My stay was not the best. Upon walking in, I was hit by a smell that I can't even describe. By the second and last night, I could tell that musky smell came from the carpet floor! The room was clearly closed off with no airflow. Although there was an A/C, it wasn't turned on prior to our arrival. There were a couple of mosquitoes and butterflies in the room, some of which I had to kill and flew out the rest. While the mattress felt comfortable, there were only 2 pillows available for the bed. The box frame looked old, scratched, and may I say a bit dirty. The small breakfast-for-2 table and chairs that were provided were a nice touch, but 3 minutes in you could tell the chairs felt like rocks. A full kitchen with a stove (the only appliance in the whole place that looked somewhat new), fridge, counter complete with sink and water-heater was provided, but the kitchen is closed-off with a door and no windows, after passing by the sleeping area. The TV (very old school Panasonic model) had no sound and I had to play around to hear something, with a remote that only worked for the cable. The bathroom was decent. They provided soap with two half-used toilet paper rolls. The towels provided on the other hand were ripped, with human hair still stuck on them. Good thing I brought my own. At least the bathroom had an outside window. Hope you don't have too much garbage because you only get one small bucket, that's in the bathroom.

Shine motel was clean and comfortable. It is a modest motel, not luxurious, but it had the basics. There was a kitchenette, but no coffee in the room.

This little Motel has just what you need, and nothing you don't. A mid 70s styled Motel, very convenient location in picturesque Summerside PEI. The owners are very kind and obliging. Was a good fit for our emergency trip over with a sick family member in the hospital. A warm dry place to lay our heads and grab some much-needed rest, a quick shower and out the door again. Not the kind of Motel / hotel where you hang around during the day and Ride water slides.

Good enough for most of us. Cheap in the off season. $65.

Very friendly… let us stay pass check out time… very clean… sleep well.

Get what you pay for. Good people not so good rooms.

Friendly owners, clean and basic. Full kitchen was a pleasant surprise and the room is quite big even with 2 beds. Older place an could use updating, but everything works. At half the cost of anywhere nearby it is a great deal.

Don't go there! While the staff try hard they really have no idea what is important in a hotel. We did not feel safe. Non residents hanging about the place, blinds without all the slats and doors that could easily be kicked in. We had to go and buy towels and pillows and a blanket as the bedding was awful and old. The bed was so painfully hard we ended up leaving two days early as we were finally able to find other lodgings. TV did not work well and no place to plug in electronics to charge. Shower no hot water any time of day.

Needs work. Bed fine. People nice and friendly!

Clean, but a bit rundown. Innexpensive, an OK place to crash while exploring the island.

This place offers good networking and I love the Tv cos I can watch MAYDAY MAYDAY on I think… uh? … The discovery channel?

Room must be renovated, the bed was not good and the bathroom date of the 70's. Good for one night if you do not find something elle.

Old without real renovation. In the middle of the tourist season, it was necessary to ventilate to remove the scent of stale. Painted bath, carpet with a patch nailed to the ground, … Very ordinary value for money.

Terrible shower It was impossible to take a shower because it was two streams from a top and the bottom. The room was almost OK but the conditions like from 1920the. Very disappointed.

Honestly, this doesn't deserve a star, at least not in the room my husband and I stayed in. The room was really dirty. The fridge had dirt stuck on the outside of it. The carpet had a musty smell to it. The floor in the bathroom was peeling off. The bed was hard. Toilet had stains in it. There was only enough hot water to last 10 minutes and was only hot enough without me turning the cold water tap on. The shower head had no pressure at all and the Shower had black mold in it. Ive stayed in way nicer motels for the same price then this one. Would never go back. I Would sleep in my car first.

Ok… YES it is economy accommodation. But if u want an affordable spot to sleep and just go. It's perfect. Very nice staff. We booked our room and when we checked in and they saw we had kids, they put up in a suite with a kitchen. More space and it was offered to us. We didn't ask. Then we found our room was cheaper than previously quoted. Awesome staff… anything I wanted was provided and we wil DEFINATELY book at the Shine Motel on our next trip! ☺ Thanks to an awesome housekeeper who was really sweet☺ TWO THUMBS WAY UP.

DO NOT STAY HERE… We just arrived to Summerside without reservations so we decided to check in to this hotel. The room smelled like smoke, and the room was dirty. The shower wouldn't work properly, and the bathroom was disgusting. After having an amazing few days in Cavendish to stay here was an absolute buzz kill. My daughter and I woke up with a headaches and runny noses. We were with family or we would have left.

This place needs some major updating.

Stay far away. This place is a complete dump. When we arrived the first thing the owner said to us was "Sorry the room is kind of a mess" — what a horrible first impression. We got into the room and it absolutely reeked of cat pee. We were staying for 4 nights and didn't have enough towels or toilet paper for even one day. On the final night we went to visit some friends and when we returned at 9:00 the next morning (checkout is at 11:00) they had packed up all of our things and removed them from the room claiming that "they thought we were gone and had left all our stuff" keep in mind this was two hours before checkout! I would never recommend this place to anyone, especially not for $100 per night.

My name is Haley. I have never had an experience at a hotel or motel as I did at this one. I was coming to summerside to do some shopping etc and had wanted to stay over night so I booked a room at the shine motel online. I went straight there as soon as I got to summerside to pay etc as I was standing there the attendant stated he had to call his manager which had come in a little bit later. They were talking in a different language and where than the attendant had told me there was not partying allowed and asked "are you sure you want to stay here? " I had then said yes where then he stated "quiet time is 10PM, are you sure you want to stay here? ". They made me feel extremely uncomfortable and like I wasn't welcome because yes I do have piercings and a couple tattoos but does that mean I'm going to throw a huge party in the room? ABSOLUTELY NOT. This is a perfect example on how people judge a book by its cover. I didn't even have plans to really be there, I just wanted a place to sleep and then leave in the morning. I am extremely disgusted with how things were handled and I will NEVER be booking there. And I highly suggest no one else to book a room there either, because certain things about yourself will apparently come off to them that you are going to be loud and partying. Thank you for judging me based on the way I look. I will be booking somewhere else because the staff there are absolutely disgusting.

To Whom It May Concern: I have been a Customer of the Mulberry Motel in Summerside PEI for a great number of years, I have always enjoyed the service and affordable price as business costs have increased at a considerable rate in the past five years it is a great place to stay at a fair price not to mention a very helpful Staff.
