The location is PERFECT! We had easy walking access to Old Montreal and Notre Dame. It was a fantastic night. We got safe secure underground parking nearby for a very good price. The front desk staff were kind, courteous and helpful. There was a lot of good food to choose from at the buffet in the morning. Our room was very small, but perfect for what we needed it for. The rooms were clean. The beds and pillows weren't great and the air conditioning was loud, but we were exhausted from the walking. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I would stay there again.

The staff is very helpful and courteous. They are bilingual. The rooms are very small but are clean and well kept. Parking is limited and very tight. Washroom is also very small as is the shower but again it is clean. Continental breakfast is included and is good but nothing fancy (no waffles or pancakes ☹️). There cereals, toast, English muffins, yogurt, croissants, very nice fresh fruit. Location is excellent; right next to Chinatown and walking distance to. Old Montreal.

Very clean with friendly staff. Convenient for the convention centre. An decent American-style buffet for breakfast and a modern gym. Quiet, if small, room with a recently refurbished bathroom and aircon. No ironing board, safe or minibar, but modern hotels seem to do without these. Very close to a stop for the 747 bus if you're coming from the airport.

The rooms were perfect, some might consider them small but theres just enough for what is needed. The service was always pleasant. The only downside I had was that they advertised free parking on the website (which was the main reason we chose downtown) so my plan was to park the car and take the metro to different locations but the entire 3 night stay we were here we had to pay for parking and nearest parking lot was a 5 minute walk. So now I had to pay an extra $60 just to park. If I had of known I'd be paying for parking, I would have just rented a car to get here and rented another one back. Other than that, everything went well.

For an inexpensive hotel we found it great. Staff were helpful and one lad at the restaurant that was charming and super polite we enjoyed his company. Sorry for not remembering you're name, a young fellow with an awesome'fro. Cheers.

I recently visited Montreal for three days, last week we stayed at this hotel due to my friend having a corporate discount. The location is amazing, close to everything. The hotel itself is not bad, the rooms are extremely tiny as if it’s dorm room style, however this hotel does have bedbugs! We did not notice until we came back home to itchy red bumps. The hotel has confirmed the bedbugs after having called them once noticed. So I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. My advice would be to spend the extra money and book at a different hotel.

This place is pretty convenient, close to Chinatown, has a shopping mall with grocery store accros the street, University of Montreal is within 10 min walking distance. The downside would be that there is no kettle in the room to boil water, but there is a small espresso machine in the room that can boil a small cup of water at a time. The shower and tap water were extremely hot, burned my hand the first time. The mini fridge works in the room, but it was not cold enough to keep my ice cream from melting. Our room was very small, lucky we travelled light and did not have big luggage. Big luggage will definitely crowd the room.

They put us in a room that the air conditioner was broken, the guy tried to fix and he couldn't speak in English (and we didn't speak in French) so was difficult to understand. It was late and we couldn't move room that night, but at the another day they changed us to a nicer room and gave 15% back of the money for the last night, but at the new room has problem at bath tub, the bathroom drain was clogged so the water wasn't going down (also the floor was disgusting) … how it was our last night there, we didn't complained again but was it disappointed in general, I wouldn't back there. The good is that is close to some touristic points and the breakfast is quite good.

There were minor drawbacks with a collection of confusion from the cashier, but the attendant resolved us instantly that inconvenience even though he did not have the obligation.

It was a short stay. But overall it was ok. The rooms were a little too tiny though. They provided breakfast which was nice. Going to the underground parking? Don't take low floor clearance cars like us. Ramp is too steep and it will rub against the floor, at least when coming out.

We were a French tourist group of 20 people and were in rooms of 4 close to each other, a beautiful view on the Avenue, a good proximity to the tourist sites of Montreal (Chinatown, Notre-Dame de Montréal, Montreal in light, …), the bathrooms had a bit of trouble which made half of the group went to shower in the other half's rooms. Otherwise very good night and very eager to come back.

Very tiny room (you don't go there for comfort…). It was clean. Breakfast was ok. We went for 2 nights and reserved a parking space for the 2 nights, but what a surprise the second night we were kicked out of the parking because there wasn't enough space for the newcomers… we had to find a parking 15 min of walk with our luggage. The staff at the front desk were not helpful at all and didn't care. Not gonna go back yo this hotel!

Clean. Hotel staff are nice. This hotel is in the heart of down town Montreal and is within walking distance to a lot of sights. The only cons: parking is crazy expensive, and the air freshener they pump into the lobby can give you a migraine.

