Misty Meadows B and B

This quaint bed and breakfast is in a lovely location away from any hustle and bustle. However, within 15 minutes you can be in Victoria. Prior to our stay, the owners gave us personal recommendations of activities to do in the local area which was extremely helpful as we had not been to the area before. On their recommendation, we did night kayaking and visited Bucharest Gardens and saw the fireworks. We also used the whale watching company that Cathy advised us to use. All three experiences were fantastic and we really enjoyed them. We stayed in the ‘garden room’ for three nights. This included a main bedroom and a separate room with a double bed for our children which was ideal. The room was very well appointed and clean throughout. The bathroom was big and has modern fixtures and fittings. We slept very well each night due to the peace and quiet and the air conditioning! Breakfast is a sociable affair where guests sit around a large table. We enjoyed the company of a lovely couple from Canada and this enhanced our stay. The breakfast is home-cooked and delicious. It included coffee, juice, a starter such as fruit or fruit/yoghurt and a main dish such as almond bostock. It might be nice to have a selection of cereals/toast for breakfast just for children. The B&B has two indoor cats, an outdoor dog and two donkeys and our children enjoyed meeting them. We would return without hesitation if we ever venture back to Vancouver Island!

Breakfast is very good, and is cooked at the time you request. It is served in the main dining room, and Cathy serves you, then gives you privacy while you eat. We had a yummy almond French toast, puff pancakes (like Dutch babies) with Canadian maple syrup of course, sliced rolled ham, fruit and Greek yogurt along with coffee and orange mango juice.
Although not super firm, the queen size bed in the main room of the Garden Suite is firmer and more comfortable than the soft full size bed in the side room area. There is also a couch that can fold out into a 3rd bed.
The bathroom looks like it was recently remodeled and is very attractive. The shower is somewhat narrow.
The bottom two floors of the house are the owners’ space. Cathy and Errol are friendly inn keepers. They were accommodating to allow early checkin at 2:00 instead of 4:00.
There are nice outdoor spaces. We enjoyed our balcony overlooking the sheep.
The B&B is in a country setting, away from the hustle and bustle of downtown.

A lovely quiet, spot with wonderful hosts. The breakfasts were amazing. Beautiful gardens. We enjoyed seeing the donkeys and the sheep.

Misty Meadows Bed and Breakfast are scammers. Seems like a bunch of scammers ad they flag/ report whatever they do to the negative reviews to remove the reviews. They booked and confirmed my stay, Took the credit card information and then the day I started to travel to the place, they asked me for more money. I was stuck as I had nowhere else to go on the spot, so I agreed to pay more. After 2 hours, the host called and said she cancelled my booking giving a reason that it was a mistaken double booking! Guys you turned my pleasant vacation to a depressing memory!

My friends and I were all equally delighted with our three-night stay at Misty Meadows B&B at the end of June 2025. The rooms were spacious & immaculate, the beds comfortable, plenty of hot water with good pressure and the breakfasts were delicious. All for a very reasonable daily rate.
Our hostess, Cathy, was most accommodating to each of our quirky idiosyncrasies; whether it was Margie's dietary restrictions, Diane's immediate bonding with one of the housecats, or my desire to "just have a couple of eggs", Cathy made it happen. (Cathy also made it clear that the cats ARE NOT ALLOWED up into the bedrooms. )
All three of us enjoyed sitting around and chatting with her one evening when we returned from our day of adventuring. Her recommendation for the Four Mile Brewpub was indeed a short drive for a delicious meal. The perfect place to spend our evening after exploring the city center of Victoria for the better part of the day.
The accommodation is lovely. Everywhere you look, there is something to delight the eye. From the subtle painting techniques in the dining room, the clever use of mirrors in the decor to the luxurious bathroom fixtures. We took over the whole place using both the Garden Suite with its two beds in separate rooms and the Paris room with one large bed.
I don't know about the "Fjordhorses" part of the listing. The last of the horses seems to have passed on a couple of years ago at a very old age.

We have stayed at the Misty Meadows Bed and Breakfast for two nights. It was an awesome place to stay, the room was very cozy and Cathy and Erroll were very friendly hosts. From the beginning we felt very welcomed. The breakfast made by Cathy was super delicious and both of them gave us great advice of what to see on the island for the rest of our journey.

