Hôtel St-Thomas

My wife and I stayed for three nights while attending the CineMania film festival. This hotel has a great location and the staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was in great shape and the bed was comfortable. The cafe latte option at breakfast was a real treat. We felt completely at ease while staying at Hotel St. Thomas and hope to return on our next visit to Montreal.

A Mixed Stay in Downtown Montréal.
My wife and I spent one night at this hotel during a short visit to Montréal. While the location was excellent—right in the heart of downtown and close to everything—we found the overall experience underwhelming given the price.
The room was clean and had all the essentials: fresh linens, a tidy bathroom, and a comfortable bed. However, the value for money felt off. Everything seemed overpriced for what was offered.
Breakfast was a buffet with a decent variety, but nothing stood out. It was clean and organized, but the food was average at best. The potatoes, for example, were soft and clearly not fresh. Still, it was passable.
Service was polite but not particularly helpful. Staff were courteous, but when we returned late at night and found our room freezing—locked at 19°C—we couldn’t get assistance. There was no one at the front desk, and the person we did find wasn’t able to help. We spent the night cold and uncomfortable, which really affected our impression.
In short: clean, well-located, but overpriced and lacking in warmth—both literally and figuratively. Acceptable for a quick stay, but we wouldn’t rush back…

We love the place so much. We stayed here twice! It starts with the staff: Vincent, Anastasia and everybody else made us feel so welcome. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. The rooms were absolutely beautiful. We absolutely would return to this charming, classy hotel.

Don’t listen to the negative reviews of this hotel. It’s absolute perfect for a smaller hotel. Very quiet, lux vibe and amazing breakfast. The staff were the best part. Great at socializing and recommending good spots to eat. Approx 35 min to Bell Center and minutes from St Catherine’s. Will definitely return for a staff. The owner of the Hotel needs to give his staff a pat on the back. They are amazing.

I had a nice one night stay before starting my exchange semester in Montréal.
In the evening a radiator from the neighbour got really noisy and made my walls vibrating. The Hotel Staff immediately reacted and brought me to a new room. The Skyline view Suite was very nice and felt luxurious, but even my more “standard” room earlier was nice and spacious.
I slept very well and enjoyed a nice breakfast in the morning. The Gym just a view blocks torwards the pleatau is highly recommend.

Had a couple of days spare after a conference, so took some time to take in the sights and sounds of Montreal. Unfortunately, I managed to bring the British weather with me — 8 degrees, windy and never stopped raining.
Instead, I used it as a couple of days chilling out with the hotel being a big part of my stay. Quite honestly, it's awesome. The staff are super helpful and fun to chat with, the breakfasts were great, and the room was clean, quiet & super-comfy and it's close enough for a heathy walk through the city to Mount Royal. Will be staying there again when I head back to Montreal, well worth the money.

We had an amazing time at Hotel St-Thomas! Love the boutique hotel feel. All the staff were so sweet and helpful throughout our entire stay! Our room was beautiful and very clean — we even had a view of the city from our balcony. Breakfast was great, and to end your night I definitely recommend sitting at the hotel bar — Xavier and the other young gentleman were so welcoming! Would definitely come back + recommend to others. Merci beaucoup :)

Great experience, highly recommend. I don’t say that often yet I see myself booking this place again. Top notch staff, very attentive to details. Rooms are spacious with high ceilings nice view of the city, comfy bed and nice layout. The shower hot/cold mixer is a delight to use (perfect temp all the time! )
Location is great, 1 min from red line and walking to downtown is about 10-15 min. It is very quiet at night (no noise from the street), blackout curtains (motorized! ) for pitch black room 👍.
The breakfast is generous, all the basic and the staff brew perfectly dosed espresso ☕️🖤
My only wishes would be an A/C slightly quieter and more countertop in the bathroom.

I want to start off saying that I rarely post reviews and I never post negative reviews. I will sometimes post a positive review to help a business out, but I don't believe I've ever posted a negative review. Having worked in the service industry for years, I understand that everyone can have a bad day and I would never want anyone's business to suffer because of a bad day. Good intentions and service on behalf of the owners and employees always means more to me than the amenities. The reason I'm taking the time to write this negative review about Hotel St Thomas is because I believe this hotel is purposely deceiving people.
I rented a deluxe suite with city view and was given a room facing a cement wall. I purposely rented the room for the view of the city and the Montreal skyline. Upon arrival at the hotel, after seeing the room and mentioning the issue, I was told that I should have contacted the hotel beforehand to mention that I specifically wanted a room with a city view. I never thought I would have to contact the hotel to say that I wanted a city view when I rented a room called deluxe suite city view. That specific room should be renamed "deluxe" suite cement wall view. I've since read reviews on expedia and this is a common occurrence with this hotel. The hotel purposely misleads people over and over again and does not make changes. The front desk told me there was nothing they could do to help me but gave me an email address to contact management directly.

