Hotel Le Deville

The Hotel le Deville is a small hotel near the city center. It is not luxurious, but if you are considering the Hotel le Deville, you probably don't need luxury; you need a clean place to rest and sleep while enjoying Montreal at a reasonable price, and for that purpose I unreservedly recommend it. It is within walking distance of the city downtown, and has close access to the metro at Saint Laurent or Berri-UQAM.

The guy who owns the hotel Carson was very abusive towards me. They just want your money too. I've stayed here a number of times but the treatment keeps getting worse. Last time stayed I had booked a certain room and he confirmed it. When I arrived I was told I'm in another room. I wasn't told in advance. They lied and said there was no other room. This room had a mattress that felt like cement. They couldn't sleep on it. I'm sure this was done deliberately by Cardon. I checked the web and there were 2 rooms still available. So I told Carson and he said it's $150, $40 more than the other room. I felt I was being ripped off. There was nothing cheaper in town so I took the room. They decided to book it next day and it was Sunday so he lowered the rate to $90. Big difference from $150. Too big. I booked it anyway but not returning. Horrible service by this owner. He sounds ill. I was there as week earlier and he knocks on my door even though there was a do not disturb sign on it. He said he needed an hour to change the mattress. Bull! There was nothing wrong with it and it was not urgent. He's not going to start changing mattresses on my time. I paid for the room. So he laughs and leaves. What's so funny? Creepy weepy. This is the room that now has a cement mattress in it as I mentioned. Imagine treating a customer like that. The hotel is no big deal anyway. It needs repairs. There's no facecloths only towels. It's sad. Hard to shower.

The rooms are a good size, clean, and good quality for the price you pay. The service was incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the location is great. Zero complaints, would definitely stay again.

I really don’t get how this place has so many nice reviews! The only good thing about this “Hotel” is that the owner is kind of nice! Yes it is in the center of the city BUT there are many aggressive Homeless people and drug addicts on that part of the street. Also the Room smelled a little bit moldy to be honest apart from that it was alright, small but not to bad. Overall I wouldn’t recommend It to women traveling alone!

Price is cheap. Room is simple but very clean. Location is in downtown. Few minutes walk to Metro. There were some 24hrs convenient store and restaurants around there. Service is good too. You can ask for laundry service with extra charge, which is very convenience.

The staff is the nicest person ever! We arrived 6 hours earlier than our clock in time and she made room and arrangement for us to have access to the room immediatly.
The rooms are super clean and very comfortable.
For the price, it is the best option out there. 5/5

Great location, clean rooms with very small bathrooms but all you need for your weekend stay in Montreal. Service was so so as it was hard to communicate and the price over the phone was different from what we payed while checking-in.

First of all I never expected crazy luxury or anything like that. Just a bed and a shower that worked would have been fine with me. However both those things were not in order, the shower barely worked and only when I was holding the showerhead myself. The bed was way too static so every time I moved around there were sparks of electricity. The TV had a crack and only showed about 5 different channels. The chairs and other furniture looked as if they had been thrown around for a few hours before being placed in the room and I am pretty sure the last guest in the room was not there voluntarily seeing how many scratches and dents this room had. Now all these things can be forgiven if there was not also some strange liquid running down the walls. I did not ask what it was and to this day I rather not have that information. Also I believe the site said the rooms are soundproof, which clearly was a blatant lie as I was woken up at least three times by people screaming and falling over themselves in the lobby, a chair might have been thrown against some stuff as well as far as I could make out.
At check in the receptionist barely looked at me in his jogging pants and did not really speak any language I understood. When after the first horror night I tried to check out the next morning there simply was nobody in the hotel that I could find to do so. So I went into the city and came back the same afternoon to check out.

I stayed here for three days. The location was perfect, and there were many things to do there. We did a lot of things only by walking, which was great. The room was good enough. The staff was kind and helpful overall, if you plan to visit Montreal, this hotel is a good and affordable option.

Lady boss is really friendly and approachable. The room is so popular and I'm glad to be able to snatch up one nite on my first day in montreal.
Location is perfect, walkable to chinatown and old montreal. Room is so comfy and perfect for me with the value that it brings.

Location is this hotel’s best asset. You can easily walk to Old Montreal, St Denis, etc. Room was simple, but clean and quiet. Felt safe in the neighborhood. A/C and heat working. There is a little coffee maker at the front desk (included).
What would make it better: more ways to hang up clothes/towels, have a fridge in the room.

Very basic, but clean and good location (if you don’t mind a little street noise). Great option for a budget stay if you are planning on exploring the city.

I spent six nights at this hotel last Christmas holiday with a friend and was extremely satisfied with the experience. The owner was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The location is ideally situated close to downtown, and many popular venues for winter activities and festive events are within walking distance. There are two metro stations and a bus terminal nearby. The room we stayed in was spacious and offered at a reasonable price.

I was pleased with my stay here as a solo traveler. I was able to check in earlier. I was also given a room upgrade, free of charge; it was nice having a bigger room. The room was clean. Worth the price. Would definitely stay here again.

Rooms has the amenities of a gas station restroom. There is no microwave, no fridge, and no light in the so-called bathroom. There aren't even walls in the bathroom — at least not opaque ones. I'll admit that a see-through shower can be romantic for a couple but a see-through toilet is not. The toilet-area offers no privacy at all and the glass walls don't reach the ceiling so all of the steam and stench will permeate the entire room and, because of the paper thin walls, probably the entire floor.
This place is nearly the same price as a 'normal' hotel so I'd rather be more vigilant and plan further ahead to grab a room in a proper place. If this was 70$ a night, you'd not hear word against this place from me. But you might as well get a hostel. This place is a rip-off.
The good news is it was very clean. They do a good job of keeping the room sterile.
