Two MacDonnell Road

My first time in HK and I heard service apartments here have same hospitality than hotels & I wanted a kitchen & table to do work. This one has it all: views, friendly staff, complimentary conveniences and attentiveness.
Not familiar with the neighborhoods in HK I opted to check out Two Macdonnell for just one night after reading it was in a quieter neighborhood after a noisy first night in Shenwen area. Moving to Two Macdonnell was indeed quieter and bc it’s nestled on a hill, you get amazing cities and forest views! So very satisfied I extended my stay for the rest of the week here.
This service apartment is very good especially for being able to accommodate short stays and housekeeping and the entire staff in each department is very friendly! The ground level is where the bellman/luggage & incoming delivery staff is. (I thought I had to go to the lobby to pickup my food delivery but the staff brought it straight up to the room — unlike at a hotel! ). 8th floor is the breakfast and check in-reception.
The hotel offers free shuttle to the Central Market and IFC Mall — which will save you $8 one way taxi/uber.
The rooms are pretty modern and everyday they offer to replenish towels or make bed etc. And you cannot beat this amazing view on the hill!
As Booking. Com Genius Level 3, breakfast is included and the breakfast staff is very nice. I also got some savings when routed my booking via TripAdvisor.
Restaurant also offers happy hour: 2 for 1 drinks (which I obliged!

Even with a full house and a typhoon outside, the service at this hotel was absolutely exceptional. Paul and Wylie at the front desk went above and beyond to make sure every guest was comfortable and cared for. Their warmth, professionalism and genuine hospitality were unbelievable, they truly turned a challenging situation into a memorable experience. Can’t recommend this place enough.

My two-month stay at 2 Macdonnell Road Service Apartment was an exceptionally comfortable and convenient experience. The location is superb, offering easy access to the city while remaining peaceful. The true highlights for a long-term guest like myself were the impeccable services. The laundry service was consistently prompt and the clothes were always returned in perfect condition, which was a huge weight off my mind. Furthermore, the room service was both reliable and efficient, ensuring my living space was always pristine and welcoming. The combination of a well-appointed apartment, fantastic amenities, and these thoughtful services made my extended stay feel effortless and truly enjoyable. I would not hesitate to return or recommend it to anyone needing a home away from home.

Everything was perfect, from start to finish, for my 12 night stay! The team were friendly and very helpful. Great access to all parts of the city, with bus routes and taxis right outside the hotel, plus a shuttle service provided by the hotel. Easy walk to Central, Soho, and HK Park. The Garden View room was clean, spacious, had basic necessities to cook, and offered a wonderful view over the Botanical Gardens. There’s a small gym that provides all the basics, plus yoga mats.
The immaculate laundry facility provides free detergent and dryer sheets (you can also have your clothes laundered and dry cleaned by the hotel). Grocery store right next door and an excellent restaurant in the Hotel itself.
I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again!

A pleasant and great experience during stat in Two Mac! It is a very nice and comfort place with Excellent view, neat environment and luxury hotel space comparing with other rooms in HK hotels. Also received warm welcome from hotel workers. Recommend you to choose this as your hotel in HK.

Lovely hotel. Have stayed there for a couple of times and never disappoints. Lovely staff and great views near the place. Well done! The bedroom was comfy and awesome to get some rest and the desk is very good to be able to work from “home”. Woyun (? ) was really nice and he greeted me everyday and made sure I had everything I needed. Really happy with this experience. Thank you!

2 MacDonnell Road surpassed my expectations from my last stay many years ago. From Concierge, Tommie to Front Desk, Sunny who speaks good English, the staff are very attentive & sincere. The ambience is bright & is spacious. The breakfast has various ala carte choices plus a basic buffet. There's a 2 floors Fusion Supermarket 1 Min away; n restaurants in that same building. The no. 12A Citybus which takes you within 10-15 minutes to Central is only a 2 mins walk very nearby with frequent buses. The rooms which face the City skyline have an amazing view of CBD; so does the restaurant. Rooms & corridors are clean, very bright & airy with adequate lighting n a small kitchenette. Note the bigger rooms are shower in a bathtub only so if you need a standing shower only, do specify this in your booking n ask for the studio sized rooms. The bed is comfortable; the pillows are outstanding soft & 5 stars type & so is the duvet. The kitchenette is adequate with a job, microwave, fridge, sink, kettle, utensils, and a toaster is even available on request. There's a Laundrette room on the Reception floor which is on the 8th floor. If you are looking for a longer comfy stay, like a home away from home near Central or mid levels, this will be a great choice. The rooms are bigger than the usual hotel room n come in various sizes too including a 2 bedroom option.

