Stayed at many "interesting" hotels in Hainan, so I thought I'd take a break by staying at Holiday Inn expecting just normal American hotel experience. Boy was I wrong — it was more or less the same crap. Poor customer service. Same kind of food as other hotels at over-the-top prices. 15% service fee on everything you buy (nice surprise when you get to the counter). You might think that's like paying a tip, but in the US tips go to the bartender, waiter, barista, etc. Over there, this "tip" is simply added to your bill while your server is some poor guy brought in from the countryside working for poverty level wages. I've asked several, and they all said that the 15% goes to the hotel.

All were very pleased. Room appartment with sea view, because the mountain takes a view on the construction site, but by the time you go can be the construction is already finished, the Chinese quickly build. With sunbeds near the pool there are no problems, but on the beach our compatriots create excitement. Назанимают places, but no, it happened several times that we were coming, and the people who took sunbeds for the time while we were there. From our guides have only pleasant impressions, very attentive and helpful. On arrival handed island map and map of the city that, for us it was very useful.
