Clean, quiet, close to all amenities, good water pressure, comfortable beds, reasonable price. Good value for your money.

This was a clean, cozy little space for the very affordable price.
Right near Main Street Watrous (5-10 min walk) where there are great lil cafes, thrift store, family restaurants etc and a short 10 min drive to Manitou village and the beach/spa.
Sean was super helpful and the owner was quick to respond to questions and requests.
Cute little place, friendly people (everyone waves hello) and our dogs were welcome too!

Old Rundown…. My bathroom window has towels around it to keep it somewhat shut…. One must ask to have bedding changed.

Not a very nice stay TV was broken no one fixed it. Manager and owner keep making promises none were kept. Wifi keeps cutting out they say cable TV my TV didn’t even work so this place is run by either very stupid people or they just don’t care about people staying here I will never stay here again.

Room was clean, bathroom remodeled, warm, free Wi-Fi.

Train across the road but slept well, I have stayed here a few times now stopping in at the spa for a float overnight while driving across Canada.
Decent hot water and good shower pressure. Small fridge, microwave and tv.

The heat doesn’t work in the rooms. They put a small space heater in there. It’s November! Completely unliveable. The place should be shut down.

Bedding only changed once a week. Room probablycleanedeven less… noise from trains across street all night. Flys on walls. Stairs outside are in bad shape. Lots of noise in room. Was forced to stay a week because they are one of the few that are dog friendly.

I booked (and paid in advance) for a 4 night stay at the Sundown Motel because my first choice (the Super 8) was fully booked. There are only 2 options in Watrous and the area is a popular tourist destination. When I arrived at 5:00 PM there were no cars in the parking lot. The office was open but the phone instructions were useless (no one answered) and the other phone number taped on the office window was no help either. I finally decided to go to the Super 8, hoping that maybe someone had cancelled. Luckily for me the 2 facilities are linked in some way and the extremely helpful Super 8 manager was able to make me a key for my room at the Sundown Motel. He also accompanied me there to make sure the key worked, which it did. Shortly thereafter a family with 3 kids arrived, who also thought that their reservation would be honoured. Somehow they managed to find someone who could help them. Issues that arose over the following 4 days included no coffee (I had to buy a jar of instant coffee) and when the coffee did appear, one morning there were no cups. The bed was never made, except by me and the towels were never changed. The desk "chair" was not adjustable and I had to pile two pillows on it to work on my computer.

Clean room nice bed, pillows leave a lot to be desired as in there flat flat. Don’t plan on watching tv, 1000 channel TV with maybe 12 channels that will actually play an those channels are well for blind people or blind an deaf. Other than that not a bad place to stay.

Friendly staff. Our room was very, very clean. Great beds. We enjoyed our overnight stay. Even the sound of the trains running by was a nice nostalgic sound and by no means kept us awake. They also allow pets. We would definitely stay there again if we are in the area.

I would highly. Recommend this motel if you need a place to stay in Watrous. The level of customer service provided by Nona was top notch; she definitely exceeded my expectations and if I'm ever in the area in the future there is no question that I will book a room here. She clearly knows how to balance her many responsibilities while maintaining the highest quality of service. Thank you for this — it did not go unnoticed :)

I was a little hesitant about this motel given that they allow animals, however I feel like this is the cleanest place I've ever stayed in. Well light and right off the main road. The rooms aren't the most sound proof but when I stayed on a Wednesday it was pretty quiet by 10. There is of course a train that runs close to the main road, but I don't think you're getting away from that no matter where you stay. There was also no breakfast, which isn't a huge deal for me. The lady at the front desk was super sweet and friendly.
