December in Beijing is quite cold. We booked a family room in Beijing Siheju courtyard Hotel. Got a very small family room with main bed in a loft area. No cupboard or not even enough room to put your luggage on the floor. Bedding dirty. Heater down stairs and not sufficient to heat the room. "Instructed by host to not touch the heater". Bathroom dirty and loads of mould. Shower curtain has not been cleaned in years. No windows but only a "skylight" above the main bed. Our booking included breakfast and we were told not available before 08h30 but as we had excursion booked for 07h00, we had to go without. Reception very dirty and dusty and host speaks no English. Receptionist sleeps on a bed in reception area. Disappointing location and the Hutong is dark and lots of rubbish all over. Taxi driver had a struggle to find the hotel. Photos on internet are very misleading and not even close to reality. We were looking forward to the cultural experience but this is not about old but the worst is that it is just dirty basics. Not welcoming accommodation at all.

Had a very bad experience over there. First the host gave me a room that's not what I ordered, second she forgot to return my passport after copying.

Absolutely horrible, we booked two rooms in this establishment with friends relying on comments, fatal error!
We are presented only the first room which was not terrible (shower a little limit and sofa as a bed) explaining to us that the second is not available at the moment. We photocopy our passports (unable to cancel reservation from this moment under penalty of prosecution and return to the country) the second bedroom is actually a dorm with poorly finished insulation, a board as a curtain for the beds of all Rooms are planks! In short we still settle in this room, the beds are not made, we are given enough to do them ourselves, very classy what… And the best: the router are in this room suddenly every time the network jumps, the staff returns without notice and I throw on the router no matter whether one is changing or sleeping (and they do not leave until it is repaired …). And I will not eternise on the toilet/shower/washing machine common without privacy and without hygiene… In short this property is to be banned completely.
