Hodge Premises

Most amazing room at the Hodge Premises Inn! So beautifully decorated with lots of space and really comfortable bed, chairs, coffee maker, mini fridge, and a water view on top of everything else!. The building is right on edge of the water. Can not say enough about this place. Everything you could possibly need. Bathroom was amazing. Huge. Walk in shower… Breakfast was in the coffee shop on the main floor. Wonderful coffee and great breakfast choices. Would definitely go back again and again! A short walk across the street and you could eat dinner at Georgie's. Which was also excellent.

Location was perfect, in town but out at the end of the road, right on the water! We could walk around but not in the bustle.
What a view from Room 6 but I bet other rooms had even better views! Close to two museums (Twillingate and Wooden Boat), restaurants, pub. The resident entertainer across the street at the cute The Captain's Pub was excellent and we got screeched in there. What a nice, clean, quaint place. This is the only accommodation that has ever provided real little creamers in the fridge for me! No powder! And 2 water bottles were in fridge for us. Thank you! It was fun to have our continental breakfast downstairs at the Blue Barrel Gallery Café, where you could also shop around.
Go to the lighthouse, nice trails up there! Go to Great Auk Winery, Twillingate Museum, Artisan Market and Café, Annie's had delicious chowder and go to Captain Dave's Museum on your way out! What a place, needed a week!

Our room was huge and immaculate. The bedding, duvet and towels all what I would expect from a fine hotel. A lovely guests lounge on the 2nd floor. I especially liked the wood floors, so much cleaner than carpet. We had room 7 with 2 ocean view windows. I was a little hesitant because this is on the pricier side, but definitely it is worth every penny!

The rooms at Hodge are large and lovely with a scenic view of water. Breakfast was served with a smile at the coffee shop on the main floor.
Well located to drive to the lighthouse, do trails and walk the small town. There are stairs to climb to the room. We had a nice stay.

Room was very nice and clean. Huge bathroom with “his and hers” sinks. However, expected more from such a pricey hotel. Downfalls were very small TV and not much to do in the evening, hot at night (only a floor standing ac unit), countertop in washrooms was very small and had no space to do hair/makeup, and breakfast was not great for the cafe. This was the most expensive place we stayed in Newfoundland (almost $400 for one night during peak season), so I expected superb quality and service.

We had a 4 night stay at the Hodge Premises Inn located on the harbour. The Inn is associated with the Anchor Inn.
The location is handy for Iceberg Tours and hiking trails.
Our room and bathroom were large and comfortable, but the bed was on.

The TV is a quirky steaming system.
We had a disappointing dinner at Georgie’s, the mussels and especially the broth were inedible.
The Hodge provides vouchers for breakfast at the friendly Blue Barrel Cafe in the Anchor Inn.
We found Reception cool, did not receive the warm welcome that we had become accustomed to in Newfoundland.

Our view of the water was very limited. I recommend reserving the ground floor rooms for a good view. Rooms are not worth $450.00 a night at all.
