Hotel Ruby Foos

I don’t know if this would be a 4 star hotel in my opinion. It’s a good hotel, although a bit aged and the location is okay in my opinion. It is close to a Walmart and a few food locations, and it is close to a train station.
The hotel just feels old from the carpet to the furniture to the general aesthetic. Despite that, the room itself was clean and the bed was clean as well. My room even had a bar island which was quite fancy and they gave me a bath robe which was a nice touch. (I didn’t use it though. ) The view was okay. It mostly showed the busy street with cars in front.
The hotel is quite cheap given the 4-star status so I can’t really complain, however.
There is no free breakfast included, but there is a Ben and Florentine beside it which was really good.

Super cozy and a great value. All of the staff are lovely people as well!
This hotel has a lot of amenities and is within walking distance of the metro.
Breakfast at the on-site restaurant was delicious with huge portions.

I had a great stay at Ruby Foo’s Hotel. The Chinese‑themed atmosphere is charming, but what really stood out was the service. Samia, the front desk receptionist, was incredibly kind and helpful. Her warm smile made me feel welcome right away. Thanks to her, the whole experience felt even more special. I’d definitely come back.

I had to visit Montreal to attend a friends surprise birthday party on 7th February. However travelling from Toronto and it being a day with adverse weather conditions I decided to stay at this hotel.
I did reach the hotel at 3pm, an hour before the normal check-in time. However Samha who was manning the reception desk at the time, immediately upgraded my room and cheked me in taking into consideration that I had travelled almost 7 hours in adverse conditions. I thought it was a very kind and professional act on her part. Putting the customer first.
The room was very clean and comfortable as well and the staff very courteous and helpful. The location is very centrally located as well closer to restaurants and other amenities.
Very reasonable rates too.

I've been coming to the Ruby Foos for many years. I remember the Ruby Foos when it was in its glory days, but those days seem to have passed. It used to be special — now it's more generic. Nevertheless, the mattress in my room was still terrific and the bed linens were still very comfortable. The shower was still great, with plenty of water pressure and a wide spray. The in-room heating was reliable and quiet. The windows are still soundproof — you don't hear any of the busy traffic outside. And the staff behind the front desk are still very friendly and helpful. But there are a lot fewer of them. My room was clean enough, but I saw more stains and holes in the wall than in the past, and the furniture has more scuff marks. My room phone didn't work. Initially I was given a dreadful room, which was changed. I'll still come back, because the Ruby Foos is fundamentally a good place to stay. I just hope it can be returned to it's former self. If you're coming, be sure to ask for a room in the Tower, even if you have to pay more for it. The other part of the building is not so nice anymore.

I don’t care if the hotel is dated. The rooms and overall environment was spotless. I’ve stayed in 5 star downtown hotels that couldn’t maintain the level of hygiene and cleanliness that we experienced at Ruby foos. Staff were also friendly, prompt and organized.

I had a wonderful 2-day stay at Ruby Foo’s Hotel. Everything was fantastic from start to finish. The staff were incredibly kind, helpful, and professional. The reception team welcomed me with the most amazing smiles, which made me feel truly comfortable and at home. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. I will definitely come back and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Montreal. Thank you for such a beautiful experience! 😊✨

I worked late until 4am. It was the only hotel that welcome me with no hesitation.
Receptionist was very nice young man made the reservation smooth and fast. Needed to wake up at 6am to go back to work, so, he made sure to wake me up on time.

Positive: The manager was extremely kind and helpful making sure that my stay in Montreal was very comfortable.

Perfectly located hotel, beautiful entrance, very nice amenities like a hairdresser, very good breakfast restaurant directly connected to the hotel (non included breakfast), a pool and even a ice rink. An AMAZING gym and sauna. I understand that they plan to also open a restaurant and bar soon in the hotel which adds to this long list of great amenities.
The rooms are definitely dated and maybe not up to 4 star hotel standards (I had the deluxe room). Also had a little or two misshaps on service for those standards. But for the excellent price, you get absolutely great value. I had a very good experience.

Spacious rooms, good prices, and good front desk service all around the clock. My sink water pressure was too strong and the sink took a long time to drain the water, but aside from that I have no complaints. The hotel also has free parking and complimentary 24/7 access to a gym/sauna.

One of the worst hotels I have been to. In fact its not even a hotel. Its a motel at best. The rooms and bathrooms look old and used. There is zero service. There isn't even basic amenities such as courtesy water bottles. No microwave. There is a small fridge. TV is super old. Even a Roku smart TV would could you no more than $200. The 4 star reviews are all fake. This is 2 star at best. I paid $340 for 2 night but it doesn't deserve anymore than $180-$200

Not my first time staying at this hotel. Very convenient, very spacious and depending when you visit, very affordable! An older hotel but very clean. Front desk staff are very helpful and friendly. The room was a little dated with the sink not really draining well (a few extra seconds but not a big deal). The A/C was a little noisy as it is a little old but I didn't mind as I considered it white noise. Overall a great experience. I'll definitely stay here again.

I think this is one of the more affordable hotels in Montreal, offering really good value for the price. The location is excellent — it’s just a short walk from Namur metro station, which makes it very convenient to get around the city, and only about a 7-minute walk to Royalmount Mall, where you can find a variety of shops, cafés, and restaurants. Also, very near to walmart.
The overall cleanliness of the room and hotel was acceptable, though there’s definitely room for improvement. The sheets could have been cleaner, but the bed itself was quite comfortable, which made for a good and restful night’s sleep. There was also a bit of a strange smell in the corridor area that could be improved, but apart from that, the environment felt safe and pleasant.
The staff were friendly, welcoming, and made the check-in process easy and quick. What I especially liked about this hotel was the on-site restaurant for breakfast — the food was fresh and nicely presented. I absolutely loved their Eggs Benedict and would highly recommend trying it if you stay here.
Overall, it’s a good budget-friendly option in a convenient area, with kind staff and a surprisingly great breakfast experience.

Not much to say. It's a simple room. We did not hear any noise from the other rooms.
We did find the room a little dated. The rooms could use a little TLC. We totally enjoyed having a Nespresso machine in the room. It wasn't working all that well, but that's okay. I did enjoy the coffee when the machine did work. Simple as that.
FYI, they now have a Ben and Florentine in the building for breakfast. I missed out.

Practical, clean and comfortable rooms. Courteous staff. Pool was simple but refreshing and deck is well furnished to relax in the sun. Close to many amenities: 10-min walk to Walmart, numerous restaurants, metro station and main roads. Photos on website don't reflect this nice hotel. Priced just right for what you get.

What's great: The staff here are awesome, friendly and helpful. The toiletries provided are lovely. I love that they're organic and local. The room has a clever sliding wooden door to darken the room, much better than blackout blinds. It's a bee friendly hotel and they even have a little bee hotel on premises! The outdoor swimming pool temperature was WARM :) had an attendant, lots of seating options for sun and shade and comp towels. There are plenty of great food options walking distance. Subway station/Metro is steps away.
What's not so great: The in room coffee machines are awful and the cups provided don't fit under them. The rooms are clean but you can see signs of wear, the A/C was loud. The inside of the pool looks like it could be refreshed.
It's not a luxury hotel, but it's clean, eco-friendly, great staff, great location, good value. Book online for a better price than just showing up.
