel is not the whole building, because there are several floors below the mall, lobby on the 11 floor, so check-in is to take the elevator to the 11 floor, the rooms are in the 23~63 floor, the scenery outside the building is good, the hotel itself is triangular, so live three different rooms outside the landscape is also different side of the people's Square, One side is toward the Nanjing Road pedestrian street, the other side is facing the Pudong Waitan, has checked in two times, the remaining Waitan that side has not lived. The hotel itself has convenient transportation (there are MRT stations downstairs), then the peripheral attractions more (there is pedestrian street, People's Square, walking to Waitan also as long as 15 minutes), shopping is also convenient because the next to all department stores, nearby to eat a lot of shops can choose, is basically very convenient hotel, especially to visit. Hotel room facilities are slightly old, but the maintenance is not bad, the service staff attitude is very good, cleaning staff is also very polite, the price is reasonable, like convenient to choose to stay here.

Service is good in general and location is great. Hotel itself is comfy and clean but very old and supplies (like shampoo, conditioner, etc. ) are not as ideal.

We visited 3 chain hotels. I think they have a high cost and they should approve rate at all as we have had price variation from one hotel to another and for different nights different prices being the same room Std. Very luxurious and comfortable all but does not deserve to pay up to USD 250 per night… It is outrageous the price and not included the breakfast as they charge 100 USD CDO in front of the hotel is breakfast for 16 USD and spectacularly. One of the hotels was still with internal construction and was the costly because we claimed we did a great up but if we didn't we didn't obteniamos anything. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hygiene and very good accessories. Gcias.

Waaaaay overpriced in Shanghai. Club lounge is so so. Breakfast is good and the only high point. Checked in as platinum, got a regular small room and have to change elevators to get to the club lounge… wow! Can't really recommend this location. 7 years in China, 1st and last time for this hotel.

The room is very clean. Location is very good as there are many eateries and shops around the hotel.

Nice hotel with good service and beautiful views. The location is great, right across from a subway stop at the People's Square park. If you fly into Hongqiao (and if you're feeling brave), it is very easy to get here on subway line 2, and it's only 5RMB (less than 1 dollar). Skip the overpriced cab ride. The hotel is located on Nanjing Rd, so it's very close to the touristy shopping area and the Bund. The rooms were nicely appointed. The hotel buffet was really good, although a tad pricey. The food was actually kept hot, unlike most buffets I've encountered in this area of China. They give you actual arabica coffee in the rooms, with a French press. The service was good. They fixed my cable box for me, when it got frozen. They have a decent VOD system with movies for free. Only negative is that sometimes the massage girls get in the lobby and harass you for a massage. I wish the management would be more proactive in kicking them out. You have to transfer elevators at the lobby floor to get to the rooms. If I'm in downtown Shanghai again, I would definitely stay here.

Nice service, great breakfast, I would recommend not to go to the restaurants in house or order room service. Also the Gym is quite large and well equipped.

Amy's only good is to be near the city center, room small equipment is general, a kind of exaggerated, some disappointment, the restaurant is not a cup of coffee full of the American common taste to 44 yuan, a tiramisu to 88 yuan is very expensive, breakfast is quite good large chamber of the national dishes to send breakfast, to say Amy only breakfast delicious.

Yes, the location is by far the best! But — it's the staff that makes this place 7star!
Early checkin? No problem. Special meal / diet request? No issues. Wanted a pick up or drop off or some local advice? Sure thing!

I guess once it was 5 star but it's a tired 5 star, very tired. Although our first visit, could see the inside deco coming to pieces. Besides that, service was fine, although for a five star not knowing what a green card is portrays a 1 star out in the sticks never meet foreigners before kind of place, come on, your in Shanghai portraying as a 5 star! However, breakfast was ok, room was good (well except that half empty bottle of water left in the room as we arrived) and location is good. Would I recommend it? Yes, because you can get a junior suit for an ok price in a great location.

Nice hotel in the heart of Shanghai in a few tens of meters from the people's Square. Have stayed here many times. The service is always up to par. Works a lot of Europeans. From the high floors there is an incredible view of the center of Shanghai-the people's Square or the river Huangpu. On the club floors, the room rate includes breakfast, lunch and dinner at the restaurant. There is a free sauna and swimming pool. The only downside is the hotel is no longer new. The hotel is very well located and the rooms are very big.

Was in Shanghai 9-12 Nov 2015. After careful selection picked Le Royal Meridien. Hotel's front office is located on level 7. Received the keys to my room on the level 23. The 40 square metre room with view of Nanjing Road Pedestrian Mall. Nice view to witness all the various activities happening on the street. The room has little privacy. When the door opened, it was the bed. It did not look like 40 square metre, furnishing little old, little disappointed. Hotel is strategically located. Direct access to Nanjing Road Pedestrian Shopping Mall, 15 minutes walk to Peace Hotel and 17 minutes walk to The Bund. Eating, shopping, sightseeing is all within vicinity. It has good selection of hot breakfast. Paid RMB 1450 inclusive of breakfast.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Shanghai.

I was worried because things tend to be a bit different here in China. This place is amazing, though, and just as nice as a five star hotel in midtown Manhattan.

Good location at Nanjing road. Subway is just around the corner. Rooms are big enough. The view to the bund is great. Also check out the bar at the 65 floor. They had trouble with my Kredit card. I called the credit card company, and they said everything is fine with my card. So then they tried several times until it succeed.

Experience a acclaimed service this hotel is really good. Everywhere in public places customer service personnel, luggage refers to road, meticulous details of concern within the room, without any criticism.
Universal foreign customers most rooms also remind guests to prevent typical Scam Alerts. Various languages have there is no Chinese.
Select can see views of the Bund, while thinking of this building is so far from the Bund, Oriental Pearl what may be only a little bit, but still want to live can overlook the river. Night view with the lights, and wait for the Sun to illuminate all buildings but the day after that scene is more and more beautiful. Worth the price.
Chinese breakfast food selection is somewhat limited, but quality is still good.
Specially praised the omelet and coffee here again, it is quite hard.

The 789 nanjing lu Bar Lounge Club on the top floor has wonderful 360 views. Smoking permitted. They have ladies nights with free champagne and cocktails. When I was there, there were many foreigners as well. It has a dance area, bar, lounge sofas chairs and tables.

The location was fantastic. Check in was very pleasant. Everything about this hotel is of the high standard one has come to expect of a Le Meridien hotel. I was most impressed by the ingenious design of the closet area. The spread at the breakfast buffet was also quite impressive.

Beautiful view from the high floors of the Meriden, rooms are high standard, very nice, but a bit ageing. Overall very positive.
