Courtyard by Marriott Montreal Laval

I recently returned from a weekend getaway to Montreal with my family, and this hotel proved to be an excellent choice in every way. The staff was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. The location is surrounded by great amenities, and reaching Montreal’s main sightseeing spots was easy, even with the city’s heavy traffic.

Modern, clean, and comfortable hotel, perfect for a short stay. My only complaint is the bed setup. The sheets weren’t properly fitted, and the duvet and mattress protector were always exposed, the same issue each time the bed was made. I understand and also dislike that many hotels here use two flat sheets instead of a proper duvet cover, but in this case, it wasn’t even done properly. Having to feel the duvet and mattress protector beneath the sheets is icky and just not comfortable. Also, I assume the removal of kettles from rooms is a cost-saving measure for all hotels. It’s nice to have a cup of tea in your room instead of having to go to reception for one.

Across the street from the concert venue Place Bell, great view, temperature was easy to control which is a hit and miss usually for us. Great location for the trains too! We'll be back.

I had a very disappointing experience at this Marriott breakfast restaurant. I arrived well within the breakfast hours, yet the staff bluntly told me “the kitchen is closed now” and tried to push me away. It was clear they just wanted to wrap up early rather than provide proper service.
There was no warmth or welcoming attitude at all. Instead of hospitality, I was met with dismissive behavior that felt rushed and unprofessional. What made it even worse was that I was there with my two young daughters, and the staff showed no empathy or understanding — not even towards children.
For a hotel that carries the reputation and legacy of Marriott, this was an extremely disappointing experience. The lack of care, courtesy, and professionalism fell far below the standard one would expect from such a reputed brand.

We recently stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott in Laval, and overall, our experience was great. The hotel is very well-located, with the subway station right across the street, which made it incredibly easy to get into Montreal. We were able to go to the downtown historic district with just one subway ride, which was a huge convenience. The gym was also excellent and a big plus for our stay.
However, after spending time in Chelsea where we experienced a consistently friendly and warm vibe from everyone, the hotel staff unfortunately didn't quite match that.
A minor but frustrating detail was the in-room coffee. The quality was not good, and the quantity—just one regular and one decaf—was not enough for the two of us. It's a shame to have to go down to the Starbucks in the lobby and pay for coffee when a better option in the room would be so easy.
Despite those issues, we rated our stay a 4 out of 5. The great location, convenience, and excellent amenities made it a very good choice for our trip.

Lying is a sin.
The bed frame is wide so high chance of smacking your leg into it.
My bathtub wasn’t able to hold it water because the plug was broken. I go to the lobby and they said they had no other rooms. He said “there’s a room with a stand up shower”. I obviously only cared about the tub. Then something magical happened. There was a room available… so he lied.
I was told there was a room available when I arrived but they didn’t let me check in because I refused to sign up.
I get an email apology about saving the rooms for members that’s why they let me sit in lobby for 2 hours. But it’s a lie because she told me she’d save ME the room in case I changed my mind. And I heard her talk to a lady next to me saying she can’t let me in unless I have an account. So don’t apologize miss, managements fault for bad system. It was a weekday by the way.
Anyway I just felt like I encountered a lot of sinful people.
If you book here don’t get hung up on the staff and have a good trip!
P. S. The staff that clean rooms and come to try and fix the tub were very nice.

Love the courtyard attached to the hotel. Food, restaurants and an outdoor space literally steps away from the hotel. Loved that. Check in/out takes a while but rooms are lovely. Only thing is some of the pillows I got smelled like feet… was really gross.

I cancelled a month before my booking on June 21st and they put a full charge through on my card. The agent when I called was helpful and fixed the issue in 15 minutes (still awaiting the credit on my end though, but it’s ridiculous that I have to be this diligent on my own credit card. Interestingly enough this happened to me with this same Marriott hotel location that I booked as part of the same road-trip where they charged a full 3 night stay that was cancelled. Same deal there where fixing it was fairly straight forward byt my goodness that’s $1300 in false charges. Not sure if they’re doing it on purpose but it sure makes you wonder… high degree of incompetence at minimum….

Thank you for the hospitality. I was on the road for a very long time yesterday, so coming “home” to well-placed, prepared, and staffed Marriott, makes traveling easier and some cases… much more tolerable. Thanks and take care.

