We have stayed at Mariners Loft several times in the past few years. It's a really wonderful place to stay for a visit to Salt Spring Island. The suites are close to the centre of Ganges, but quite separate from the town. The view of the harbour is spectacular.
The suite itself is roomy, sparkling clean and very comfortable. The suite is very well equipped, which has always made us feel well looked after. The kitchen has everything we've needed to cook in as often as we like. The bedrooms are lovely, and the beds are super comfortable. It always feels like home when we walk in.
We stayed in the 3-bedroom penthouse at Mariner's Loft for three nights, and overall we came away with mixed feelings about our stay.
Pros.
Unbeatable View.
The view was absolutely amazing. We had an unobstructed waterfront view and loved watching the boats come and go throughout the day.
Excellent Location.
The property is right in the heart of downtown. It was only about a five-minute walk to the main area, which made exploring very convenient. We visited the farmers market over the weekend and appreciated being able to drop off our purchases at Mariner's Loft before continuing with our day.
Well Equipped.
The suite came with all the essentials we needed. Inga was thoughtful enough to provide a welcome bag filled with locally made goodies. The kitchen was spacious and well stocked, making it easy to prepare breakfast and dinner during our stay.
Cons.
No Air Conditioning.
This was the biggest downside for us. We happened to visit during a heatwave, and because the suite faces east and west, it received direct sunlight for much of the day. The unit became quite hot and stuffy. Although fans were provided and Inga kindly offered additional ones, there still wasn't enough airflow to keep the space comfortable. Unfortunately, the heat also made it difficult for everyone in our group to sleep well.
Unstable Wi-Fi.
During our last night, the Wi-Fi stopped working. I contacted Inga that evening but didn't receive a response before we checked out.

There were 2 couples staying in one of your units. This is our second year that we have stayed at Mariner’s Loft. The units are clean, and have everything that is needed. It is very close to the marina, shopping, and restaurants. The only feedback I would have is that the TV channels were very limited (basic channels).
