Lousy customer service and no responsibility for the facts. My brother marriage gift gave me a gift card for 2 nights, which was already paid. When I called to book they tell me that they changed their owner and that you can't make a charge… does Not give me any solution or gave me the silver.

Our stay was perfect! We were scared of some reviews on tripadvisor by "smells" and "lack of cleanliness". At least don't experience any problems in that regard. In my opinion it was all nice, room, bar, very blunt breakfast. We don't use it mostly but maybe as you suggest they could invest in renewing TV and putting curtains for full sun days in breakfast room.

Excellent service and good views. It is in the middle of the cheerful hill, close to all kinds of cafes, restaurants and shops. The terrace with which they have has a bar with very good signature cocktails. I recommend the crude, one of the best I've ever tasted. It has only 3 parking lots so I recommend calling and confirming before arriving by car.

Well located hotel. Something expensive and it's sloping. It is part of The Cultural Historical Heritage of Valpo.

It has the charm of the old houses well preserved. Bright with nice view to the bay. Many internal stairs. Wifi did not work in room. Complicated access to the hotel if you go by car. Nice attention. Varied and abundant breakfast.

Without hesitation the architectural of the place is lovely. It has very good view (a sunset and sunrise but the smell of fat, not if it is problem of the hotel or the neighboring restaurants. The heating never worked for me.

Old Hotel, just at the end of the promenade of the same name, nice view of the harbour. Well located, from there you go through Cerro Concepción and Cerro Alegre. Very good place. Ha I forgot, is next to Lukas House, great draughtsman and illustrator of the daily El Mercurio.

To begin, hotel has a friendly, helpful staff, good bar and restaurants. Also, it has a faded charm that's in a funky neighborhood full of good food. For seniors, it's dysfunctional due to the very steep stairs, almost ladderlike, lack of hot water, and steep sided bathtub/shower. Some things are in disrepair. One would need to weigh antique charm vs some lack of comfort.

Historic hotel with a somewhat ruined charm in keeping with Valpo and a cool terrace perfect for a drink that anyone can visit with a view up and down Cierro Alegre and of the picturesque and quaint pedestrian streets below. Good time to visit would be at sunset.

Old world charm. Converted from a 19th century home into a hotel. The Gervasoni, like most buildings in Valparaiso is set over 5 or 6 levels descending down the hill. The rooms are old fashioned but adequate. Make sure you get a room at the front overlooking the bay. There is a nice terrace bar which doubles as the breakfast room. Staff were very helpful. Some good restaurants close by.

Nice, historic hotel. Excellent location. Our group had some issues with hot water, probably due to the fact that the building is quite old.

Very authentic hotel — no elevator & not a lot of ice but truly an immersion in the Chilean culture. We had a fab time & staff are great! They speak English & very helpful on places to eat & see.

Deficient in all areas possible evaluate to a hotel:
1) clean / dirty, without more ornaments
(2) comfort/bathrooms small/current/towels soiled clothing.
(3) maintenance/broken curtains, burnt light bulbs.
The only thing that saves is the girl in the reception, that resolves within its possibilities.
He would not return.

The dasayunador could be bigger, but it makes up for it with good attention and willingness of the staff.
We would return to this Hotel!

Charming hotel in a great location (many people come to visit the viewpoint right outside the hotel). The breakfast is nice. Rooms vary in size and views.

We celebrated our marriage anniversary reserving a room in this place. Then, I left the hotel, my wife stayed. I especially asked if they could bill me in my credit card (it was my anniversary gift), but when my wife left, they asked her to pay. Besides, the manager of the place, Paulo Briceño, SHAMELESSLY LIED, saying that I told them that she would pay (I never did). Later, I called the place to complain and they said that someone said that my wife called me and I had told her to pay (that never happened, I had my cell phone off, since I was in a meeting). They wouldn't refund my wife, unless I made another online payment (something was wrong with charging my credit card). My romantic gesture was ruined. Besides, at the online reservations it explicitly said "cero taxes" and they charged me 19% anyway, since I'm chilean. I felt ripped off. And that is how an awful service completely ruines a really beautiful place. I feel the obligation to share this ugly expirience to help it doesn't happen to anyone else.

Beautiful 1870 mansion located on the promenade that bears the name of the hotel. The rooms are adapted from the original Palace. They are spacious and comfortable. The service is excellent. You feel living in valparaiso in late 1800 and early 1900s. The restaurant is excellent with a good menu and bar. Attention is first class.