This is a very good location to spend either business or pleasure even with family. The hotel is surrounded by many restaurants to choose from whetever your desire to eat. The parking in under ground and very secure. There's a restaurant on the 2nd floor where food is 9 out of 10. If you like sports, they have a professional hockey team, and the arena is right across the hotel. The amenities are close to the hotel as well, shops, metro, and bus station. I recommend you explore this hotel in Laval, QC.

We had a fantastic stay at the Courtyard Marriott Montreal Laval in Espace Montmorency! From start to finish, everything was smooth and enjoyable. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome right away.
Parking was easy and convenient, and the hotel itself is modern, clean, and beautifully designed. Our room was spacious and spotless, with all the modern comforts we needed. We also loved having excellent restaurants and a great fitness center right on-site — everything was just steps away.
The location is unbeatable. Right next to the Montmorency Metro station and Place Bell — our room was literally right across the street from the arena, which made attending our event so easy and stress-free.
Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area. We’ll definitely be back!

The good:
Location is good. The hotel is located in one of four buildings making a quadrangle around a common courtyard and playground. The buildings seem to have a good variety of restaurants at ground level as well as other restaurants and malls nearby in addition to Place Bell and the pubic transit subway across the street making the location good if you need to be in the area.
Hotel is new and clean and offers amenities such as a gym and rooftop bar on the 10th top floor.
Front desk is truly pleasant and tries to accommodate requests.
Parking is underground and requires a QR code ticket first when you check in. Once in look for the area lit with yellow for the hotel.
The bad:
A little expensive and everything is extra. No in room extras such as bathrobes, lotion, water or mouthwash. You will get a mini fridge and safe. Rooms are clean but basic.
Parking lot is dark and a little confusing and spots are too narrow.
I get the sense that if an event is on, the hotel will be way more expensive and noisy.
Overall: We had a good stay and would go back.

Nice clean rooms. Missed a few details in my room like refilling the tissue box, but overall very good stay. The best part is the great location. Close to many restaurants and bars and the Bell Centre.
Only criticism would be the in-room coffee, which is awful. They could invest in a better setup like Nespresso, which many hotels use. Thankfully there is a Starbucks steps away.

Clean hotel, nice room, comfy bed, friendly staff, great location. The layout was a bit challenging for restaurants, parking, ect but everything else was great.

We had a wonderful stay at the Courtyard by Marriott in Laval, right across from Place Bell. Check-in was understandably busy due to the Jelly Roll concert, but the staff handled it smoothly. A woman who appeared to be a manager went above and beyond, handing out water bottles and engaging so kindly with my daughter, which made a great first impression.
Our room was a bit too warm for our liking, and we couldn’t quite figure out the thermostat. When we mentioned it, she immediately sent maintenance to adjust it. By the time we returned from the concert, the room was perfect.
Overall, the service was outstanding, and the staff truly made us feel welcome. We will absolutely stay here again next time we’re in Laval! Highly recommend.

Worst experience I’ve had at a hotel in a long time. Spent the entire day trying to get Wi-Fi and never could. You could tell the staff couldn’t have cared less. Sent some guy to my room to “check” something. All he did was look at my laptop and said he’d be back. Spoiler alert, he never came back. Glad I was only here 1 night.

After finishing work, I was walking through the courtyard with a friend, heading to my car on the other side of the building. While we were simply conversing, a group of approximately 7-8 intoxicated men from the restaurant upstairs on the second floor of your hotel to began yelling and shouting vulgar remarks at us from the balcony. As two women in this situation, we felt deeply uncomfortable and unsafe.
We immediately reported the incident to the manager on duty, expecting support and action to address the harassment. However, instead of handling the matter professionally or investigating our complaint, the manager dismissed our concerns. His response implied that both parties were at fault and even suggested that such behavior was to be expected from intoxicated patrons. This dismissal was highly unprofessional and invalidating, especially given the seriousness of the situation.
Additionally, the insinuation that we might have initiated or provoked this incident is both unfounded and insulting. We were simply trying to get to our cars, not engaging with or even aware of the people on the balcony prior to the harassment. While two women present at the scene sympathized with us and acknowledged the gravity of the situation, the manager and overall handling of the matter left us feeling disregarded and unsupported.
I would like to emphasize that this is not just about customer service; this is about ensuring safety and respect.
