Stunning hotel. Very beautiful and cozy, great breakfast. Pool, spa and health club are simply Perfect. But it is really hard to talk, most of the workers cannot speak a good english. Or speak it at all.

Always feel like coming home whenever stay with the hotel. The staff is always friendly with smiles on their faces and cares for every single details of the service. I particularly enjoyed service in Business Centre in the Vally Wing. I will be back soon.

Had a good experience during check in the staff was courteous which make me feel comfortable. Requested for a king size bed, but given single bed link together, wanted a smoking but was not ready needed to wait for one and a half hour so decided to have none smoking room since I was tired after travelling, while front desk told me they will change my room when the room is available. But nothing happened throughout my stay even though they saw me coming just to smoke frequently. First night room service was poor, food was serve warm and the plate was cold. Food standards was up and down. Only thing that was great was the housekeeping.

Nice hotel, good facilities, great rooms and amenities. The staff were super-friendly and most spoke excellent English. I would like to give Ms Dora Pan a special mention. She was super-polite, very friendly and helpful! Thanks Dora and the whole team. I will definitely stay at the hotel again on my next visit to Qingdao.

Very good facilities, excellent service, very customer friendly approach. Very nice gym and Spa, as well as the pool. Fantastic restaurants, specially The Flying Catch, Fabio Polidori is the best Chef and his team provides a wonderful dining experience, it is one of the best restaurants in Qingdao.

The best hotel atmosphare I have experient. There is just 1 point I don't like — and this is the system where the staff get rated. All staff give excellent service and are warm and gentle — but please don't ask customers to rate them. the name cards for staff should not be needed to hand to guests. I always remember good staff by faces or name on clothes.

The rooms were beautiful and most came with a decent view, the linens and soaps were soft and wonderful. I was slightly disappointed with the pool as the jets were not working in the hot tub and the lady who is working at the pool was not the kindest when telling us to wear shower caps to be in the pool. The caps also fall off and are completely pointless to wear and don't provide any additional hygiene to the pool. I made reservations for dinner, the gentleman who took the reservation made sure to decorate the table for my birthday which I thought was special and kind. The man who served the table was kind, efficient and allowed us to split the bills so we could all pay our own. The food was reasonably priced, good portions and a lovely space. It was my second time eating there and I was not disappointed. Upon checking out, the lady who helped me (Dora I believe her name was) noticed that it was my birthday and wished me a special day and gave me a beautiful gift of green tea. We were all treated very well and the Shangri-La did not disappoint! Had a wonderful stay and would book your hotel again in the future :)

Overall our experience with the hotel is great — facilities, staff, food, restaurants especially the music night at the lobby lounge and the good service and food at the Summer Palace Chinese restaurant. The only thing which unfortunately came as a very bad experience was the 3rd night during our stay when we got off from taxi at the main entrance of the hotel. We went back to hotel after dinner by taxi, and when we arrived there was no way the taxi could get close to the entrance, because of construction work. There was absolutely no sign for both cars or pedestrians how to get in. We were forced to get off the taxi in the middle of the road, and the construction trucks were huge and moving so quickly and almost hit on us. We jumped to the back of the taxi to avoid being hit, at the same time stopped the taxi from leaving. It was very dangerous because of the big trucks moving around, the traffic on the road with other cars, and the darkness of the entrance area. During our move we even inevitably stepped onto the area with wet wax (bitumen). Our shoes became sticky and dirty and later after we went back we realized there was no way to clean it and had to throw them away. At the end, we managed to get back onto the same taxi, forced the taxi driver to go around the hotel and finally stopped somewhere that we saw a pavement and we had to then walk back.

Being a keen and loyal Shangri-la supporter for two decades, I have been traveling extensively in the Region and I must congratulate the hotel team Shangri-La Qingdao for providing exceptionally high standard of services to their guests. Everything is done from attention to details allowing no room for negligence. The team is well trained and well motivated!

I stayed in the hotel twice during this visit. 1st time in the new wing and second time in the older wing. First was for three night and the second for one night. I saw a difference in treatment during both stays. Obviously when you pay more money, they treatment is better. The second stay was sub-par, and the room lacked basic supplies. For example, there was no bottled water. The bath room did not have moisturizing cream — — there were similar very subtle deficiencies. Perhaps there was no attention to details.

The staff at the Valley Wing never disappoint. Always impeccable service and always a smile on everyone's face help to make a difficult work trip such a pleasant experience Kenta is always so helpful in taking care of any arrangements we may need. Also Tina, Gina, and Rita are people that are always so helpful and so nice. Their warm smiles and such pleasant ways always make this such a nice place to come back to! Even the chef was such a pleasure preparing what he could for me when I wasn't feeling well. Loved coming back to the beautiful nightly treats in our room every night!

The shower fell off as I started the water, the hot water was either too hot or not hot enough, so I guess the maintenance is not up to par. The people are friendly and helpful. I understand this is china and english is not the commonly used language, but for staff not to even know items on their own In room dining menu was a bit disappointing. Trying to order breakfast was a struggle.

One of the best Hotel in Qungdao. I was staying in this hotel for 2weeks and services was the best in this city. For foreign people it will be better if they make some good places have food. Also location is in middle of city so it really is good to travel to other places. Recommend you to stay here.

I can only say… wow… one of the best hotel I have been. All is perfect and the quality has also a reasonable price. Very good.

Hotel was okay. Based on the room service menu, I would not stay again. Chinese based and lambsteak description, when it should be lambchop. Lamb was not lamb, but mutton, and terrible. I travel on my own and use room sergice a lot. A decent room service offer is important to me. one star, based on room service.

This hotel is in a good location, a few minutes away from the sea, the subway system and a large international shopping mall. The rooms are large and comfortable, with a variety of TV channels including CNN. Wifi is free. Breakfast here is astonishingly good — an amazing range of food, from hot to cold, Western to Chinese, some fresh cooked in front of you. Food in some of the other restaurants in the hotel has also been good, all accompanied by the local beer, of course. This is a luxury hotel brand, and feels like one. Impressive.

Wow what a hotel! I really wish I had more time to enjoy the experience, 1 night was not long enough. All the staff were excellent especially Henry Yang! The hotel was immaculate and definitely has the WOW factor! I would highly recommend that anyone visiting Qingdao should definitely stay at the Shangri-la or at least go to the restaurant because the food was to die for! Thank you to Henry and the Staff for making my first trip to China so memorable!

The best customer service I have ever had! Went out of their way to wish me a happy birthday (even though I never told them it was my birthday), they gave me a beautiful card, gift, flower and a delicious cake! ) Every staff member I cam across was so warm, welcoming and made us feel like old friends! We would come back in a heartbeat! Besides the amazing service the hotel itself is beautiful, everything is very clean, rooms are spacious and so luxurious and comfortable with great views! Cannot recommend it highly enough!

Hotel wants to be careful and attentive service, every employee is a service with a smile, it makes people feel at home. Valley wing of the luxury and comfort of rooms, breakfast varied and delicious. Rooms at Shangri-La Hotel Qingdao is a wonderful experience.

Nice place. Decent restaurants, good gym. Definitely get a room in the Valley Wing, which is new and doesn't smell like smoke. Water view is worth it.

Normal five star hotel. Prices are steep. Location not that good as quite far away from water and downtown. Walking distance is not really the right term here. Service was very friendly.
