We stayed 4 nights in a cottage and had a wonderful time. It was clean, quaint, and had everything we needed. The grounds were fun for the kids to run around, it was a short walk to the shoreline, and the restaurant was top-notch. We recommend this place 100% if your family is looking for somewhere to stay in PEI.

Offering views of Brackley Bay, this quaint hotel dating from 1860 is an 8-minute walk from the sand dunes and beach of Prince Edward Island National Park, and 23 km from downtown Charlottetown. Traditional rooms in the main building are simply furnished with antiques; some have vaulted ceilings and/or 4-poster beds. Suites add sitting rooms with sofas. Modest 1 — to 4-bedroom cottages lie next to the hotel or in secluded woodland. Most have fireplaces, and some offer full kitchens. Amenities include a seasonal restaurant and a playground. There's also a summer kids' activity program.

Lovely place. Rented one of the cottages (chalet) which are roomy, clean, modern and well equipped and maintained. A very short walk put us on to a long beautiful beach!

A charming country estate, located right off the water. Rolling fields spread out in all directions. Food is wonderful as well. A historic building, they might not have the latest bells and whistles, but who needs a flat screen when you have amazing grounds to explore?

There was a mistake with the booking. I found most of the staff especially but not limited to the front desk to just not care. They were kind enough to store some of my food in there fridge (I thought I had a a cabin with kitchen and did not, they also mrssed up my days) but lost a few things that I needed for my next cabin rental that did have a kitchen. I put my kids in the kids night that cost money. They were highly dissapointed. The girls doing the job were in no way outgoing or really good with kids. I was also charged separately for there meal that kids night which I was told was included in the price for the event. My kids did not have a choice it was fish and chips for everyone. They did not love the food. The grounds are beautiful and it is so close to Brackley Beach and the Dunes that we really enjoyed our time there.

A bit tired and living on its reputation. Bedroom needed renovating. Bathroom tap dripped and shower fitting was loose. No coffee or tea making facilities in the room. No fridge or safe either. Bedroom furniture of a poor quality. Breakfast was good. Public rooms had money spent on them so were ok. Need to do the same with the bedroom.

Friendly staff. Walk to beach. Bike and kayak rentals on site. Laundry. Still an extremely well run family business for over 150 yrs.

The rooms were very old fashioned but it was done very well. The motel has Wi-Fi and the rooms have samll flat screen tvs. There is a free breakfast in the morning that is delicious!

Fantastic! This Inn has so much history. The staff is amazing. Owned by the Shaw family for generations. And their property has stunning views. Highly recommended!
