We were warmly welcomed and kindly accommodated into this lovely, and cozy building located in a very convenient area of Montreal for anything from just seeing bits of the city to be able to walk to any restaurant, bar, shop you could need during your stay. The hosts speaking both French and English also makes it a great stay for any English only speakers staying in Montreal for a few night. Overall 5/5 and I would definitely stay here again especially with its budget friendly room options.

Biggest mistake. $300 and she took $300 deposit which she claimed will be refunded if space not damaged.
These is nothing to damage, there is nothing good about it, smell like rat, hanger and fridge share space. You can’t move in shower, head boards made from stuff salvaged.
For safety reason 2 keys. The location is great, I believe that’s why they couldn’t care less. If you can avoid at all cost.

Much unlike other reviews, my partner and I recently stayed at this hotel over a long weekend and had a lovely time. The room was clean and recently renovated, and the owner was very kind and responsive. The place was super convenient to get to and from the airport, and also around the city. We had a great stay and will be coming back next time we’re visiting!

Contrary to a lot of reviews for this hotel. I had a wonderful stay in this hotel. Minh was very kind and attentive to our needs during the stay. Definitely recommend considering the price!

I needed a room ASAP! And most places I called turned me down because check-in was way later in the day, I was exhausted and needed somewhere to stay.
The hotel itself needs some maintenance. It reminds me more of a Hostel environment. It's convenient for a quick stay and the Host is super super helpful. More than the room itself… I really appreciate the FAST service, the kindness, and her willingness to go out of her way to give us information. Thank you so much.

If I could give this place any lower than 1 star, I would. This place was a disappointment. Very misleading on their pages. My hubby and I picked it for our anniversary stay and ended up with bunk beds. The manager would not let us swap to another room even though we were 1 of 4 people there. The maintenance was trash with a leaking ceiling in the bathroom. The front office sign is not where the front office is, and it's very confusing. The service was horrid. The rooms are tiny. We should have gone with a hostel and been better off. Please do not going this place your money. They are charging too much for you to be disappointed like I was. Save yourselves.

The advertising is a bit misleading, as the place is a shared apartment, and you have to ensure the room you book has a private bathroom (which costs slightly more). If you don't select a private bathroom, you'll be staying in a shared bathroom. The apartment is tiny, poorly decorated, and not well-ventilated. The passageway outside the apartment smells like urine. The room itself is very small, with little privacy and very thin walls. It's more like a prison than an actual place to stay. If you are very desperate for a place, then sure, but if you can splurge a little for a good night's rest, I would suggest you do so rather than subjecting yourself to this. However, if you are really desperate to be in the city and don't plan to sleep much, then you can book it. It's all about preference, but the staff were nice enough and kind. That doesn't excuse the horrible place, though.
They also insist on a $300 deposit when you get there, and this is not communicated beforehand. The deposit is for breakage, and to ensure you don't steal anything, this needs to be properly communicated. Overall, I would rate this place a 2/10. It's not really worth it.

I stayed here to attend some events at the Gay Village. I chose this hotel based on the pictures posted on the website, and its location. However, the room I was assigned was incredibly small, with a tiny sink and some old furniture. The door did not latch properly and the common areas seemed to have furniture picked up from the spring/fall recycling program (nothing matched). What was most disappointing was having to take the towel, toilet paper and clothes to the one shower in the entire floor because they had not cleaning supplies in it. Not even paper towel to dry your hands. This place is definitely not a hotel, or an airbnb, this is a hostal, and I would not recommend it for the price they charge and the non existent service.

Stay away from this shared accommodation. They advertise as HOTEL but it is less than a hostal. The rooms are incredible small, full of all artifacts, and old giant furniture. The doors hardly work so you have to lock them to go to the bathroom which has no towels, paper towels or tissue paper. You basically have to take all that with you.
The manager promised a nice room and attempted to charge me $300 dollars damage deposit.
They couldn’t speak very good English so it was difficult to communicate. But they basically said they were “repairing doors”.
The bedding was old and air conditioning did not work. I complained to the manager when she notified me that a face towel was dirty and they had taken $30 dollars. She threatened with saying I had left a mess in the room and they had proof. I expressed my concerns for the level of falsehoods and I will be calling Expedia to advise of this situation.
Likely the worst hotel and customer service I have ever experienced. Especially when you book a double standard room and you are given a tiny room with a sink and a mini bottle of men’s anti dandruff shampoo.
Avoid at all cost. Paying less can be quite expensive in the long run.

