The Executive Lounge Experience: The lounge is a standout feature, offering a quiet and exclusive atmosphere. It provides an excellent space for relaxation or work, accompanied by quality food and beverage presentations (especially the evening cocktails).
Exceptional & "Considerable" Service: The staff demonstrates true hospitality. They are proactive rather than reactive—anticipating needs before they are voiced. Whether it’s the front desk, lounge staff, or housekeeping, the service feels personal, warm, and attentive to detail.
Breathtaking Views: The location in the North Star Delta (Beichen) offers unblocked panoramic views. The sight of the Xiang River (Xiangjiang) meeting the Liuyang River, especially at sunset or with the city lights at night, is a highlight of the room. The floor-to-ceiling windows maximize this "sightview" perfectly.
BTW, the Guest Relations Manager hosted us and provided a warm welcome and guidance. That was excellent, and we really appreciate it.
The only point but not a problem is, the lounge is great—I loved the afternoon tea desserts! Service was top-notch too. The only thing that was a bit 'tricky' was the mini-bar fee. Usually, at other InterContinental hotels, it's free, so I didn't expect to be charged.

The reception was handled by a refined and professional lady who completed the check-in process with efficient and thorough service. The housekeeping staff left a heartfelt handwritten card to warmly welcome my arrival. The breakfast buffet, as always, offered a rich and diverse selection that delighted the senses. The executive lounge continued to impress with its captivating cityscape view, particularly during sunset when golden rays bathed the entire 27th floor. As night fell, the newly arrived live band elevated the bar's vibrant atmosphere to its nightly crescendo, creating an unforgettable evening experience.

I cannot say enough of good things about this hotel. Great location with great view, great food around the area, museum across the street, walking path along the river right outside the hotel. Fantastic views along the river on both sides in the evening.

It is my go-to hotel in Changsha.

I recently enjoyed a two-night stay at the Changsha Intercontinental Hotel with my family, including my 10-month-old baby, and I must say, it was a memorable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with exceptional hospitality. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, providing us with comprehensive baby accessories that made our stay much easier and more enjoyable.
The hotel’s environment is truly inviting, with elegant decor and a warm ambiance that creates a perfect atmosphere for families. We particularly appreciated the spacious common areas, which were not only beautifully designed but also accommodating for families with young children. The dining options were diverse and delicious, making family meals a delightful experience.
However, I did encounter a couple of challenges during our stay. While the hotel provided excellent amenities for our baby, I found the pricing for certain services to be on the higher side, which may be a consideration for families traveling on a budget. Additionally, the air conditioning in our room was not functioning optimally. Despite it being autumn, the room felt uncomfortably warm at times, which made it difficult for our baby to sleep peacefully.
The common areas, including the lobby and dining spaces, are tastefully decorated, creating a welcoming atmosphere that invites relaxation and enjoyment.

Well maintained hotel although 10 years old; beautiful view of Xiang River; spacious room everything works except air conditioning; room a bit hot too thick quilt affecting sleep quality. Hotel later on provided a portable air conditioning which helped a bit; breakfast is excellent, food very fresh, staff attentive. Special recognition to Silvia of breakfast service for her proactive service knowing what we need; special thanks to Chen Jun (陈军） of housekeeping — she not only cleans the room well but also leaves a sweet note card two days in a row making my husband and I warm feeling.

One of the best hotels I've been at. We were here for 6 nights. FANTASTIC dining options to accommodate all palettes, especially for breakfast. Local shopping mall right next door. Plenty of other walking areas nearby and watching the river. I had a great time here and would absolutely go back.
Our first room had an air conditioning issue so we had to move. The view wasn't as great, but still good. We got a little pushback going to the executive lounge even though we were diamond members, but our room keys didn't show that (I'm assuming due to switching). A bit unfriendly there, but they eventually let us stay. Language barrier is a bit hard for Americans and maybe that's why some pushback, however, almost everyone else was very friendly and nice.

A 3-nights stay in this amazing hotel, everything was phenomenal throughout the stay, from check-in to hotel room as well as other facilities, all in good condition, until bid farewell when departure. Further to breakfast and dinner, food and service were impressive. Kudos to the hotel team members, everyone who we encountered were very friendly, always carry smiling face and ready to offer help. Particular thank you to Symphony Restaurant Team, took good care of us for couple meals. Well done and congrats to hotel management team for nurturing such a great IHG property.