This hotel is ideally located in the city centre of Montreal: close to the place des Arts and the Centre Desjardins, the Chinatown, 5 minutes walk from Notre Dame Cathedral, 10 minutes from the old port. Plus it's pretty affordable!

The hotel was very nice and the room was very good. It is comfortable with everything you need although they are rooms of a small area.

March 2018 Room clean, comfortable beds, hotel well located, but the website and voicemail message of the manager of the reception on the phone in English only disappoint me immensely! To park his car or leave it is a headache the barriers do not work and the people who respond for help are silly. To get information on the phone I waited 20 minutes and I had to call back 3 times to have someone, who apologizes and explains that they are overwhelmed. Putting more staff would only do good to their reputation!

Suitable and well placed… Seen it pleasant on a part of the city.
Go see Victor at the souvenir shop (the small key door, postcard, Magnét… not too expensive).

Centrally located and within walking distance of Old Town, Travelodge Montreal is easily the best reasonably priced hotel in any city I've visited. The rooms are compact (in the European style) but comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. A plentiful breakfast is included. Across the street is the Complexe Desjardins which is part of the underground city and connects you to a good portion of the city and metro stations, although walking above ground is much more beautiful and (to my mind) interesting. The underground area is one astronomically big mall. It's major redemptive factor is a food court (try Baba for excellent Lebanese fare) and shelter from the weather. Regardless, Travelodge is the only place to stay without sacrificing location, comfort or economy.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights as we where going to see a show. We arrived late at night and had to buzz to get in. Once in the check-in process was easy and the room was exactly what I expected. Breakfast was offered with our room which consisted of yogurt, hard boiled eggs, bread/English muffins, croissants, cereal with coff, tea and juice. I was totally fine with that. You could order other items for a price of $6.95 CAD. All in all it was a great stay.

The rooms are nice and clean. Relaxing and calm mood. I have nothing to complain on the service. (I you are very tall, you may find the single beds a little small). Very satisfied.

Very good location, too small room and limited parking.

Great location. 30m walk to Mt. Royal and close to other sites. Friendly staff and the building looks nice from the outside. The rooms are small, with small beds. If you're taller than the average man, you might not have a big enough bed in a room for 2-3. Bunk beds make efficient use of the small rooms, so they're fine if you just need a convenient place to sleep (unless you're tall). The room didn't have a fridge or microwave, and the cleaning staff didn't replace our (full) garbage bags when they did their room service. If it wasn't for the prime location, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. Others may enjoy it, however.

Perfect location Breakfast appreciated! Nice staff (in any case what I met)! But the room was too small and the bed uncomfortable.

Stayed on the third floor in a triple room (it was cool having a bunk). The room itself was clean albeit a tad on the small end. Breakfast was simple but sufficient and the staff were friendly. It was very closer to Chinatown and other food facilities, and a (relatively) quick walk to Notre Dame. All in all, a positive stay.

The hotel is nice and clean. Some of the staff are haughty and standards in rooms flactuate depending on cleaning staff. It was otherwise a nice experience.

People complain a lot I see. I loved this hotel. Very modern lobby and the breakfast buffet was clean, as was the gym. Sure, not the best choices at breakfast but I loved the chocolate croissants. The room is small but I don't care, it's not like I live here every day. My room has a nice view, and the staff were all very friendly. I will definitely be staying here again when I come back. If you've ever been to a Travelodge in the USA, you know this is a flight of stairs up in terms of quality!

Very central, but a little cold…

Not that bad for the location, but it seems they'll charge you a prime fee if you don't do a reservation before requesting a room. The price we received was more that double the reservation price and, Becuase I was on a rush I didn't check beforehand. Now I know.

Its a nice hotel. You get what you pay for! And I say that as a good thing. People complain about the room sizes… But my wife and I came to Montreal to view the city, not sit our room. Very clean upon arrival, and everyone has been friendly! And the location is perfect. Wifi and breakfast included and on site parking for 22$ is not bad at all. Overall a great stay!

It's a crappy hotel. The room for 4 is the one I show in the picture, that's the room for a family of 4 members. The attention on the front desk is very poor quality and not professional. Totally disappointed with the hotel.

Well-located hotel: Near Chinatown, 10 minutes walk from the old Port, 15 minutes walk from St. Catherine East Street. Bus stops in front of the hotel (including the one to the airport). Metro Station nearby.
The room was clean. Clean and modern bathroom. The staff were very friendly and comfortable. No one from the restaurant and the floors very friendly.

