Rossmount Inn

We had a wonderful stay at Rossmount Inn. The property is beautiful, relaxing, and very well maintained. We really enjoyed our getaway, and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay.
We especially want to recognize Jackie. She truly went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Her kindness, warmth, and genuine care really stood out. You can tell she takes pride in making guests feel welcome, and she made a lasting impression on both of us.
Thank you, Jackie, for your exceptional hospitality. Your kindness made all the difference, and you are a real asset to Rossmount Inn. It’s people like you who make guests want to come back.

The food is fine, and the staff are very nice and friendly, but the dining room is too loud for a romantic dinner.

Just outside of St Andrews this Inn has an amazing dining room where we ate on Sunday.
The staff were courteous, professional and engaging. All six adults enjoyed our delicious meals that were impeccably prepared and beautifully presented. I started with the scallop ceviche, that had by tastebuds dancing. I also had the pan seared haddock that melted in my mouth. My husband enjoyed the pork tenderloin and the chocolate truffle cake was to die for.
The price was very reasonable and we will absolutely return.

Rossmount Inn was the first stop in New Brunswick during our road trip through the Maritime Provinces and was an auspicious start. It’s a historic property with lots of charm and gorgeous gardens and grounds. It was too chilly to consider using the swimming pool, though it looked inviting. The weather was mild enough though that we could enjoy sitting by the pool, as well as walking up the hill behind the hotel for the stunning views. It’s a short drive to the pretty harbor town of Saint Andrews. While there are plenty of restaurants in town, as well as a very good coffee shop (Honeybeans), we dined at the Rossmount both nights of our stay, and it was a wise decision. I‘ll review the restaurant separately, but suffice to say that it fully merits its elevated reputation.
Being a historic building the rooms, and particularly the bathrooms, are small, however they’re comfortable and adequate. We had booked a room with a bay view. Ours was a corner room in front on the second floor and we were pleased with the view of the bay in the distance and the swimming pool on the other side. The rooms are all different and apparently the trade off for the view was the tiniest bathroom sink we ever saw. It was impossible to use it without splashing water all over the floor. There was also a small sitting area right outside our door and groups of people would gather there and talk loudly in the evening.

My wife and I recently went to St. Andrew's as part of our two week honeymoon. I wanted a more upscale dress-up location that was not super crowded where we can enjoy a refined, classy and quiet meal. I chose the Rossmount Inn restaurant for our dining that evening, based on previous reviews, and it absolutely did not disappoint.
I had mentioned earlier when I contacted them that we were on our honeymoon and wanted a quiet dining experience. They put us in a room for which we were the only patrons for the bulk of our dinner — it was perfect that we were able to chat and not have to talk above the crowd noise.
The ambience was great, the server (we didn't catch her name but she had glasses and had some tattoos) was absolutely superb in her timely service and professionalism — absolutely deserved the high tip we gave her. She explained our food options and was very quick and responsive to present our food and clear the dishes not to mention refill our drinks. She also took the time to chat with us and it is great to have serving staff show interest in their customers rather than just serve them. She gave us a bit of history on the Inn, restaurant and helped us gain an appreciation of where we were. She even took a number of photos of us afterwards in the lobby, so we could have a great memory of our night out, dressed up. It was fantastic.
My wife had the pea soup as appetizer, beef cheeks for the main and creme brulee for dessert, and loved them all.

Beautiful place to visit! We've traveled all over the world and we are still amazed at the beauty of our own back yard! What a beautiful place we live in!

The new ownership promised a stewardship, but the changes reflect anything but. Decline in service, atmosphere, and simply no longer the Rossmount that earned a reputation for best in class. The food is fine, it’s just no longer an experience.

This is our must go to for a nice and romantic date night. The food is always consistently excellent and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The service is professional, nice and courteous.

We had dinner here as recommended by a friend. The service, food and ambiance were very enjoyable. It was our first time to St Andrews and our dinner experience here made the trip memorable!

I discovered this little hotel when looking for Canadian summer travel options. I’m happy to say I found a great place to stay and visit again. The rooms are small but tasteful and clean, the environment is quiet, and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. It’s a beautiful property and I would be happy to go back again.

We booked months in advance and it was the highlight of our trip to St. Andrews. The chef made us an amazing 5-star 3 — course meal for supper and the bed was quite comfortable. We also loved the poolside seating in the evening which had great ambiance for spending time with family. We will be back again for sure!

Another amazing stay here at the Rossmount. We lounged by the pool for the afternoon then hade a delicious meal, and I mean delicious, that evening. Every bite is superb, so fresh. We can't wait to come again next year!

We visited the Rossmount Inn 20 years ago with our children and just had the opportunity to return last week. We had an absolutely fabulous stay. Our room was perfect with a beautiful view of the pool. Very comfortable accommodations. We had delicious breakfasts each morning and had dinner twice during our stay. The food and drinks were outstanding, and the service was top notch. We walked up the path to the top of the mountain with spectacular views. The inn and the grounds were immaculate and beautiful. Thank you to Rossmount Inn for a wonderful vacation! Definitely recommend!

If you’re looking to relax and have a great meal, this is the place. Great romantic getaway. Make sure to take a walk up the trail in the back to the top of the mountain. The view is spectacular and worth the hike.

The grounds are stunning, and the service was lovely. Our only complaint was that our room was right above the kitchen and until about midnight we heard nothing but loud clanking and crashing/banging as clean up was done. If you are open to staying in a more traditional style b&b room — with no real amenities in the room (no fridge, no kettle etc) then you will likely be fine. But if those type of amenities are important to you, I’d skip the overnight stay here. The food is the best I’ve had in NB, and the pool was perfect.

The Rossmount Inn is, in my opinion, the best restaurant in Canada. The food is consistently outstanding, with every dish prepared perfectly. The lobster cocktail, in particular, is absolutely amazing — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The setting is charming, the service is warm and attentive, and the overall experience is unforgettable. A true gem.
