I checked in to DoubleTree by Hilton Baoding Zhongbo at 9:00 PM on the 18th. The experience was very disappointing. It’s supposed to be one of the best hotels in Baoding, but after changing rooms, I still couldn’t sleep until late at night. Very disappointing for a Hilton hotel.
When I checked in, the front desk gave me the room key without charging me. Only after I got to the room did they come later to collect the payment. During payment, they did not accept my international Visa card and told me they would need to pre-authorize 1, 000 RMB first and then charge the card the next day.
After checking in, the heating was extremely high, and the room temperature felt at least 27°C. Even after turning off the heating and opening the window, the temperature did not drop for a long time. I changed rooms, but the temperature was still very high. I had to keep both the door and the window open, and the temperature only slowly went down around midnight.
Most importantly, despite the room being so hot, there was no air conditioning available.