What a beautiful hotel and excellent service from the whole team at the hotel. It was the little things such as organising a pick up from the airport, recommendations for some superb restaurants and helping with reservations and hand written welcome note that made you feel special. The rooms were full of nice little extras large and well appointed with great extras such as bottle water in the reception free every day. The bar was such a great place to hang out after a busy day out and about in Montreal. Drinks by Xavier and the team were always fun and great company.
Breakfast in the morning was great and lots of choice.
Would definitely recommend and would be our first choice if back in Montreal.

My wife and I had such a great experience and stay at Hotel St Thomas. We visited for our honeymoon and loved the rooms! The bathtub was such a great add on too that we used each night. Top notch showers and overall bathroom too. The staff were also incredibly friendly and VERY accommodating too while we stayed. Opened doors for us and even allowed us to borrow an umbrella for the day. I’ve stayed in many hotels around the world and this one definitely was one of my top ones. Great job guys!

I had an incredible stay at St. Thomas Hotel in Montreal! I accidentally booked my stay for May instead of March, but Luca and RV went above and beyond to accommodate me. They managed to adjust my booking seamlessly, which saved me a ton of hassle. Their kindness and professionalism really stood out.
The hotel itself is fantastic—beautiful, cozy, and well-located. And a special shoutout to Xavier at the bar! He was awesome—super friendly, attentive, and made some amazing drinks that elevated the whole experience.
I highly recommend St. Thomas Hotel for anyone visiting Montreal. Their top-notch service truly makes all the difference!

We had a wonderful stay at Hôtel St-Thomas during our trip to Montreal. The surrounding neighborhood is vibrant and walkable, with tons of great little cafes and restaurants. We took long walks to the mountain overlook and to downtown when we were up for an hour long walk through lively city streets, and then did $15 — $20 CAD Ubers when we were tired. The staff was very friendly, the breakfast was fine (hot eggs and croissants, good granola/yogurt), and it's a very classy little hotel — more like an Inn than a big, cavernous new build — it fits the area perfectly. The rooms were very nicely furnished, and the shower is glorious. I highly recommend.

What a wonderful stay at Hotel St Thomas! I was on tour performing and it made for a great, relaxing stay. Access to the Espace spa was a great perk, breakfast was amazing, and the staff so helpful. The cherry on top was that I left a very important item at the hotel, and the staff found it for me and held onto it until I came back, and were so kind! Great Boutique hotel in the heart of downtown Montreal. Just came back from a two night stay. Staff were great. Rooms were nicely appointed. Complimentary breakfast was yummy. We would stay there again.

I recently stayed at Hotel St-Thomas (Room 202 on January 4), and while the property itself is nice, my experience was far from satisfactory.
The heat in the bathroom wasn’t working, leaving it freezing and uncomfortable to use. On top of that, the ventilation system was excessively loud, making it nearly impossible to sleep without earplugs.
To make matters worse, the bathroom door had a serious safety issue. The strike plate had been taped to block the latchbolt, preventing the door from fully latching. This workaround seemed to be the only way to ensure someone wouldn’t get locked inside the bathroom, as the door handle from the inside wasn’t functioning properly. Such a makeshift fix is unacceptable for a hotel and raises serious safety concerns.
What was even more disappointing was the lack of concern from the reception staff when I raised these issues. They didn’t offer any solutions, such as switching rooms or even providing a small discount to acknowledge the discomfort I endured. This lack of customer service was unacceptable, especially given the price of the stay.
While the hotel may look appealing, the poor handling of basic comforts, safety concerns, and guest complaints leaves me hesitant to recommend it to anyone.

We just came back from our trip to Montreal and couldn't recommend this hotel enough! We had the best time hanging out at their bar with Ibrahima and Nikky, they made the best cocktails and had the best stories for us. The check in experience was smooth. We loved how spacious and beautiful the rooms are. The hotel is located by St. Denis where you will find some of the best restaurants in the city. Everything we needed was within walking distance. The breakfast buffet included all kinds of coffee and food and kept us full. The staff and hotel was a 10/10! We will surely be back.