The only good thing I can say about this hotel would be that it is close to restaurants, bars and to shop. As far as the rooms are concerned, my college dorm was bigger and cleaner. I would not recommend hotel.

Good hotel for the price. Front desk staff really helpful… cleaning staff a bit rude. In general the rooms are extra-small but you are located in a perfect spot in Montreal… close to Chinatown… metro station… old Montreal… etc… etc.

No one says please, thank you, excuse me, sorry etc. A bus boy ran right into my boyfriend while he was getting breakfast, causing my boyfriend to spill his cereal all over and the bus boy just gave him a dirty look as if it was his fault. The hostess who checked us in did not ask us if we needed a parking spot, where we were parking, etc, even after we mentioned driving 7 and a half hours to get there, so we assumed when we were let into the underground parking garage earlier that day that we were allowed to park there. Later that night we had to find a pharmacy because I had a headache and needed some Tylenol. When we returned, we weren't allowed back into the parking garage. The same woman who checked us in then informed us that the entire parking garage was filled, that parking is not included in the cost and that we didn't tell her we needed a spot to begin with. We then had to find and pay for other parking at 11pm at night. Overall, if you are stuck and can't find anything else available, this place will do the trick. Otherwise, I would advise going elsewhere.

Great location near the Old town, simple room, but clean and good breakfast.

The hotel was fairly decent, friendly staff and our room was for the most part very clean. Went here for a spontaneous trip from Ontario and just kinda booked whichever hotel. Hotel is in a good location (downtown) on one of the main roads. The room was small as it was only a 1 doublebed room. Bathroom could be cleaned a bit better but overall was not a bad place to stay for a few nights. Would stay again if I'm the city.

DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CAR HERE! We are giving this hotel 0 stars. The pictures make it look like a nice safe place to stay. It is outdated and makes you feel a little uncomfortable. The hotel manager will respond stating that they advertise this as an older hotel. I don't have a real problem with an older hotel especially for one night, our REAL issue is our car was STOLEN from their park and fly. They do not tell you ahead of time that you will need to sign waivers stating they are not responsible for any damage your car may get, along with being stolen. Red flag, and not enough time to look for an alternate spot. They did NOT show any remorse. Our car was parked right in front of the hotel practically next to the window where you register and people are working the desk 24/7! The only thing they helped us with was giving us access to call the police and report it stolen. A place with good customer service would have helped us look for a rental car to get back the the States and compensated us for our room/park/fly expense.

The hotel is clean, the attached are friendly. I speak English and they have effortlessly been able to transition from French to English for me. The complementary breakfast offers a good selection and the coffee is pretty tasty! The rooms are small. Much smaller than I anticipated, but the location is walking distance to many great sights! Be warned, parking Costa extra.

Good breakfast but not abbonadante. The location is great to visit the city. Great flaws were the rooms! So tight you can't even walk.

The location of the hotel is very convenient since close to the city center and right next to a bus stop that makes the connection with the airport. But the rooms are small (especially in reference to the usual size in North America) and correspond to the standard of a 2 or 3 star Parisian.

The hotel's location is wonderful. Situated in the heart of downtown with close proximity to most of the tourist attractions like Chinatown, old harbor, shopping malls and even an area where the city holds big events. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Before I decided to go here I read a few comments, but truly the fact that this hotel was downtown and the price is what took my heart. The breakfast was included with my room which was good, there was lots of choices. I read a comment before that said you can't leave with a banana, I decided to ask why. A worker at the restaurant showed me a sign that stated it was forbidden to leave the restaurant with food. I found this to be funny. Why where guest commenting on people who stopped them when those workers was doing their job. In the end the hotel should fix this flaw. I will definitely be coming back soon.

First and foremost, the location is absolutely amazing and there is no shortage of nearby restaurants, shopping centers, and tourist attractions within walking distance from this hotel. The staff members are also generally amiable. I did not personally request much help from them though, apart from asking where a few things were located and check in and out, so I'm not sure if they would've been helpful in other areas. The downside to the hotel: the rooms are very small and cramped and the air-quality is dingy; the only window to filter air in and out is a small one in the bathroom. The complementary breakfast is also mediocre. They do offer toast, cereal, fruit, croissants, and a few other food items, as well as tea and coffee, but most of the food provided (especially the fruit) is somewhat old. The free Wi-Fi is pretty fast and they do have an exercise room as well. Overall, the hotel has a great location and kind staff-members but the quality of the hotel rooms and services are sub-par. At the very least, the cost of the rooms per night ($170 was my rate) is better than most of the nearby hotels and, for the area, the room-size seems to be standard.