This should not be called a 'hotel'. It's so old-fashioned, with old furniture, loud, oudated air-conditioning units and windows that don't lock. The room we stayed in for a one night stay in Montreal had a shower inside the room, right by the bed, the decor was old-fashioned, tired and not cosy or comfortable in any way. The bedroom windows in this ground floor room faced the road and were very thin and didn't lock so we felt very unsafe and the "curtain" was literally see-through so anyone could see in to the room. For any guest, especially two young women this isn't safe. The man who checked us in was very clueless and had to keep calling his supervisor during the check-in as he couldn't answer basic questions. The shared kitchen was dirty and the cupboards were in very bad condition with chippings all over them and holes in them. They also try to get a deposit that is more than the cost of the room for one night via credit card (with minimum 5 days wait time to get it back) and when we questioned this the staff were incredibly rude. Incredibly disappointing and won't be returning, avoid at all costs.

What a cute little place to stay! I just needed somewhere cheap to sleep for a few days while I have a visa interview at the consulate. The lady who gave me the keys was so polite and gave me all kinds of info on what I can do on my spare time and how to get around! Outside your room there's a place to hang out/eat and a kitchen and thank God there was spare forks because I ordered food and didn't get utensils so that saved my night LOL.

In summary, we had a lovely stay at Hotel Mini! It's a great hostel; very clean, accommodating and in walking distance of some great local spots. The staff are incredibly kind and responsive. Great location for large groups. If you don't need high end resort amenities, you cannot beat their price. We'd love to stay again!
To elaborate on our situation, our large group was left stranded late at night by a scam Airbnb listing. The city was incredibly busy, and most places were full or closed.
Hotel Mini picked up the phone in the wee hours of the night, and very kindly figured out where 9 people could stay safely and comfortably at the last minute.
The staff had to do some work to make it happen, but they were kind and sympathetic as they bent over backwards to accommodate our large group and provide everything we needed.
They saved us and our trip!

Amazing experience! We cannot have been more grateful to have dealt with such an amazing owner. We originally weren’t planning on staying here since we had another accommodation booked but since our prior place was unexpectedly cancelled, we got relocated here through travellers insurance. It was complicated situation but the owner handled it with ease. The place itself is very clean and spacious and we get our own private shower. The only thing that’s shared is the kitchen and that has posed no issue. We get our own ac in the rooms and they work wonderfully and even a mini fridge to store our own food. Privacy and security are closely monitored and their system is full proof and easy to follow (we have our own set of keys since there are various locks to access the building). Overall, will definitely be coming here again, it’s a great place to stay for a great price and location.

This is an economy hotel. If you're looking for a 5 star hotel this isn't the hotel for you. However, if you're looking for a clean inexpensive place to stay this MAY be a good choice for you. The hotel owners were very nice and quite helpful giving us good suggestions on places to eat and things to see.
We booked a private room and the room was small but the linens were very nice, the air conditioning was ice cold (the way we like it) and the bed was comfortable. We were in easy walking distance from St. Catherine's street and a about a 20 minute walk from Old Montreal.
Again, this is a smaller, older hotel with many quirks, but if you're willing to overlook those quirks this could be a good location for you.

1/5 it is being advertised as a hotel but it is not most of the good reviews are fake and written by workers and owners.
The walls are so thin that u can hear the heartbeat of the person next door.
It was a very strange and funny experience everyone I knew was also very disappointed. If u r stuck on the middle floor "god helps you cause u will feel caged. U can hear people from other rooms you can hear people from upstairs and when u walk u will hear people downstairs knocking their roof.
It is also close to the highway, so guess what you will be hearing.
Fire trucks, police cars and much more.
I would suggest u rather sleeping on the streets than this place at least u dont have to pay $100 a night.
The management is not at all helpful.
The patio and terrace that they are so proud of are off limits most of the time.
You cant open the door past 9 and I think that is the best time to actually sit and have a drink.
So if you value your money please don't go there.
I beg of you Montreal is a beautiful city but everything in it aint pretty.

It's decent if you're not looking for too much. I was in room 61. The room had a microwave, sink, fridge, bathroom but just a shower and no bath tub. There was AC and a wonderful balcony. Towels, hand soap pillows and a blanket were provided but not shampoo. It's not your typical hotel. The curtains and blinds DID NOT keep the sun out in the mornings. Also make sure you ask for a private room if you want a private room! Apparently when I booked I originally did not have my own bathroom! Normally you assume you do with a hotel. Also the bathroom is quite small. The room was also clean but it is in an older apartment so it's kinda cute but nothing fancy. The wood floors are old and kinda creaky, the doors are old etc and you can hear doors open and close in other rooms as well as talking in the hallway. But decent price, you get what you pay for.
Also NO ELEVATOR! At least I didn't see one myself.
I also thought it was strange reception asked for the three digit security code at the back of my bank card…
