Boxotel Montreal

What a great little property.
It’s more industrial chic than glamorous however the quality of our stay was wonderful.
We were gifted an upgrade, the beds and pillows were very sleep worthy, the bath linens (and bathrobes) were a very good thread count, the room was very nicely equipped and the staff were very hospitable and thoughtful.
We slept thru breakfast so unable to comment on the food offering.
@Boxotel is a 7 minute walk from the centre.
There is paid overnight parking across the street in an open lot.
Book directly with the property versus a third party platform.
We stayed in Room 301 — Murphy bed, bathtub + separate shower, large desk, solid windows/low street noise, fully equipped kitchen, comfy lounge furniture.
I would recommend this property and will absolutely stay again!
(The housekeeping staff brought a mini bottle of champagne and chocolates for Valentines! )

What a wonderful place to stay in Montreal! We stayed for a whole week. The room is comfortable and has everything we needed. Stove, oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, washer/dryer. The bed was comfortable and easy to put away if we wanted more room. The service was great and the lobby coffee & breakfast options were perfect. I loved all the little Boxotel details on the dishes, linens, etc.
We were a 15 min or so walk from Provigo so groceries were easy when needed. 20 min walk from Old Montreal and Notre Dame. Metro Stations all very close, about 5 min walk. Felt very safe with the entrance codes to building and the rooms.
Would definitely stay here again — highly recommended!

The hotel was very clean and thoughtfully designed, with a warm and cozy atmosphere. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, and the overall security felt strong, which made the stay very comfortable.
I also really enjoyed the complimentary coffee in the morning — a small touch but very nice. The bathtub was surprisingly large, easily big enough for two people to soak comfortably. Overall, a great stay and I would definitely consider coming back.

My boyfriend and I traveled from the US to this hotel. At first, the immediate area is slightly off putting but once we entered the hotel and met with the manager Nabil we knew that we made the right decision. Nabil was so welcoming and accommodating. He went out of his way to give us a great experience and even offered us some salts for our in room bath. Our room was extremely clean and cozy! The gym area is also extremely clean. The vibes of the hotel were so cool! This hotel has everything you could need! Full kitchen in the room, large bathroom, balcony, washer dryer, and sauna and steam room on the 6th floor which were amazing. The hotel is within walking distance to a lot of restaurants. We used the parking garage down the road to leave our car. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting. We had a wonderful time. Thank you!

Just stayed there for 4 nights with my husband! We had a great stay. Our room was clean and spacious. I loved having the coffee bar and snacks in the lobby. The best part was the customer service. I didn't catch his name but the gentleman at the front was always sooooo nice to deal with! We would definitely book again!

Under the radar gem of a place to stay in Montreal.
My wife and I stayed for three nights at the Boxotel in Montreal. Talk about a great value. The room was super large. Had great bedding. Had a full size refrigerator and get this a washer and dryer which is perfect when you’re travelling and you want to do a quick refresh of socks, underwear shirts, etc. Service was fantastic. Very thoughtful items like yoga mat and umbrella supplied. There was even stuff (muffins, croissant) to eat along with coffees downstairs. Of course there was coffees and teas in the room as well. Location is short walking distance from Saint Denis and St Laurence Street. We found a funky coffee shop about three blocks in one Direction. And then in the other directions some great ethnic fast food spots. Price per night is super reasonable for what you’re getting. Highly recommend.

I had a lovely stay here. The staff was very friendly and helpful — thank you Nabil for the local tips and help with parking. The room had everything I needed and more (and was very comfortable), and the spa area was great to relax in. Parking was easy to find out front and this is a great central location to other things in Montreal. I would highly recommend!

Loved my stay here. The staff were excellent & very friendly. The room was huge, comfortable and everything I needed. Good location for access to the sights as well. Of the 3 hotels I stayed in my visit to Canada this was easily my favourite. See you again.