The hotel was in walking distance of the Cathedral which was good. The hotel was ok. Breakfast ok, Beware — We stayed for two nights at the beginning of May — Do not attempt to take a banana out of the breakfast room. The girl checking the guests into breakfast shouting to two separate gentlemen that they are not allowed to take the banana out and must eat it before leaving the breakfast room. How embarrassing for them. Note that there is a good supermarket opposite and also a shopping mall.

We stayed in a room with 4 single beds my friends and I for two nights and we were all unsatisfied. The beds were very uncomfortable, very stiff mattress, there was no parking included (20$ extra a day), the breakfast was okay, but overall the room was overpriced and never would I recommend this hotel to anyone.

Nothing fancy, but a decent value for the location. Shopping mall, supermarket and Place des Artes are all just a short walk away.

Very small rooms, the size of a big closet! Def. Over priced, also 20$ parking per day, Breakfast is open till 11 but there nothing left by 9:30ish, they don't refill the very limited options, the only good thing was the staff!

I have stayed at this hotel before and the room quality has improved. The rooms are really small but for a one night stay it's correct. The breakfast also had more options than the previous times I stayed at this hotel, which was very pleasant. I would come back if I ever need a quick one night stay in the city.

Good location and have a wonderful croissant for breakfast. Parking could be cheaper for guests.

My wife and I had a very poor experience at Hotel Travelodge Montreal (Rene Levesque location). Our room was extremely small and incredibly overpriced. The room lacked basics such as an iron. Speaking of said iron, I had to order one to be delivered to the room and it took over 30 minutes to arrive. Our experience was that the staff was not customer service oriented. I also had a credit issue during my stay where my card was compromised (note: this had nothing to do with the staff at Travelodge, but rather this occurred elsewhere in Montreal). Regardless, prior to me knowing this the account manager was tasked with helping me to seek an understanding of my problem. She requested that I send her information pertaining to the charges on my card that I was disputing. I followed through and did this, but she lacked the decency to even respond to my inquiry, despite her requesting that I provide her with said information. I found her to lack courtesy and professionalism; this frustrating encounter essentially summed up our entire experience with this hotel. Please do your homework before you confirm your stay.

I am a frequent traveler and I went on a business trip to Montreal with a friend and my daughter. I paid $160.00 USD approx. For 1 night (Tuesday). I checked in at almost 1.00am in the morning. The room was very small and not much space to move around. As I was checking out, my friend and daughter decided to eat some food in the lobby lounge that we bought earlier. Checking out took 15 mins. After I finished, I went to join them and as I took my first bite, the Manager came over and told me that I cannot eat in the lobby. There is "No eating" sign posted anywhere. Since I am not familiar with Montreal, we were going to have something to eat before driving back to Toronto. I have stayed in various hotels in the past and it is the first time I was told that I cannot eat in the lobby. The manager (Naja El Khoury) has no human relation and industrial skills to deal with a petty matter like this. I cannot understand what could possibly go wrong if someone is hungry and is having something to eat before leaving town. It is not like we were having alcohol or behaving in an earatic manner. Because of the attitude of your manager, I would not recommend any of my families or friends to stay at your hotel. I could have gone to another hotel and get my money's worth.

Zero parking, was a nightmare took 30 min to find one and check in, the room was the size of a broom closet… Bathroom was okay. Rm 1109.

The hotel staff were friendly, but there were many problems we had with our stay. To start off, they put us in a handicap room, although neither of us needed it, without asking. The room had an awkward layout and an odd bathroom layout. There was no hairdryer like we were told there would be, we could not find the remote for the TV until the third day (it was under the bed). We asked for a Do Not Disturb sign, since there were no signs and no pencil/paper in the room, and they instead sent up three coat hangers; there wasn't even a closet to use them with. The first day, they did not clean up our room (while using a hanger as a sign), but they did on the second day, and when we got back, there were no new towels; we had to ask for those, also. The Wi-Fi, compared to other hotels, was very low; 1mbps down, 500kbps up seemed to be the limit, whereas most hotels offer at least 3mbps up/down for free. While not a bad stay, the experience at the hotel left much to be desired.

Friendly staff, but problems with the room, bathroom light didn't work, door to room wouldn't open. Lots of noise from rowdy bachelor party. Room super small and not too clean.

