ibis Douala

Hi everyone I checked in to Ibis Douala on 7th July till 11 th of July. The location was good. Ibis hotel offer free drop off. I arrived mid night the staff was cooperative. Out side nearby many restaurants are available as well in Ibis hotel inside restaurant also offers good quality food. In the room they offer one bottle of water and no electric cattle tea & coffee. Also available small size refrigerator in the room I kept my water and coke. Bed was comfortable. In the wash room liquid soap and warm water available also I found hair dryer. The AC was not cooling properly. I compained but not fixed. I found also nearby small super store with grossery items.

All in one i. E. Located at the heart of Bonanjo, near largest banks HQ, safest quarter in Douala, less than 10min to the Airport. Seasoned and dependable staff, Nice food…

The hotel is overall good and clean, but the rooms are quite small. The vibe outside the rooms feels reminiscent of the "Suicide Squad" series. Breakfast was satisfying. However, one thing I missed during my stay was a large window in front of the desk which I see normally in other IBIS hotels. Overall experience was good. The provision of only one small bottle of water per day was insufficient.

All one expects from an Ibis hotel: no thrills, clean and effective. Very kind staff and a good restaurant.

Been staying at the Ibis since mid 90s originally not through choice but now I stay through choice. The rooms used to have great firm mattresses, not anymore, like bed topping on a divan, showers to choices scalding hot or cold. The food, what to say, terrible, local fresh ingredients transformed in to chicken, fish and beef that resemble jerky and have a similar taste to Michelins finest, same menu for weeks on end. Seriously book in but eat out.
Why stay there?, Friendliest most helpful staff I've run across ever, most have worked there for years and years. Makes up for the multitude deficiencies.

I must agree that the hotel is a little run down, and the rooms might use a good facelift. You never know if you'll have hot water or not. They have ancient bath-style showers that make getting in and out difficult and risky, and the shower curtain hasn't been replaced in a long time.
However, the service is excellent, and they go out of their way to make you feel at ease.
The bar has a good selection, if a bit pricey.
The food is decent yet varied, although anyone stays for more than a week will become tired with the meals.
The pool area outdoors is clean and relaxing after a long day at work.
Overall, it wasn't an awful stay, although there are nicer hotels in Douala.

I have a good stay. It is my favourite hotel to stay in Cameroon. Staff very friendly from reception till the restaurant, ready to assist you. The best part tailored solutions to your special needs, for example, I m a Nigerian, I miss my country. The chef is wonderful. I asked for my country soup egusi and ebay and it was well prepared for me.

Simple and very comfortable room. Ideal working environment.

Great team spirit amongst the staffs, ranging from the security on arrival to all others. Sophie gave great care to ensuring that my room meets my expectations and exceeds by asking regular questions. William's and Gisele gave keen attention to my stomach needs with smiles along side. Great team.
