Super-gite! Warm welcome, friendly owners. Splendid house with character, superb grounds with chairs, picnic table, benches, bbq and round outdoor fire. Comfortable, clean and well-eared room, all affordable with lunch included. Yes, yes, many pillows and bathrobes at your disposal in the room. Excellent breakfast with local produce. There is even a secure garage for bicycles.

La Maison du Matelot is a great quiet place to stay along the petit discharge of the Saguenay river. The rooms and beds are great and the common area is very well set up for guests to relax, watch TV and there is a large kitchen Island for doing other work. Two small refrigerators are setup for guests use. It's only a 20-30 minute pretty walk along the river to the many restaurants and cafes in downtown Alma.

We had a very nice stay at La Maison du Matelot. The B&B is located right on the river so there’s a lovely view from the large common area/living room and deck. It’s a few minutes walk from town, but that meant that it was peaceful and quiet at night. Our room was small but very clean, cheerful and nicely decorated. And the common room was very large and pleasant. There are 2 refrigerators available for guest food.

Great field, well grassed, tree mature, they have a great beach and a family pool, very hospitable people. At the restaurant, The tables are dirty, trash cans are full. A table repair which has dragged on in the middle of the patio, Phew… the owner of the restaurant, not too proud of…!