With 7 out of 11 floors currently a construction zone, this hotel is not fit for purpose. Inexcusable lack of judgement by management, absolutely terrible.

SUPER FRIENDLY! The staff at the Hotel were SO NICE and accommodating! The room was very clean and very cute! GREAT location and only 4 blocks from the U. S. Consulate. I must say their continental breakfast was the BEST I have ever had and it was FREE! I highly recommend them.

I DON'T WRITE REVIEWS but now I know the importance of reading and putting up your own personal experience. Please reconsider your choice when picking this hotel for a quick and cheap stay. I have stayed at a couple hotels/motels where I just needed to change brush my teeth and GO! but this hotel the room that I booked I couldn't do that AT ALL. what i'm getting to is BASICALLY the pictures made the room LOOK like it had space. I went to Montreal with my family for a weekend and they gave us 2 single beds YES I SAID SINGLE BEDS! I DIDN'T KNOW HOTELS STILL HAVE SINGLE BEDS! and a bunk! it looked like a HOSTEL RATHER THAN A HOTEL. and the service was ridiculous the guy "junor" he has the worst customer service skills and don't let me get started on the "manager" that was on his cell phone the whole time not even getting up to assist us with the matter of cancelling are rooms through expedia with no penalty!. what i'm trying to say is we wasted 3 hrs with these people and expida to cancel our reservations and we got A BIGGER AND BETTER CLEANER HOTEL 5 MINS AWAY AT THE Le Nouvel Hôtel and Spa AMAZING AND IT WAS CHEAPER! RECONSIDER BEFORE YOU BOOK WITH THIS HOTEL.

On arrival, the receptionist fell in love with my first name. She has good taste, the hotel can therefore be as well;).
It is true that the rooms are not great but large enough to be able to open fully 2 big suitcases. We travel a lot and this was not at all shocked us.
The same for the bathroom. We found it very good.
The building is ten storeys, so if you're lucky you can have a lovely view.
The breakfast is not exceptional. Toast, citrus and grain. If you want something like brunch, it is possible to ask in the kitchen with a supplement. No scam everything is written in the entry.
The hotel is located 5 minutes from the place d'armes (metro too) and so in old Montreal, very nice.
3 minutes from the place des arts where we could participate in the "Just for laughs" festival (July).

Be careful where you park at check in I was advised by counter staff that I was good as long as the 4 ways where on. Just infront of the front doors. Came back to the car and found a ticket $150. Manager was great and took the $150 off the final bill. Rooms are small but I found them clean. The bathrooms shower was small there were stains on the wall. I dont want to know what that was. I stayed clear from them. One Ice machine in the hotel. Really yes Parking is a problematic as it is 1st come. 1st night I had to park 2 blocks away $20. Continental breakfast is bad. Location is the only best part of this place. Wi-Fi is a joke this is 2014 not 1984. The manager is great. The hotel is not not.

Close to everything from food to shopping. My boyfriend and I we're in Montreal for the International Jazz Festival and walked everywhere. *Continential Breakfast* — make sure to ask front desk for "American Continential Breakfast" cards or else your bacon and eggs are extra. Other than that, we had a pleasant stay.

Literally sitting in the middle of the bed looking around wondering how you can even call this place a hotel. Should be demolished. We live in 2014 — there is no excuse for Wi-Fi that takes 30 minutes to load facebook — especially when I'm paying $129 a night. Stay away, or you deserve everything you get.

We booked 2 rooms for 4 people. Total cost with parking 606$ the location of this hotel is great, the rooms however aren't. I may as well have stayed in a one star, no microwave, no fridge, we were given a hard time about wanting more ice buckets and towels, the continental breakfast had no hot meal options. The bathroom was tiny, the toilet didnt flush properly it would just fill with water leaving you holding the handle down for a solid 20-30 seconds, it had a corner shower with a curtain so the floor always got wet The walls in the building on our floor were damaged and we had a noise complaint brought to our attention at 830 in the evening. When "quiet time" didn't start until 10. The website showed only the nicer of our rooms and the view. Well. There really wasn't one, can't change that!. I did ask for an early check in which wasn't doable. In the dining room there is a hutch with some plants and beta fish inside the jars. Nice touch except one of them is near death. The customer service people at the lobby desk were very nice and helpful. The underground parking is small and in order to park you must pull over to the right. Where there's minimal space, go inside, check in and give your plate number. A lot of hassle, you would think the website could prepare you for this or you could give your reservation name. Stay here if you don't care about the room and amenities. I'll be sure to not stay here again.