2nd stay at Boxotel. Unfortunately, it was not as good as last time. Room was clean, hotel was "fine" but it has lost its sparkle. The chalkboard signage has the old writing still fading through, showing what once was — kind of tells the whole story. Also — the main reason we booked again, the roof top jaccuzi / spa (which is what truly justifies the price of this place) was not working / "out of service indefinitely". This was not communicated to us at any point until we got our bathing suits on and went to the roof and saw the hand written sign. Apparently its been out a few weeks now, so would have been nice to have been informed prior to arrival — as I would have booked another hotel. At almost 300 a night, absolutely not worth it. Otherwise, the place is fine. Staff are doing their best, and are friendly — I know its not their fault.
Good location, smaller boutique hotel. Room has all you will need for a comfortable stay. Our room was not serviced at all during the stay — you will need to specifically ask for it if you want "hotel" experience.
C'est la vie I guess.

This hotel is located in what seems to be a neighborhood, it's quiet and quaint but located just a couple of blocks from much busier areas and LOTS of restaurants. The rooms are spacious, unique and extremely clean; my room had a full kitchen with a washer / dryer and dishwasher. I would have to say that one of my favorite parts of the stay was the customer service I received from Nabil. You can clearly see that he enjoys his job and, helping guests to make their stays as comfortable as possible. Many thanks to everyone at Boxotel Montreal!

Wow! I LOVE this hotel! Super clean (and I am picky), very quiet, extremely well thougt out room, very well equipped including dishwasher, washer/dryer, yoga mat/yoga block, wonderful hamam and sauna, nice rooftop terrace, outstanding client service from Terri and Nabir (which sets it apart from other self serve aparthotels). I cant say enough nice things about this place! I have already booked for my next visit. Nice area just outside of Downtown and short walk to Metro. Highly recomended!

Very disappointing stay.
I booked this hotel based on all the glowing reviews but was very disappointed.
When I walked into the room the first night, the room smelled like raw sewage and the security latch on the door was broken. It was late so I didn’t call the front desk.
The next morning, I told the concierge that the room smelled like sewage and the security latch was broken. He said he’d send someone up to check on the room and see if he can give me another room if he’s not fully booked after 12 noon. He said if they couldn’t resolve the issue, he’d send me to another hotel.
He added that we were on a very safe neighborhood. I did not feel all that safe.
I spent the entire day exploring the city. He never called. By the time I went back to the hotel, the concierge was gone. They do not have someone at a front desk 24/7 (which is fine) but beware.
So I had to sleep in that same room with the sewage smell.
In my opinion, this hotel is not worth the price. It’s a 2-star hotel at best.

Super cool and high tech hotel. It's amazing to see what exists to make homes and stays smarter for their user. The programmed lights and the automated curtains are the best thing in the room. You have to be very comfortable with the people on your room, the frosted glass is not as opaque as I thought. The room and the hotel are very minimalistic, but they have everything you need to have an amazing stay. I didn't think it would be worth the price, especially during the weekends but it is quite a unique experience, I wouldn't hesitate to come back during weekdays.

We don’t usually write reviews, but we had to for this one!
The kitchenette was fully stocked with cooking appliances. Included a dishwasher, stove, oven, microwave, fridge + freezer; really the best hotel kitchen we’ve experienced.
The room itself was well furnished and comfortable. Good mattress, storage space and bathroom. Everything was also quite clean.
The only negative is that the gym was very limited, and the actual gym space itself did have some insects. (However we did not see insects anywhere else in the hotel)
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. This will be our go-to hotel when we come back to Montreal!

Everything about our stay was perfect.
The hotel was impeccably clean and well designed. Most of it is self serve which made it feel like home. The lobby was always fully stocked with snacks and great coffee and espresso, and the manager was always close by if you needed anything.
The rooms had literally everything you need: fully stocked kitchenette, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, pots/pans, washer/dryer, dish-ware, fridge/freezer, ice, you name it.
As a bonus, the entire facility was minimal waste and very eco-conscious.
We can’t wait to come back!

My husband and I stayed here for our first visit to Montreal and we loved it! The room was beautiful, the location was great and service was excellent. We had a medical emergency while staying here and the concierge went above and beyond to help us.
We will definitely be back!

Stayed here for 7 nights and loved the experience! Very walkable to good eats and CHUM. The room itself was fully equipped with everything you'd need with a washer, dryer, stove, mini oven, fridge, microwave, standing desk, electric curtains — the works! It's basically a furnished studio. It had a great layout, everything felt spacious. The bed was even a Murphy bed that converts into a couch. This place is very well designed! Also, I loved their banana nut muffins they supplied for breakfast everyday.
