I implore you not to stay here and wish I had heeded other bad reviews. The hotel is described as "basic" on its website, but is in fact sub par: rooms are tight, with beds against the walls, and mine was not clean (dirty carpet and belongings from last guest present) ; the t. V. Did not function; Wi-Fi connection was limited; air conditioning ran 24 hours and could not be adjusted by guests; breakfast servings were sparse and unpalatable with a $4 tip demanded. Hotel staff would not compensate for my displeasure and assured me that a poor review is no problem for them. Prove them wrong and stay just about anywhere else.

Very small and old room. The hall has terrible smell. Unfriendly staffs. Breakfast is included but you have to pay mandatory service fee (10$) and tips (2$) per person every day. I and my partner came there at 11pm with notified arrival time. Nobody was there. After a few call and waiting, finally we could check in at midnight. Good location, inside the old Montreal and city port. However, still a big no-go for me.

Old charm in modern building. No elevator so good limited luggage. Very convenient location, 5 min from old Montreal downtown. Breakfast is delicious and staffs are very friendly. Rooms are good for two people.

Not a bad value. No elevator. But only 3 floors. Good location. Long walks to Notre Dame and Chinatown. Shorter walk to old port. No coffee till 8am. 3 keys. O e for front door. One for stairwell. One for room. $50 charge if lost.

No ac. Owned by greedy middle easterners. Way too creaky, musty, and just unpleasant. My charger port didn't work either and a 500 dollar fine if you clog the toilet.

I was very disappointed in the past month bad clean room.

Its location is amazing. Breakfast is freshly made and served. But everything else is just really bad.

When I first checked in I foun my room has no ac no refrigirato no microwave no coffe maker. No cabnet or storsge for the clothes the worse than that is you can not open the windows to have some fresh air goin in and there is no windo in the bath room. The hotel does not have elevator it was hard for me and uncomfortable to use the staire two to three times a day. Some of the staff was unfriendly and some was careless. The hotel owen by a guy from iran. I will not booked in this hotel again it was such bad experience : — ( it wasn't worth the money .

No warm water in the morning, the bed is not even a bed. Creeks with every movement. Fake boards, no springs. The rooms are small and unkept. Breakfasts are not even included. A nice entrance, but owner clearly does not care about the people staying here. It feels like we are in a closet.

Not great. The hotel has no parking, the rooms are tiny and look awful. There was pubic hair in the washroom. The room heater did not heat the room. I felt as though I was going to be murdered. Brutal hotel, even for Montreal.

Just shameful! The worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant: very dirty cutlery, very average food and above all pure scam: The boss forced us to pay a tip of a value much higher than that which is in rigor in Quebec, charged Food that was included in the dish on the menu (+ 3. $50 for 5 French fries…), brings food to the table without us asking them to be able to charge us then! We were alone in the restaurant (which didn't stop us from waiting for our dishes for 30min), and I understand why! To avoid su you do not want to end up with a tiny and insipid burger at + $20…

Crooked, FORCE to tip above the 15% usual in Quebec. Addition of the additional consumptions, breads for the meal added when it was given of office and not ordered. Burger with fries included at $16 expect you to pay the fries separately in addition to $3.

Old hotel. Rooms too small. Food at the restaurant is absolutely on zero level. They do not cook but use frozen food to prepare your meal. Expensive as well. Bottle of water is CAD5.25. Rooms are not properly cleaned, walls have stains on them. TV does not properly function. Staff are not really friendly besides one girl at the reception. There is no elevator so you have to drag your belongings upstairs on your own. But location is very close to old town. If you want comfort stay somewhere else. The owners of this property really need to invest money to rebuild the place and hire better staff.

Good location. Old and sloppy room. About the service a new receptionist okay, but another receptionist with bad milk.

Great location! We visited in 2010 We were helped with reservations at a guest information stop along the highway. BUT when we arrived, the front desk personnel lacked personality and the rooms were small, aged, and dingy. I was 8 months pregnant and couldn't turn around in the bathroom it was so small! There were some long red hairs on my pillow case… yuck! There were very audible screams coming from down the hall at night… creepy or gross, you decide. Kind of felt like a brothel, do not so surprised lol… When we first arrived, we got a room that was so crooked our bed tilted back and you felt like your head was lower than your feet while lying in bed… we were able to have our room switched. The woman at breakfast was friendly, but not the best food. It would not be a first choice.

It's an old building, no elevator, the room has only two outlets, they announced freebreakfast, but there's a catch, the gratuity isn't included, is an extra charge. The who did my check in, wasn't friendly at all, but the night staff eas really nice and helpful. The location is great, close of a lot of points of interest. There's a restaurant inside the hotel.

The WORST HOTEL I've ever stayed in. Rubbish rooms and staff are worse. You can't even use the bath … Quote "its not safe to use the bath! " This is what the manager told us, so they don't supply bath plugs. We spoke to the owner and they said they don't care we are always full.! This is the attitude you get as there are people using this hotel because they are a little cheaper than the others BUT I can tell you now its not worth the money it will make your holiday a living nightmare. Seriously if you want the worst time of your life in Canada this is the place to stay! RUDE, DISCUSSING, DIRTY, BROKEN, NOISY, RIP OFF, these are only some of the words that would describe this place. Don't say I didn't warn you!

Worst hotel and stay ever. The room was unclean. Staff was very rude. Smelly and stingy. Very disgusting.

Stayed here for 3 nights and it was pretty rough. Although I'm a student and got a last minute deal on Expedia for $60/night, regular pricing is ridiculous. Rooms are old and beds very uncomfortable. Toilet was un flushed and clogged prior to check-in and the bed sheets were covered in stains. We were told to not flush toilet paper and had to put it in a garbage bag. They also came up to our room and gave us a plunger to use for it. Very odd. Breakfast was supposedly free but they told us after the fact the bacon was $8 extra. No elevator and Wi-Fi doesn't work. Wouldn't recommend but if you're on a budget and need something cheap, it works for short visits.

Old but above all it is not clean and the employees do not know smile.

The rooms where small. Internet was not great. The whole building is slanted on a heavy grade. You can't control the a. C. In the room. The staff are great. And the pub is great but a little over priced. 3 stories without an elevator.

Location was great! The room was very small and antiquated. The service was mediocre at best. Cleanliness was an absolute issue; stained bed sheets, moldy shower curtain, dusty and stranger's hair on pillows and bathroom sink. For the price paid I would rather just AirBnB somewhere else. Don't recommend this place.

Good location, relatively quiet, helpful staff. The lack of elevator was hellish. If you have anything heavy, don't book on the third floor, the drag will drain your energy before you can even step into the city. No room for your bags in the room, either. The shower head was pretty low, and I'm average height. On the third floor, on the back side of the hotel, to the right of the stairs, was my room. Two Little beds, a window in the room and in the bathroom. The window in the room faced a brick wall, but the bathroom faced someone's backyard or something. If only it were the other way around! Someone else mentioned Wi-Fi, but I didn't see a wave of it!

We went to eat Friday February 17th around 7:00 pm. We were four people. The service was very ordinary but the food was foul. I have never eaten spaghetti as bad as this in my entire life. It was cold, very oily and almost no sauce and in addition it was cold. We all asked for it to be baked, where was the cheese? We didn't know. I asked that my spaghetti be warmed up, it was spent in the microwave. What about the shared salad we had at the entrance. The heart of an iceberg, 1 tomato cut in 4 and a lot of vinaigrette. I didn't eat anything and it was disgusting. I do not recommend this place at all. Just go a little further and you will definitely find a better place.