I just checked out of 2 McDonnell Road with my wife, booked for 4 days. The location is brilliant. The rooms are quite are good.
We booked and paid for this hotel over 5 months ago and requested for a high floor, at check in our request was not granted. This hotel goes up to higher than 27 floors, and we were given a room on the 12 floor. Which essentially one of the lowest floors, reception is on the 8th floor, laundry on the 10th.
We noticed that other walk-in guest (white and Chinese) were checked into higher floors.
We were given an upgrade which is standard for first time guests.
I am convinced that the some of the staff especially in the restaurant are extremely biased against black people, trying not to say racist. At breakfast the waiter attending to us was extremely impatient and raised his voice when attending to us.
I made a complaint on the 3rd day at reception. The manager Wylie, tried to make amends by giving us late checkout and special breakfast for the last day. We very very skeptical about eating it, as we have complained, so we did not go and opted to eat outside the hotel on the last day.
The concierge on the ground floor are all very very nice and helpful.
The manager Wylie was very apologetic and personally saw us off on check out and waited downstairs till we got a taxi.

The property is ideal for those who seek a slightly longer stay in Hong Kong. Centrally-located, the executive apartment boasts outstanding views. Shout out to Reception’s Paul who provided an upgrade and the gracious concierge and valet team downstairs. We stayed at the property in 2001 and 2008, and most recently in late 2024. The recent renovation of the rooms is quite impressive.

This was my second stay here and both times were excellent. The location is great — quiet and some of the rooms have amazing views. It's either a quick taxi or bus down to Central but also great to have a quiet wander around the zoo across the road. The staff really are amazing. Each time the reception and cafe staff couldn't be more helpful. This time it was Joanne at the front desk who was so friendly and made our stay easy. Would happily always stay here in Hong Kong.

The staffs are nice, and the room is big enough for my family. Good experience!
The food from the morning tea time is great too. The location is convenient if you love going to the city center. I am pretty sure we will book this hotel again when we travel to Hong Kong next time.

Two McDonnell Road is fantastic hotel, in Central area but very quiet. It is next to a beautiful park which is also a bio-zoo with free entrance. It is close to the Peak tram stations and has a great view over the city skylines. The restaurant on site was very good and staff were attentive to every details. The concierge was really helpful and went out of the way to help with everything. A great place to stay in Hong Kong.

From the moment I stepped foot into the hotel, I was blown away by the exceptional service. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect.
The concierge was particularly impressive. They were knowledgeable about the local area and helped me plan my itinerary with ease. When I had a question or needed assistance, they were always just a phone call away.
The housekeeping staff was also top-notch. My room was always spotless, and they even remembered my preference for soft pillows.
Overall, I had an amazing experience at the Hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a hotel with exceptional service.

The hotel room was clean, nice and spacious. Breakfast offered with a wide variety of food. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. The location is just perfect for a walk around Central District in Hong Kong Island. Definitely I will come back to the hotel for my next business trip.

I am writing this review as I am continuing my 1.5 year stay here. (yes, 18 months already! ) The place is a superb choice because it is conveniently located near the central business area and the heart of the city. The hotel and the surrounding location are both quiet at night (very important because I need a quiet place to sleep), and there is ample space and a large park right next door, where I can walk around and get some fresh cool air.
More importantly, the place is managed by a first-rated management team. The room is updated, clean, and I can make a decent dinner here if I like, with the kitchen inside the room.
I am a Marriott life-time titanium member (Yes, I travel too much), and we, as a company, are recognized by the HK government as an investor growing the local health care business. We have plenty of accommodation choices, and we choose to stay at Two MacDonnell, because of the facility, the location, and the great people here.
I highly recommend this place. And am looking forward to continue my stay while we are building up our commercial presence in Hong Kong.

A restful stay in a quiet neighbourhood with scenic views, a short walk away to the pleasant surrounds of the Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens. My family of 10, including two elderly parents and disabled son, thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Contrary to our initial concerns, it was convenient to access Central via the shuttle bus or an easy walk downhill (very near to the Peak Tram). For the elderly and disabled, there is an abundant supply of taxis to and fro. The best part was packing in a day of vibrant activity in the city, and retreating to the quiet comforts of our home away from home at the end of the day. Highly recommended.

Services very good, staffs are so nice, room is clean and tidy, if I have time, will come again.
