We took a 'bigger then normal' room, almost at the top of the building, so space, noise and smells from the street were no issues. (Be aware! ) Check-in got complicated, as the front desk really spoke zero English. Surfaces were dirty, towels had started to fall apart. The room layout is simply stupid: lightswitches and outlets are were you'd never need them. (There isn't even one light you can turn off without getting out of the bed. ) The light in the bathroom is way to dim for a shave.

You pay what you get, good place to stay for a short amount of time however if your going for a holiday (going to the pool, ect) you shoukd go elsewhere. But its a great stay for a business trip. And its cheep/low cost to stay per night.

Hotel room is quite spacious and big all things considered for Hong Hong. Also has a big bed. Getting up to the room was easy, and the location isn’t bad, despite it being in a fish market. However, I had to wait 20 minutes for the hot water to get going, and even then the water pressure was extremely anemic. For a hotel, in my opinion, the shower is really important. For that reason, I was really disappointed with my stay. I can’t remember the last time I’ve rated any hotels under 3 stars, this might be the first.

The rooms are cozy and small but they're large enough for two people to sleep comfortably. You can choose a room with a double bed or a full size. Make sure you select the right bed setup, if they are sold out then you will have no choice. I made the wrong bed selection, but luckily the staff were pretty accommodating and pushed both beds together which was nice. Make sure to ask to have a room on one of the top floors so as not to here street level noise in the mornings, staff made us aware of this and we were able to get one of the top floors in the building without having to ask for it. The floor we were on only had 3 other rooms so loud noise on the floor was not an issue either. The hotels' location is on a quieter street and away from the main thoroughfare and yet still close to two main subway stations about 1000 meters in either direction or about a 20 minute walk if you're adventurous. All in all I was pretty satisfied with the level of service and the helpful staff, but be aware that the rooms are small, less than 150-200 square feet. At least for the rooms near the top, not sure if the bottom floors are any bigger, but I would definitely ask before booking.

The hotel was clean and easy to arrive to. Only downside was that it was located on a street where there was a wet market, smelled of fish/meat outside. Also the hotel doesn't have outlets designed for our particular phone charger, so make sure you pack a universal charger. It also says in their description that they had satellite tv, there was only 4 channels on the TV (2 of them were the local news) so that was a bummer. Hot water was non existent, so showering was a bit painful. Other than that, the staff was friendly and their cleaning crew were professional.

Nice hotel, but poor location. The fish market out front definitely takes away from your stay.

Good to crash for a couple of nights if you want to stay in HK island. A noisy wet market outside the hotel, it shouldn’t really bother you. The hotel is for fuss free travellers. I’ll recommend this place for people looking to stay in HK island but want to stay away from busy areas like Mongkok etc. Tip — Nike outlets just around the corner to buy shoes. You don’t have to travel to the outlet Malls!

No heating. Small room. Hard bed. Nice location. Good bathroom. Good service.

NOT RECOMMENDED! Water heater is an known issue already. During my stay, the hot water can only last about 5 minute of use. In addition, there is NO HEATER available. So avoid during winter time. The room was frezzing when outside temperature was around 10 degreee.

Nice place to stay in Northpoint Hong Kong but more of a hotel for the Chinese guests. Facilities are nice and comfortable but location is off a side road the doubles as a market. The view from the top floor (27th) was just other buildings with the harbor in the distance.

Great location, close to north point mtr station, bus or tram easily available. Nice and clean rooms.

Room is small. No room heater. That's my only complain about it. Great service overall. If you want to be near the tourist spots definitely don't book here.

M1 Hotel is a very standard sort of hotel to stay at as a tourist. The rooms aren't massive but you have enough space to sleep, shower and change. There was an air con unit in each room along with safe and mini fridge. Not one for meetings or other business things. Outside is a fresh food market which is bustling most hours of the day, their isn't much of a view to be had, maybe from the higher floors but there's a lot of talk buildings around. Wi-Fi was pretty solid and reliable with only a few slow downs. Beds were a touch small for me (1.8m tall) but generally okay otherwise. Hotel staff were friendly and easy to deal with and I was able to store my luggage with them for a few hours after check out (12pm)

The hot water problem does exist.
Live 5 Floor no market noisy noise. If you have affordable accommodation needs can still be considered.

It is important to note that this hotel is actually right in the heart of the wet/fish Street market, on Chun Yeung Street. From the 21st floor I could not smell the market, but depending on the time of day you may have to battle your way through the hoards of people, and wet smelly ground. The room was spacious and clean. The first night, the toilet wouldn't stop flushing continuously. The lift was surprisingly small for a hotel of its size. I wouldn't want to stay there if it was fully booked!