We stayed for 6 nights and wow, what an amazing and unique experience. The place is very charming and secluded, the breakfast was tasty. But the star of the show were the hosts Erroll and Cathy, such kind and genuine people. Highly recommend this place!

I stayed at this beautiful accommodation for 2 nights and 3 days on my first trip to Victoria, and it was truly unforgettable.
Nestled quietly in the forest, the place is surrounded by nature and warmly welcomed by many birds, sheep, donkeys, and the most friendly dogs and cats.
The kind owner couple served the best breakfast I’ve ever had in my life. If you’d like, they’ll even take you to greet the donkeys in the morning.
The room was spotless and extremely comfortable — I felt right at home.
I definitely want to come back again. I’m already looking forward to the day we meet again!

We had the most wonderful time at Misty Meadows — it's a gem! The room was super comfortable with a view of the beautiful forest, the breakfasts were delicious, and the hosts are absolutely lovely. They also have some adorable animals on the property — 2 donkeys who love carrots, sheep, 2 cats, and a dog. We hope to come back!

We stayed at Misty Meadows after our Alaska cruise. This was a great place to stay after the tumult of the trip; quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of Victoria. Cathy and her husband were great hosts; welcoming, interactive and made great breakfasts from local fare. The room was very comfortable and had an updated en-suite. Make sure you go visit the donkeys and look in on the sheep.

NOT VERY SERVICE ANIMAL FRIENDLY.
I was very pleased to see this property advertised on Expedia as "service animal friendly". I have a FULLY certified service dog that I was planning on bringing with me for 3 night stay and being proactive, I reached out to the owners to inform them. To my disappointment, I was told that my dog cannot enter bedroom and have to sleep in the car or crated in the kitchen as they receive more reservations from people with dog allergies that people with service dogs. Sharing this especially for parents with kids who have service dogs as this may be very traumatic expedience (especially for neurodivergent kids) if you show up at the door with your service animal not knowing about the extend of the conditions above.
They seem like a lovely couple on the pictures and the property looks amazing, reviews are great so I am sure the stay is great if you are traveling without a service animal.

Very charming bed and breakfast. The location was beautiful and quiet, yet 20min from Victoria and Butchart Gardens. The breakfast was impressive to say the least! And accommodating of dietary restrictions (I'm gluten free). We stayed for the week, enjoyed chatting with the hosts, getting to meet the animals — cats, dogs, sheep, and donkeys and found the other guests to be very respectful. Would recommend if you are looking to explore the area but stay out of the activity of downtown.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Misty Meadows. Erroll and Cathy are both so friendly and accommodating. The room was lovely with a little private deck attached so we could enjoy looking out over the property, listening to the farm animals (sheep, donkey, etc. ) and relaxing on the patio furniture.
Breakfasts were delicious. Cathy pays attention to every last detail.

Beautiful house in a beautiful location. Beautiful location in the forest, amazing greenery. Fantastic service, awesome room, and breakfasts are definitely the highlight of this B&B. Cathy is a wonderful person full of joy and stories. We enjoyed every moment here and would have been more than happy to return here after a long day.
Forgot to mention, CATS! And a dog. Lovely pets. They won't enter guest's rooms, so allergies are of no concern.
Slightly far from downtown (20m by car) but that's fine for the most part.

We booked this place in last minute. Let me tell you it was a fantastic place for a great price and wonderful room and service. Cathy is wonderful person. She has 2 cats and 2 dogs. I am scared of dogs but she was so helpful she took them inside whenever I used to come out of room to go outside. If informed her prior she would keep them in. We experienced wonderful stay here. The breakfast was very delicious and a wonderful experience staying there. We look forward to come here again. Highly recommended.

We had no real high expectations as it was to be only to sleep and have breakfast somewhere. We were wrong. The B&B was really cozy, in an enchanted location with lots of trees and some animals. The 2 breakfasts we had were amazingly good, healthy and hearty. The room we had was comfy and spacious. As for the hostess, she was so nice we had great chats and she had really good advice for our trip. We really wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you for everything.