Budget choice, just locating a traditional food market, fresh and cheap fruits.

Good location on HK, but unfortunately it's located in a traditional street market, so the environment is not nice and lobby always smells like raw fish.

Wet market surrounded you can see rats and cockroach everywhere.

Room was TINY and WAY overpriced! Relatively convenient location. No dining options and no extras. Good for a place to sleep.

Decent, clean and overall a very nice hotel. Great space for the price.

Very, very rude desk service. We were told we needed to wait while they checked the room before we left, which was fine, but then never told us when we were free to go.

The room was very spacious for Hong Kong, very modern and very clean. The only thing that would put some people off is the road, it's a fresh produce market street with lots of fresh smells I find it very authentic and Asian/Chinese, it doesn't bother me but I know lots of people it would. That aside it's an excellent hotel in Avery good location 5mins from The metro and the trams actually pass by all the time.

If you are not traveling alone, I strongly advise you do not go with their Deluxe tier, which is their lowest tier room. There is quite literally only two steps worth of room between the room door and the foot of your bed, and half a step between the beds. Opening a luggage case would pretty much make it impossible to move without issues. As soon as we saw the size, we immediately went back down and asked to upgrade to the next tier, which was the Superior tier. It was 220 HKD more per night, but we gained a lot more room as seen in my image. There was actually enough space to leave a couple luggage cases open and still freely wander the room, which to me is a big deal. I'd hate to have to open and close my luggage every single time. So that's that on the room size. The rooms are fine for the price, in my opinion. The beds are firm, and the pillows are a bit firm as well. The bathroom is a bit small, but not too much of a problem. The bathroom is separated from the rest of the room through glazed glass, so there's enough privacy, although you can definitely see more of a form, so if you're the embarrassed type or you are traveling with someone you would mind seeing your obscured form through glazed glass, you might be a bit bothered by it. There is no ready hot water in the shower.

Good sized rooms, clean showers, room cleaned everyday. Quiet enough if you are on top floors. Slight mould smell though in my room. Free coffee and lemon water 9 til 9.

The location is quite ok. Not too far to MTR north point station. What I don't like is the staff not friendly and the market right at front of the hotel makes lots of noise. The room is too tiny for me. But for budget hotel I can recommend it to my friends as their budget accommodation in Hongkong. ::

After the manager Mr. Tsang listen to our complain, he offered us for a free upgrade to a bigger size of room, also facing away of the market to avoid the smell with very professional behaviour. He also sends his staff up to help moving the luggage to he new room. Me and my wife are very happy. One thing that not very happy but we understand beyond what they can do, is the light of room all and hallway are very dark. Aside of that, everything is good. One thing that forgot to mention is the manger also offered us if we consider to stay here on our future vacation he'll offer us a free upgrade too.

Location and price are fair, but maybe a bit noisy if your units are facing the market.

Would definitely stay here again. Great location!

Crazy ass Chinese slamming the door every 15 minutes at every night I was staying it's the worse experience I ever had.

Very good and big for the Hong Kong standards rooms.

Hotel reservation for my wedding.

Booked this hotel with the option of having an additional bed for HKD 200. Suddenly, the hotel didn't know about it anymore and wanted me to upgrade for a huge amount of money to have the additional bed. Mails went back and forth for a long time. In the end they just booked around $500 from my credit card. Now fighting to get it back. Have this Hotel booked, with the Option for little money a extra bed in the room. At once knew the Hotel nothing more of it and just wanted per Upgrade for a lot of money the extra bed for grant. Eternal Correspondence. In retrospect, it is easy to have 500 € from my credit card. Now eternal contest to get the money back!

Spent a total of 15 days at North Point M1. It was right in the mid of a local market so the odor is definitely an issue when stepping out of the hotel. The room is clean but the light is way too dim to even read my daily news paper. Hot water can take a minimum of 15 minutes to heat and is only enough to take a quick shower. Next person needs to wait another 15 minutes. Two elevators are in the hotel but one was out of service the entire time when I was there. So leaving only one elevator for hotel customers and also workers cleaning the rooms. Once I've waited over ten minutes for the elevator. Washroom and shower is enclosed with glass panels, so privacy and light (when one is sleeping) can be an issue. I was on the 18th floor but I got awaken by market/car horns noise every morning with windows closed.

Everybody including staff was very nice and very helpful every time I needed something they were always happy to help I recommend this place to stay when you're in Hong Kong by the time I got to Hong Kong I made reservations but because my bank would not authorize it because it was overseas and it was the day before I got there they canceled so they still allowed me to have my room and upgraded me to a better room for the same price with no hassle this is why I'm giving this a five star.
